Definitely think if they get this thing dialed it could be a logi killer especially if they offer some pedals with it for 350ish but at 300 for that wheel and base and still needing pedals it makes the moza r5 a close competitor and the r5 is just so good
Yes! Will definitely be interested what they do regarding the pedals
Also the csl buddle which you can down the road add the 8nm power bank
@eshansatti9953 true when it's in stock
At least here you have a good quality rim (fanatec you have to buy an extra one)
@@batzertyabc3339 good quality? That thing sounds worse than the 100$ thrustmaster wheel add ons lol. The overall build quality looks very cheap and ugly compared to some other brands, sure you’ll be paying around 300$ just for the steering wheel but usually it’s decent quality like the moza rims. This could be useful for people with limited space or tight budgets but I don’t see anyone with an entry level DD base going out and switching over to this thing.
So happy to be a part of this amazing community‼️ Keep grinding and dropping bangers‼️
You already know I will. Big announcement soon 🫡
Another great video! I love the production value - your photography, editing, voiceover - all really well done. A pleasure to watch.
Thanks a lot! :)
If Logitech gonna make a successor to the G923, i.e. G925, this design is the way forward. Fanatec kicked off the more compact DD box design wheelbases which they and now Moza are releasing, followed by Logitech and Thrustmaster(with limited success imo), and Camus decided to do something innovative. Hopefully we get more cool innovations bringing DD wheelbases prices to at least $300 USD.
but you cant replace the wheel when you want something different or when it breaks.
@@grozaphy you can't really do that on logitech either.
@@givemeajackson you can though just wont have the buttons
@@grozaphy My logitech g27 literally still works and i use it every month since I bought it, no reason why shit you buy should break in under 5 years.
So is thrustmaster not a good Wheel at all? I was about to buy one please Help
Thanks for the video! I've been hyped for this wheel for a while now, and there haven't been many reviews so far.
I wanted to say though, considering it's a budget wheel, you should review it in a more budget friendly setup. For example, people who want the cheapest direct-drive wheel they can get probably aren't going to have racing gloves. I'm sure the leather feels fine though, what I care more about is that I doubt many people buying the wheel are going to have racing chairs with mounting brackets. I personally have a desk that has a drawer on the front with no overhang to attach the clamp to, so I don't know if the clamp is going to be able to extend all the way to the bottom of the drawer, or if my drawer handle would get in the way. I didn't get a good look at the clamp in the video. Maybe I'll have to take the drawer out of my desk every time I use it! I'd love to see a follow-up video showing how the clamp works : ) (you don't have to make that video if you don't want to)
Anyways, any video about the Cammus C5 is a good video. I am very excited!
you are my favorite sim racing youtuber, i'd love a video comparing shifters, considering i haven't seen very many of those videos (thrustmaster vs moza vs logitech vs fanatec vs etc))
Check this out: ruclips.net/video/nm3DdDNk93Y/видео.html
Excellent editing as always
Thanks 🙏🙏
Looks interesting, as an entry level guy I will keep an eye on this one
If this gets console support i will definitely be heavily considering it as a g29 upgrade
Would have been nice to see it compared to other 5Nm direct drives instead of only gear and belt drives.
Will be doing so soon 👍
Dave Cam rates it.
4 months later, 300 wheel and pedals, but only a 2 pedal set up.
@@boziewz6125They have 3 pedal set now and it look sick at a great price.
I really like your content, i just subbed to keep you goin like that ! Awesome
This is a great wheel…. For people on a really tight budget or really don’t have the space for something as small as a moza R9 then this is absolutely perfect, outside of that I don’t see anyone ditching their current DD wheel for this thing lol.
Was waiting for this review for so long! Might buy it when its coming out. Of course if i dont win the giveaway😏
we definetly need more cheap wheels in the market like these
Perfect wheel for the traveling sim racer and for kids wanting to race with dad
I beat Max Verstappen using this bundle.
Looks promising, every single brand trying to establish and bringing up some competition is always good for us customers.
Although seeing its flaws, until (and hopefully) they polish their product, Moza is the way to go, its R5 Bundle is just a bargain considering the awesome quality and performance offered.
Agreed! Thinking of comparing this to my R5 to see how it holds up.
The sound you complained about seems to be the bibrations going from your cockpit onto something close to it rubbing, it would make no sense for the wheel to make any noise since it has no gears
I was hoping more detailed footage of the mounting section, rather than closed frame b roll shots of it.... great review otherwise a little disappointed there is not a youtube display more in-depth of the mount since its probable the first of its kind...
Let’s gooo I was waiting for this one
I know 😳
Havent seen a video from ya in a while, just watched this one and it looks like the cammus c5 is great. Love to see technoloyy getting cheaper and better as time progresses, also bro the sound that the wheel makes sounds like a squeaky door or straight from a horror movie lmao. I think the cammus c5 simply is too strong for your setup and it unscrews the screws holding the cockpit together making it sqeuak, just a theory 😂
Did you try turning down the effects from 100% to see if that helped with the vibration noise?
OC big fan of the channel man! Honestly though your best videos are when you race online! I would check out ACC LFM, it's like ACCs version of iracings ranking system and is a ton of fun, would make for great content! I'm actually a single seater guy primarily but I'm currently addicted as all hell to ACC online racing, it's just sooo fun.. from what I've heard ACC does GT3 cars even better then iRacing, obviously iRacing has way more variety but ACCs price is a fraction in comparison. Check it out! 😁
Finally a good review on this wheel
Gotchu 🫡
Strange. All other reviews I have seen with this wheel it has been silent.
WOOH! YES ANOTHER VIDEO!
You ALREADY KNOW 😤😤
Alright, I’m interested. I like sim racing but I don’t do it all the time and I don’t have the space for a whole rig right now. A simple and inexpensive direct drive wheel like this seems like something for me to finally replace my boring Logitech G920.
That intro is 🔥
You said better than the T248, how does it compare to the T300? Also with the buttons, will it be compatibility with playstation?
How odd though that they specifically “engineered in” the Logitech rattle. 😂
Very interesting. How does it do drifting?
honesty i like the look, have the C5 sell in Bestbuy canada, would like to get one and share it with my peers who'd also be interested in get into this type of gaming setup.
honesty it's a toy, i hope the load sound doesn't break for long term use.
The noise let this package down imo. My t300 still going strong for 2 years now. Next upgrade will hopefully be a real life car lol.
Upgrading to a direct-drive will be more realistic
@@OCRacing than a real life car?
@@martymet This will be more realistic for your banker
@@OCRacing it's the vibration function .... is it possible to put it off??
@@martymeti was joking lmao
Lol, I think it is a very ambitious design idea…..interested to see how it develops
I was pretty sold on it until I heard the sound clips of the loud noises it was making at 5:40... has me a bit weary now
i recently got the tspc.. can you do a vid compare to tgt 2? i know tgt 2 is ps and pc but it literally feels same. ts pc vs tgt vs tgt 2
im having a g29 looks like this is a promising upgrade just the pedal situation... the noise while vibration is normal i think, the trueforce thing had it as well if i remember correctly.
If you already own the logitech pedals there are some cheap after market chips to make them standalone usb devices, or some basic electronics and coding do the trick as well. It's just some potentionmeters to be read by an arduino leonardo/micro/pro micro and it's done.
@@alphastratus6623 thanks
I bought 1 but its so loud.. is mine broken? very loud baring thumb
How loud is this weird sound compared to the g29 clanking noise?
5:51 is a really strange noise can you hear it when you have headphones on?
Happy with the Fanatec DD Pro for the PS5.
When they get a U.S. distributer it would be worth it. Shipping is over $120 U.S. bringing the price in line with the Moza and Fanatec offerings who have U.S. distribution.
Cant you just turn off the vibration on the software to get rid of the annoying sounds?
Another week another w oc racing video 🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
🙏🙏🙏
Nowadays there is a bundle that includes this wheel and a two pedal set. Unfortunately for some reason it doesn't include the desk clamp and also it doesn't seem like you can add a clutch pedal and connect an H shifter. I still feel that for someone on a budget it makes much more sense to go with T150/TMX Pro or T248 because they come with 3 pedals set and you can mount them on a desk easily at no extra cost. Obviously you can get an H shifter later down the road. Sure they are not direct drive but the value is in all the stuff you get included with the wheel itself. I'd definitely get a DD wheel at some point but only if it was desk mountable out of the box and it included a 3 pedal set.
You can use any standard connected pedal with this wheel. Also, the same brand offers a much better 3 pedal option. And you can connect any standard H shifter to it. But when it comes to shifters, the brand has none (I think).
What's the noise like in comparison to the G920?
The noise is what made me said no to this instantly
would an upgrade from the t300 be worth it?
6:06 Can we talk about what he’s doing going off the track like that: 😂
So you can hear what the wheel sounds like on different surfaces…
6:17 that's a dealbreaker right there
The fact that it comes for $358.00 for the bundle which includes the pedals, dd wheel, and clamp is crazy.
That vibration sound could be the fact that the base is turning?!
the small shift paddles could probably be fixed with a 3d printed cover
Hey I’m looking to get into sim racing. My budget for a wheel is ~300 bucks and I was wondering if I should just buy the thrustmaster t248 or wait for the cammus c5 to release.
Does it work with the Logitech pedals or shifter?
Whats the song at 4:55 I vaguely remember it from years ago
can i use a handbrake and a shifter with this
Damn man I love your Miata, you thought I was gonna say "your reviews", just kidding I "love" your reviews!!
I’m surprised people know about the Miata. I think it’s only been featured in one video lol
Who would forget the infamous white miata!!
This wheel looks cool. I hope it works on Steam Deck for driving games. I could easily take this wheel on vacations. Also hope it works on consoles.
It has no console support. That's part of its low price. Adding support for consoles means paying royalties which highly increases price.
My T150 died. After watching reviews decided on C5....Shipping and vax adds $114 which you cant see until you purchase. Is this $419 wheel, peddles and clamp still such a good deal? im currently trying to cancel my order...
do they also sell pedals in shifters?
I have been looking to get into Sim racing. The choice of equipment is almost insane. It's seems like I need to spend $700 on a wheel or choose between the 2 not so good options. Both have major issues that will need modification.
nice video oc
Thank you very much
Most underrated youtube channel
🙏🙏
I can’t wait to get this
PlayStation? I see it has the PlayStation controller symbols on the right buttons. Do you expect it to be compatible with PlayStation consoles? Also, what do you know about the company and their products? Do you expect it to be durable over the long-run? Thanks for another well done video!!
Would it work with pedals such as Thrustmaster t3pa?
Pc (all usb )
What if they design it with a planetary gear system within?
is it brtter than the thrusmaster t300
can i use other pedals or not?
Waiting for dat bro!
This sure has some out-of-the-box thinking with this wheel. I would buy this, if it didn’t have the wheel base integrated in the wheel and the weird noises that it makes.
Heard its 5Nm consistent and 7Nm peak?
i need to try this!!!
can you make a drifting video with it?
It's essentially a hoverboard wheel integrated into a sim wheel.
Nice! But that grinding though. It sounds like a defect.
Holy crap! That price is really good!
Can you turn the vibration feature off in the software if the noise happens to be too loud? Been dying to see the vid since the short and it was certainly worth the wait cause of how well made it is!
I didn't see an option for that on the software. Would be a good idea if they added that feature as I'm thinking it's the vibrations that cause the noise. Good point!
@@OCRacing so ..... Motors inside for vibration.??...unplug we have to🤔
What happens if the wheel breaks but the DD motor still works?
Use another wheel on the base
Dose it work for ps5?
only reason i want to switch to direct drive is that theyre silent, my g27 makes so many clunking sounds
Babe wake up, OC racing posted again
Her post notifications didn’t wake her?! Unacceptable
@@OCRacing Your right dumping her rn 😤
the noise is an absolute no-go, and I think many think of it this way, Big problem. Otherwise I love the buttons and overall seems like a decent wheel.
Nah. Its an in-game and wheel setting problem. 2 other reviewers have no such problem.
How much does it cost
Wait til the cammus come out with the lp8 will be under 300 dollars
Great video. This Cammus isn't the wheel for me though. I want to get into the 12-15Nm range, so I'll be looking at it big brother, amonst other offerings.
Thanks for watching! Many great options in the higher nm range, let me know what you go with 👍
i recon the wheel looks cool almost looks similar to the wheel in paganis
Really cool engineering. However, being so low profile it might not sit well with most rigs in the wild. Also, that sound; sounds like a couple of torn wishbone bushings in a real car, immersion? 🤔😏
Is this the same guy from that buzzfeed food show?
I would buy it if there was a dealer in my country
Shifters ruin it for me it’s a decent wheel but those shifters just don’t look or seem to feel right
I’d like to see them add PS5 compatibility, since I go between PC and PS5.
Looks promising for the price. My TS-XW just took a dump. Think it might be power supply. As much as I'm second guessing, I think I'm gonna go with the T818. Just at the fact that I have everything else Thrustmaster. Great video. Sorry I went off topic.
Yeah, makes sense to go with the T818 if you already have some of their peripherals. Solid choice nonetheless
I was like that before but I ended up waiting over a year for them to actually release their DD base. In the end I sold all my thrustmaster stuff and went all in on moza gear, I have never looked back not even once and I loved my thrustmaster setup. I had the same base the TS XW with a Ferrari F1 wheel ad on but the lack of power made most games never feel right compared to the moza.
Thanks for another great video, how would you compare this to Moza R5? The torque is very similar at around 5nm, but obviously Cammus will be a lot cheaper, hopefully this will force Moza to offer some nice discounts in not too distant future.
Moza is a completely different proposition. Replaceable wheels, for a start. For a casual racer that won't likely want to replace their wheel, or upgrade the base, in the future, the C5 is a good bet. For someone that wants to grow into the hobby, the Moza wins by default. But you pay extra for this.
@@RacingAnt yeah I agree, I don’t see this replacing moza or fanatec any time soon. This would probably be good for like people on a tight budget or maybe don’t have the space for any other wheel base. My moza R9 setup cost me about 3x as much but I have 2 steering wheels that I like to switch between. While the R5 bundle is like twice the price of this I don’t see it going down either since it’s still one of the cheapest DD bases available on the market not to mention they have the best quick release connectors.
Definitely on track to being a Logitech killer
Wooo that's interesting.
So cool but why does it have to look so goofy😂 i know i cant say anything as an t248 owner tho😅
What about pedals, how they connect and if you know how much cost something decent but still cheap/normal price
Pedals did not come with the unit I received and I also don't recall seeing a "pedal" input on the back of the wheel. However, if on PC, you'll just plug in the pedals via USB and you will be good to go. That's what I did in this video when I used my Thrustmaster TLCM pedals along with it.
We purchased c5 couple weeks ago I've not heard a word from them except for a receipt they sent to my email there's no way to track your order I sent three emails out with no replies. We're starting to think that this is a scam.
