    Terrence Crawford is one of those boxers you just appreciate more the better you get at boxing. Roy Jones Jr. is such a pure natural talent that from the first time I saw any footage of him I knew he was something very special and I still think that in his prime he was unquestionably one of the greatest of all time. What really made him so damn fast (apart from the insane reaction time and physical abilities) was the fact that his eyes and brain were fast enough to keep up with his hands so even at that insane speed his punch selection was still ridiculously good.

    • @shaunswift688
      @shaunswift688 2 года назад +4

      Roy Jones Jr doesn't get enough credit for his boxing brain. He was able to work out opponents patterns and tells, and work around them mid-fight. We also saw it when he was commentating he could predict fighters next moves by small signals of body language

      @dylanb2086 2 года назад +2

      Defeat number 3 - Erik Morales. ...
      Defeat 4 - Timothy Bradley. ...
      Defeat 5 - Juan Manuel Marquez. ...
      Defeat 7 - Jeff Horn.
      For real? Pacman had one real fight and barely landed a punch on Mayweather. Oscar faced down the top 5 plus of his prime and won more than he lost vs the best. Hell who even is Jeff Horn. I thought he was a wide receiver for the Seahawks. Oscar vs Chavez was a great fight and showed how fast Oscar was. He ducked noone.

He wasn’t training seriously because he couldn’t, he was around 30 pounds overweight just 2 weeks before the fight and had to shed it all off that fast which is terrible for your body. What he should’ve done is pushed his fight date back and trained/recovered properly but he got too greedy and wanted the money. He had to shadow box in the sauna for hours the night before that fight to lose a couple more pounds. Idk how smart your are but just watching that fight you can see Naseem was not hisself, he was tired and sloppy. That was the only fight he didn’t summersault into the ring. Despite that he still went the whole 12 rounds and even won like 4 of them, never got knocked down. Barrera is a good fighter too so that speaks for itself.

    Great list. Brought back alot of good memories . Roy Jones Jr was definitely my favorite too. I started watching him on Tuesday night fights and started following his career. And was hooked when he Faught James lights out Tony. Tony was talking smack before the fight and Roy just said I'll be ur huckleberry. From the movie tombstone as it was just starting to play at the theater. Dam that was long ago . And of course Roy wooped his ass along with everyone for along time. I believe he finally lost the fire to fight , cause Antonio tarver beat him twice but wasn't near as good, he just had Roy's number. And ole Bernard Hopkins showed Antonio that he wasn't as good as he thought. Which I enjoyed alot. Man, this brings back memories. I never missed a Roy Jones fight and grew up watching Mike Tyson on HBO. I stopped watching when Roy stopped fighting the first time. Roy will always be my favorite. Tyson could have been the best if he continued training for fights, but instead he chose to be cocky and arrogant and became washed up

      Trainer dying and Mike signing w/ Don King was his downfall. If he would have avoided the King trap as many other fighters did as well there is no debate where he would have ended up when all said and done.

      @Brian Cahoon Yeah i do agree with you, i just get a bit frustrated at times when people watch his highlights and say he was smashing everyone. I wish he had the chance to fight better people as he fought journeymen for a long long time. I am a Tyson fan however but be honest he did lose everytime he stepped up a level

      another FLIPino trying to take credit for another person's accomplishment. Philippines is still governed by corrupt politicians & government officials, because FLIPinos are not wise voters, hence your country, the Philippines, will always be a shithole regardless of who wins a boxing match or beauty pageant.

      Patikol Sulu Well fuck, alright chill. Jesus Christ lmao. I mean Lazy Kat is right, he did whoop his ass but I don't see why you have to get so ass hurt. Why are you going off on the Philipines now? Just because Thurman got his ass beat? It's just a comment stating his opinion on the fight, there's no need to start talking about how the Philipines is a "shit hole".

      Lazy Kat there's a boxing match right here. But seriously i hate racists with a passion. Somebody needs to be tracked down and taught a few lessons in manners and respect. The Philippines is the greatest country in the world that i know of.

    Going back through your library has been a treat! Before hitting play, I hope you remind those who may have forgotten about a prime RJJ before he started going up in weight. Both hands could leave you horizontal. He was power. AND he was fast. He would put on a show. He’d hit you from every angle. And he’d punish every mistake. He could be slick. He could be savage. But It was always a good fight to watch

    Just wished there was video of Sugar Ray Robinson in his prime - there were no video until he was older - and those are spectacular! Most greats that saw him said he was the best - Including Ali - who was emulating Sugar. I think Robinson was like Roy but with better defense and stamina. I love Roy btw - but I don't think this generation has the proper perspective of Sugar Ray Robinson.

      Please believe that even the most casual people of this sport will say Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest boxer.They know beautiful art when they see it because there’s few people who literally make boxing look beautiful and Robinson is literally the first person to do that nobody else boxes like him except Kid Gavilan Ezzard Charles and Muhammad Ali

      Pac Man is one of my favorite fighters. I hate when people use this phrase because it's all for trolling. However, I DO understand that he is essentially all his "homeland" fans have so that's the main reason. I might even feel the same. Anyway, still love Pac Man and I hope he hangs 'em up before being embarrassed like a lot of greats.
