Basierend auf dem gleichnamigen Shounen-Jump-Manga von Yuuto Tsukuda und Shun Saeki, handelt Food Wars von Yukihira Sōma, einem jungen Koch, der die kulinarischen Leistungen seines Vaters übertreffen möchte. Eines Tages jedoch schließt dieser das Familienrestaurant, um seine Fähigkeiten in Europa zu trainieren, und steckt Sōma in eine Eliteschule für Köche.
