Looking fabulous, Mike & Sarah! You know... everyone has an opinion, but the only valid one is yours. You guys build it for yourselves and no one else, and we're just happy you're bringing us along on your journey.
You have really done a great job making the cabin personal, anyone can slap up some cheap lights etc but you keep adding your own meaningful touches. It shows! Good man!
Finding your critical task path before winter... it's not necessarily outside work. It's whatever makes her happy!! (smart man!) As to trolls, you'll never make some people happy. But from my perspective, honored and thankful you have taken us along! Best to you!
Your cabin is awesome! You are a true craftsman. You do not need to apologize to anyone about how you choose to do something on your own place. You are the king of your realm!
Like your cabin and enjoyed the video. I think 12 volt is a good idea. I agree with another person who thought that a 12v Edison Light Bulb would fit in your sconces. Thanks! Best wishes!
Moving righ along now. I like the lights and maybe the bigger jars will work. Nice to have some help so your not climbing up and down to cut the lumber. Drone footage is always such a treat for me to see real trees. LOL
It looks so good! Just an idea from a female aesthetic...Edison bulbs would look amazing in the sconces above the wood stove as well as in the dining room sconce.
@@50Acres A light bulb in jar will get very hot and fail quickly. Unless there are vent holes in the lid. The LED's above your kitchen are equipped with heat sinks, for that matter.
I like the window trim outside. It gives it that craftsman style feel where you know someone built it by hand rather than something store bought like a plastic shutter. It's coming along nicely. I was glad to see you have a friend with you in this one. It makes the day go by better and you get more done. You still have time now that it's cool to knock out the rest of the outside shingles. No one can predict, but I read we are in for a mild winter. So anytime you guys can escape to the cabin and build a fire is going to be awesome. Very few people are doing what you are doing right now. Thanks for uploading it. ( 68 days left until Christmas! You need to cut down a small charlie brown tree and surprise your wife when she goes for a weekend. Small tree, construction paper circles for decorating or popcorn! LOL) I'm a guy and I LOVE to cook. Absolutely enjoy it. If anyone likes lasagna, mine takes 90 minutes in the oven! I break out my black turkey roaster that's speckled with white spots. (Granite ware, I had to look it up). I use about 3 lbs of Italian, a container of ricotta, 18 ounces of Provolone cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella etc and mix it up. That layer is at least an inch thick in the bottom of the pan on layers of noodles. Then more noodles, ground chuck with onions and sauce, more noodles, more cheese layer. It's my own creation LOL. anyway, it takes a long time to bake so that cheese blends together and sets. I've had people scraping the sides of the pan before.
Thanks it was nice to have my friend Chris along with me. It really does make the day go by faster and it beats being there alone! Im making a trip this week and Im hoping to get a bunch of shingles done! I like the tree idea, ill have to do that, plenty of cedars to choose from! The lasagna sounds delicious!
I love what you have done with the cabin and the lighting you are a very clever man and you have taught me so much thank you for all the Videos over the years. love them so much God bless you and your family
The grain all lines up 😊. Bigger jars & get a couple couple extra. Sconces are nice. Sarah seems pretty happy with how its looking. Could use that momentum to sell the pondside sauna (with heated pathway to plunge pool for wintertime) 😉.
AWESOME opening and CLOSING Shots!!! Loved the music and the updates on the cabin. There is not much better than good company, good friends, good food and doing what you really enjoy. It looks Great Mike. I finally found my "magical glen" here in Kentucky and will probably begin our build in the spring. I'm excited and terrified at the same time but either way, you inspire me with what you have done and continue to do. Thanks for sharing and yes, will see you next week.
Hey Billy thank you bud. I agree with you, thats what it's all about. Congrats on finding your place in KY, I bet it's beautiful! Good luck with your build and you will do fine. TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO IT EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT!!!!
