Does Wallpaper Engine ACTUALLY drop your FPS? (this was suprising...)

in this video i show you guys the FPS difference when Wallpaper Engine is running and when it's not in Fortnite.

Ok for any one wondering you can change your settings on wallpaper engine so it doesn’t run while on apps so it doesn’t take any cpu/gpu power

Correct, you can add the application to tell wallpaper engine to stop all animations whilst that program is running...

I would advise anyone that likes wallpaper engine to configure it that whenever anything is maximised or fullscreen for wallpaper engine to just stop, that way it doesn't affect performance, when I activated this I got an extra 4-5 fps in days gone on near max settings with an rx 570

@@sarjak I mean i run all games smoothly. I have done so many optimisations but i can tell you some game benchmarks. Fortnite all low settings 165 fps. Minecarft medium settings Lunar Client 450 fps. Roblox Max graphics with fps unlocker 300fps. Valorant default settings 500 fps.

Wonder why u didnt say that WE can pause during gameplay... Did u not know it can do this? If u set it to pause during gameplay it basically doesn't affect performance at all.

4K wallpaper will not affect but if it is a 4K live wallpaper it will affect you in game you’ll have FPS drops and bad graphics depends on your pc or laptop

Wallpaper will lag if it got animation... I got 1080p monitor and 4k animated wallpapers lag badly

Yes. If u have a 1080p screen and download 1440p will lag,but 4k badly. They should do something to scale to the monitor resolution :/

yo i dont know what is going on. I updated my nvidia driver and then installed wallpaper engine and then my forza started to have terrible graphics but no lag then i checked fortnite and it was very laggy and the graphics were terrible so i uninstalled wallpaper engine through steam and its still happening. could you tell me how to fix this?

what is your specs, have you doubled check if the problem was coming from the new driver you updated?

Use a restore point or update windows or check if their are outdated drivers or format windows to start with a clean windows 10

why did you get an i9 and pair it with a 1660, would be better to just go with like an i7 and get a better GPU

I mean for me personally I don’t think everyone has tons of money to drop on a pc all at once, i just recently bought an i9 last week but I’m still “wasting” its power when pairing it with a 3060, though most people would plan to upgrade over time, in any instance though the i9 will far outlast any gpu purchases because every year games get better and better using more and more GPU power
