I have a 2020 450. The brake pedal, where the clevis gets attached to, you can grind/cut off a MM or 2 of the threads.(9:43) I added 30cc of oil to each fork.(9:45)(Michael Lindsay recommended it in his video of the 2020) I went down to a 240mm rear rotor(order 2018 450 OEM caliper mount and a 240mm rotor, that's all you need).(9:53) I never had the engine overheat with regular radiator fluid in it, but after the first few hours, I did go to Engine Ice cause I'm sponsored by them.(9:55) After the allen head bolts rounded off in the fork guards, I switched them to the traditional 8mm bolts like the 18 & earlier models. the air filter is a bit of a PITA. and it gets dirt/mud caught behind the case saver for the chain(with or without the black plastic protector.) for the slide and guide, I don't feel they wear out to quick. I'm only on my second set with 56 hours on it. Order the Acerbis replacements, they're less than half the price of OEM.

Not necessarily, same amount of leg room from the foot pegs to the seat. Husky sits a little lower to the ground, so would technically be better for a shorter rider being able to put their feet on the ground but wouldn’t really be better or worse for a taller rider
That's what everyone say about Honda way back in the day.You must be young. MXA is completely 100% unbiased and there is NO ONE out there more qualified to bring you this shootout. You are free to buy or like whatever flavor you like. Thank you MXA for all your hard work as usual. The best bike always wins. @@seuvagem1950 I don't remember anyone complaining about those things. But if there's 11 different maps and you can't tell which map you're in from any indicator or they make little difference on the track between each other then that's confusing
You guys don’t mention the Austrian bikes weakest point, it’s engine braking. On the works edition test, you note how much better the bikes are thanks to the new app. So it’s strange that you don’t talk about it, regarding the stock version. Or could it just be that you have been bias on KTM for years?...
Wouldn't the Gas Gas be the best bargain? They said it in the shootout that the Austrian bikes are all extremely close. The Gas Gas is almost $1000 cheaper than the winner of the shootout and it's less than $1000 more than the Suzuki... Cheaper doesn't always mean the best bargain. It's what you're getting for your money.
And you don’t have to kick start the gas gas ... you’re 100% right I thought the same thing . I think they trying to keep all of the manufactures happy and giving them Free bikes ...
Love the shootouts but do have one small nitpick. When he says to change the shock on the RMZ 450 and not touch anything else, why say that? People should do whatever they want to a bike and they make it abundantly clear that it's not keeping up with other bikes in terms of power. I get the guy is a pro (he tells us a lot) but he used the same line last year on the rmz 450 and just seemed unnecessary. I don't own a rmz 450 but after hearing him it makes me want to get one and trick it out. Was it his plan all along??? Suzuki spy??
I'm still at a loss as to why the bike prices between countries are so different. In Australia these are the prices in AUD... FC450- $13550 YZ450F- $13499 450SXF- $13345 CRF450R- $13098 MC450F- $12540 KX450- $12348 RMZ450- $11690 Why ktm's are $800USD more than the others over there is quite odd
@trav3510 trav3510 maybe over there but in Aus I'd say Yamaha is massively overpriced, the yz250 is only $200AUD cheaper than the 250sx and the damn thing is almost 15 years old!!!
Looks to me like you guys are trying to keep in the good graces of as many manufactures as you can by giving out trophies to everyone . So the crf is the best pro bike but only if you change exhaust , suspension , ecu and basically everything else about it ? Wtf? And RMZ best value for money ? Nearly the same price as the rest of the bikes and you gotta kick the thing to start it ?? Once again . Wtf?
Takeaway.... all of these bikes are more then 99.9% of us can handle in any scenario and any of us could buy any bike in the shootout and never tap its full potential. That’s right I said it, everyone was thinking it and now it’s out there, can’t be taken back 🤷♂️ lol
lol this video clowned honda's entire bike and at the end says the pros would use the honda over them all? & basically said that the austrian bikes are superior in almost every way. i'm confused...
Who cares that the bike has no major changes to this year's model? Seems irrelevant to me. What is relevant is how good it is compared to other bikes, updates or not. Still worth mentioning ofcourse, but should not be a factor in the ranking.
Let me get this straight , Kawi have won most other shootouts for 2021, Kawi won bike of the year in last 2 years as well, but MXA dont even mention the Kawi in their assessment. The bike that won doesnt even rank high in the other 6 shootouts. Come on MXA wrecking crew, either you guys are completely incompetent at reviewing bikes, or everyone else has no idea. And for the record, I own a 21 kawi, I rode a Ktm 450 last week and mine is in a league of its own, and I have ridden bikes for 40 years?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Well four strokes MX bikes are too expensive so for me do not make sense to expend that kind of money bur wait I will get a good two stroke MX bike like a Yamaha YZ250 or a KTM 250 SX
Yeah ok nice but what if I want the best bike that starts with K and looks green?!? That’s something that no KTM, Husqvarna, Honda, Yamaha, Gas Gas, etc. can beat!!!
Finally.. someone figured out how to make a big with a little less travel and a little shorter... the perfect recipe. Thank you Husky:-)

@@MDaDonLegacy Suzuki need to get their shit together with the mx bikes. Their road GP bikes are on point.
@@Team_Banchamek did you even watch the video they are by far the heaviest bike with the lowest peak hp

Kawasaki best bike ever and bad ass color
Does the Husky positive attributes for handling transfer to the 350, but maybe even more so?
I have a 2020 450.
The brake pedal, where the clevis gets attached to, you can grind/cut off a MM or 2 of the threads.(9:43)
I added 30cc of oil to each fork.(9:45)(Michael Lindsay recommended it in his video of the 2020)
I went down to a 240mm rear rotor(order 2018 450 OEM caliper mount and a 240mm rotor, that's all you need).(9:53)
I never had the engine overheat with regular radiator fluid in it, but after the first few hours, I did go to Engine Ice cause I'm sponsored by them.(9:55)
After the allen head bolts rounded off in the fork guards, I switched them to the traditional 8mm bolts like the 18 & earlier models.
the air filter is a bit of a PITA.
and it gets dirt/mud caught behind the case saver for the chain(with or without the black plastic protector.)
for the slide and guide, I don't feel they wear out to quick. I'm only on my second set with 56 hours on it. Order the Acerbis replacements, they're less than half the price of OEM.
You could hear the test rider give a " WOOOWHOOO on the CRF at 16:30 when he whipped it over that jump to flat bottom. 😂👍
Do TM still produce 450's? If so why isn't it in the test 😬
Nobodys buy em anyway..
Totally disagree with what you said about yamaha air filter and intake its absolutely brilliant soooo easy to maintain.
Like them all plus the beta’s
TM too! Go KTM or Yamaha period.
15:45 ”Yamaha’s 11 years old backwards engine concept”
The concept is newer than all the other bikes so why making it sound like it’s outdated?
because so far the concept has not proven to be an improvement in anyway, YZF450 has never once been picked as the best handling (or even in the top three best handling) since the backwards engine was introduced
@@Sleepy.Time. I would say it has both advantages and disadvantages
@@Sleepy.Time. it's weird how they tried centralising the weight by dropping the fuel tank down and putting the airbox up but the yz is still the most top heavy bike!!! Imagine if they didn't how heavy it would feel!!!
@@Sleepy.Time. bro the Yamaha has by far the most stable chassis especially in straight lines, you either have a bike designed for stablility or cornering, Yamaha chose stability, ktm chose cornering
@@marcusbevz6500 I have not owned one so im just going off what others have said. The Yzf250 is amazing but for some reason a lot of riders struggled to get the 450 to work for them (Stewart, Millsaps and Webb come to mind).
why is there a bung welded to the pipe?
They must be running a wide band O2 sensor to see what the air fuel mixture is on dyno
Motocross action 👍😁
so if you were a taller rider, go for the ktm instead of the husqvarna?
Not necessarily, same amount of leg room from the foot pegs to the seat. Husky sits a little lower to the ground, so would technically be better for a shorter rider being able to put their feet on the ground but wouldn’t really be better or worse for a taller rider
If that’s the case with gas gas then why did Justin Barcia move to them? they obviously let his bike be able to beat the KTM right
Hahahahahahahahahahhah Justin barcias bike only resembles the stock bike by name alone . His bike is probably worth $100,000 😅😅😅😅😅
Because they can take all the restrictions off his bike and do motor work...
it took months to tell me We still love Ktm and wont ever change are minds😂
That's what everyone say about Honda way back in the day.You must be young. MXA is completely 100% unbiased and there is NO ONE out there more qualified to bring you this shootout. You are free to buy or like whatever flavor you like. Thank you MXA for all your hard work as usual. The best bike always wins. This big 4 have been playing catch up for years now and they just can't get there... yet. If they would learn nd ditch the aluminum frame maybe they could touch KTM, GAsGas or Husky. Buyers are so brainwashed into aluminum. It's the cool factor and that's all some care about.
Ya because they are the best in the biz right now lol. Why are some so scared to admit that. I love honda and yamaha but KTM by far has the best bikes, ita not even close really. The amount of time and effort they put in to each one of their models is unmatched. The are CURRENTLY the best brand out there by a country mile
@@-PlayMaker- not even close plz a fast person can be fast on whatever not to mention most get the bike and change it for them anyways. i have a 2018 honda and love it vital mx said it was there best bike that year at the end of the day its all opinions from test riders tbh. if they really wanted to see what the best is no bias period get 30 random people at the track to test. with that being said i want a 2020.5 ktm factory edition best looking bike period just not a fan or air forks
@@garrett3234 no shit I never said that wtf... for the average person KTM is the best bike and like I said it isn't close lol at all. KTM has so many different models for the consumer to chose from so they get exactly what they want and its always perfect from factory. None of the ECU issues, no over complicated mapping and control systems, great power and fantastic reliability as well and excellent parts availability if something does go wrong. The R&D KTM puts in IS unmatched and that is a fact not opinion.
@@-PlayMaker- Bro Ktm is not leaps and bounds better for the price they are 1k more. i would like one for the track but come on i would like to see number of sales cause i doubt it is even the best seller tbh. Air forks arent new but Ktm dont want to swallow there pride like Honda and drop the
I just bought a 2022 te300i husqvarna and now I kind of want to ad this one but not replace my 2014 kx450f because I love it and I already sourced out a 2022 FE-501s
Love the husqvarna product
I still love Kawasaki over the others but damn did husky do a great job on everything
5:53 this is what I call impartial journalism. The bike is bad for having 11 maps of ignition, launch control and traction control.
It's not bad journalism, they are right. Its is a confusing mechanism.
@@caydenthompson126 I bet people said the same thing, when they started doing 4 strokes for MX. Or when they introduced electronic injection ...
@@seuvagem1950 I don't remember anyone complaining about those things. But if there's 11 different maps and you can't tell which map you're in from any indicator or they make little difference on the track between each other then that's confusing

Why don’t you make a 85cc shootout?
You guys don’t mention the Austrian bikes weakest point, it’s engine braking. On the works edition test, you note how much better the bikes are thanks to the new app. So it’s strange that you don’t talk about it, regarding the stock version.
Or could it just be that you have been bias on KTM for years?...
They mention whatever is good for their narrative.
Engine brake is less important than "no tools air box filter"😂😂
Engine braking is great with my 2021.5 sx-f450, now even better with tuning on the ktm App.
KTM isn't perfect but nothing is! Best new bikes in my opinion KTM & Yamaha. Period. I bought one. Next yr will buy another/other brand. Ride!!
Is there a reason you guys exclude the 350's?
Because it’s a 450 shootout...
Top KTM SX 450 🇧🇷⭐🏅
Gasgas MC 450 is my dream bike,,
Great video
Wouldn't the Gas Gas be the best bargain? They said it in the shootout that the Austrian bikes are all extremely close. The Gas Gas is almost $1000 cheaper than the winner of the shootout and it's less than $1000 more than the Suzuki... Cheaper doesn't always mean the best bargain. It's what you're getting for your money.
And you don’t have to kick start the gas gas ... you’re 100% right I thought the same thing . I think they trying to keep all of the manufactures happy and giving them Free bikes ...
Not sure if they mis-spoke but they said the YZ has the most HP in the class at 58, but the 2021 KTM SX-F 450 has 63.
In their video the ktm has 58.3hp
Why doesn’t Yamaha cut a bunch of weight and make the exhaust go straight back
Disappointed in honda. They were onto something with the 17-20 platform
Yep if I was buying a new Honda tomorrow I’d be tracking down a 2020 those things were amazing to ride
Honda is trash these days.
Where are yalls fourwheeliers posted
Love the shootouts but do have one small nitpick. When he says to change the shock on the RMZ 450 and not touch anything else, why say that? People should do whatever they want to a bike and they make it abundantly clear that it's not keeping up with other bikes in terms of power. I get the guy is a pro (he tells us a lot) but he used the same line last year on the rmz 450 and just seemed unnecessary. I don't own a rmz 450 but after hearing him it makes me want to get one and trick it out. Was it his plan all along??? Suzuki spy??
Suzuki is a great bike! Buy a new one an love it. Maintain well. Modify smart. It last forever bro! Looks awesome too .
I'm still at a loss as to why the bike prices between countries are so different. In Australia these are the prices in AUD...
FC450- $13550
YZ450F- $13499
450SXF- $13345
CRF450R- $13098
MC450F- $12540
KX450- $12348
RMZ450- $11690
Why ktm's are $800USD more than the others over there is quite odd
I know right! Here in U.S for example the CRF450R's MSRP is $9599, and the CRF450RWE is $12,380
@@jessiej3991 KTM are premium
The $800 is the the electric start 😂
Real
@trav3510 trav3510 maybe over there but in Aus I'd say Yamaha is massively overpriced, the yz250 is only $200AUD cheaper than the 250sx and the damn thing is almost 15 years old!!!
Now I am up in the air on getting a husky or ktm ......
Wtf?
😍😍Wow ktm dirt dream bike
I'd consider buying one if it had Yamaha suspension and quality.
1:53 those grips are sooooo good Odi V2 Pro Emig
Takeaway.... all of these bikes are more then 99.9% of us can handle in any scenario and any of us could buy any bike in the shootout and never tap its full potential.
That’s right I said it, everyone was thinking it and now it’s out there, can’t be taken back 🤷♂️ lol
Kx450 all day 😩🙏🏿🥵
lot of complaints with the kawi
lol this video clowned honda's entire bike and at the end says the pros would use the honda over them all? & basically said that the austrian bikes are superior in almost every way. i'm confused...
So wait .... everybody gets a trophy then ?! ;o)
Seems like the Honda really got bashed it’s an absolute beast and smokes any Ktm or Yamaha
ohhh maaa gaaawd!! ive been waiting for this :DDD
Buy the Yamaha it's 10 pounds heavier than Honda has great suspension and it's bullet proof
I did. Love Yamaha dirtbikes & ATVs.
Where’s TM?
That HONDA
Who cares that the bike has no major changes to this year's model? Seems irrelevant to me. What is relevant is how good it is compared to other bikes, updates or not. Still worth mentioning ofcourse, but should not be a factor in the ranking.
Let me get this straight ,
Kawi have won most other shootouts for 2021, Kawi won bike of the year in last 2 years as well, but MXA dont even mention the Kawi in their assessment.
What year was the KTM?
