You’re welcome! Don’t feel discouraged being far away, I didn’t get to visit my apartment beforehand and it worked out. Read them Google reviews, look at their socials, people tagging them, etc ! You will find your right place! And you ain’t never lie, GOD got you!

I’m thinking of moving to Houston and renting a room on furnished finder until I figure things out and find a job. I only have a little bit of things to bring with(couch, tv, bed etc) I wonder if it’s worth shipping them down… also I think I commented on another video saying the same thing so if I did my bad lol. Also, I watched your whole video and so excited for you.

But i say go for it! If you have enough saved for rent until you find a job, do it. It would be a great way to explore the city and determine where you actually want to rent on your own at. I’m not 100% costs of shipping those larger items, as I only had clothes/shoes but I say look into it. I used Pirate Ship to ship via UPS and it saved me a lot of money compared to using UPS directly. They use USPS which may be even more price efficient, I just used UPS because I trust them more and needed to insure my stuff.

Im trying to move to Texas. I got 6k and a dream. Because im no where near prepared as you were. Im a 40yr old black guy. I might be making this move kinda late in life. But im tired of south carolina.
It’s never too late in life, especially when you have a whole life in front of you! If you want, I say go for it! 40 is the new 30 and 6k, is a great start depending on where you’re moving from and what you have to bring! Moving can be the start of a better you never imagined!!

Hey! Love your video! What shipping company did you use to ship your car ?
Hey boo! I used Mercury Auto Transport, they’re basically a broker. So, they’ll give you companies/quotes to choose from. I would use them again, or if you can find a direct company that would be better. I won’t say the actual company that transported my car, he was very nice and didn’t charge me extra for packing my car but his truck broke down and I had to wait an additional three days to get my car.

I didn’t use a moving company as I didn’t have furniture to move. I packed my car, shipped things UPS, and had checked bags. To ship my car I used Mercury Auto Transport they were okay but initial quote was lower than what I paid, haulers bid so I would try to get a hauler directly so it’s not as much. And for shipping UPS i used Pirate Ship which really saved me some money instead of going to UPS directly ! For areas it really depends on your budget and where you need to be close too. I chose the heights because it was up and coming, very close to all my stores like Target and grocery store and not to far from my office that i would be working out of. But if you want to stay in the loop i would suggest the heights, midtown, Montrose, and med center
Houston apartments use to be cheap. The more people move here, they raise the price.

Hello - I used Fancy Apartments, specifically worked with Randy Shaw…i really did my own research though but I would use one so you can get a rebate !! I got $200 back using them.
I do my bills the same way.

Thank you so much! I would say take the leap but prepare yourself as well. I felt like I could’ve been prepared better but it was such a quick decision for me. I had about $6k saved and that was for my apartment costs, shipping my stuff, car and plane ticket. If you’re closer to where you want to move, you can probably save more money!
