G'day, thanks for sharing. Very impressive for what it is capable of. I've been flying the one heli for over the last 8 years with over 1000 flights recorded against the Blade 400. This is finally a great step forward for those wanting to fly remote control helicopters. There's only one problem from my perspective and this is not your fault....It requires no skills, no helicopter flying or developed skill sets. New pilots should definitely not be fooled into believing they can fly a helicopter just because it has GPS/auto pilot. Eventually they will have to learn to fly the model by the seat of their pants - and this is even before they attempt 3D flight. A fantastic step forward for this area of the hobby but could create a false sense of security. As heli pilots we know that a heli requires so much more to fly confidently without crashing. It's not a quad, it's not FPV and it's not a plane. I would use this heli to learn to fly 3D - this is where I see the advantage and the benefit for myself. It is a personal thing though. I already know how to fly. Nice heli and thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the video. I'll give this heli the thumbs up nevertheless. May encourage more heli flyers into the hobby.

Hi Ali, I agree this Heli will potentially bring a lot of new fans to the hobby. For the sake of precision, there isn't any way to fly FW450 inverted in manual (3D) mode, as there isn't the possibility to set throttle curves.. So, even in manual mode the FW450 with H1 is not a normal common pitch helicopter. It should also be clearly stated that FW450 comes with H1 Lite which doesn't allow to be used on a different heli and to set anything under the "parameters" menu of the software. This said it is a wonderful trainer heli and definitely something new!!
Hi my Friend i have had my one about 3 month's now and it is a well built kit..I did not have to assemble it. Mine came ready to fly out of the box..wow. with no need to set up any thing..A first for me..lol...I got mine from Bang-good.This bird fly's amassing.I have flow it with fpv setup and the picture quality is very stable for a helli...Must be the GPS .This is the best bang for your money.Love your video.
Hi! Great video. I bought one back in January and love it. I did not look and flew it into a fence. Waiting on spare parts from China. The virus thing has delayed the parts leaving the country. This is great that you have this video. Really interested in all your information. I did not get the H1 calibration software or instructions. I even contacted Fly wing for help. Once I get my spare belt I can get back in the air. Cannot wait to see your video on installing the H1 on another heli. Thanks so much for this. Subscribed and watching all your videos.

Jeeeeez,... that first hover is more stable then a Phantom, out of the box. I got a P2 to be nearly that stable, after a day or so of tweaking the gain settings, and the H1 comes that stable??!! Wondering if I could fit it to the TT Innovator I have sitting here,...
ALZRC just released all new 700 Beast :) I am trying to get that. but i am kind of worried setting a 700 size with H1. GPS are GPS, what if there is a glitch? a 700 can kill people. gotta be extremely careful hahaha. but I will try to get a 380 Fast Devil and install H1 on that.
Pretty cool now I can mow my lawn question does it no how to land in the same spot it took off without a compass calibration. With a drone you have to do the circle thing.???in order for it to land were you take it off.???

Hello if u make invert yourself not with option switch it still save the copter stability never mind if it normal fly or invert fly ? So u can try make flip loop and if something not good and live stick the copter be stability ?
Hi Friend I love your videos you are the best!!!! I have a question for you because I recently have the H1 gps module in my X5 helicopter. It ´s amazing and nice to learn. But I have a problem in 3D mode because in some of the figures H1 GPS correct the helicopter tail in roll and yaw axes when I doing funnels and Pyro flips. Do you have any remomnedations becaus I adjusted de gain on the settings but it´s the same. Thank you and I look forward hearing from you.

Does it fail safely when you select RTH, circle, figure 8, etc when you're in the inverted mode? I'm quite impressed that they've achieved this level of autonomy at such a low price. Do you have any further resources to read regarding the flight controller and how it was developed?
Failsafe RTH will activate only if helicopter is flying normal (GPS mode). If heli is inverted or in 3D mode, normal or inverted in 3D mode. RTH will not activate.
I gotta tell you,, they should thank you for this video, as I purchased two of these, ,,lol because of your video, been really wanting to learn helo and never did, as I had a few bad experiences about 20 years ago,, so now, I can finally do it, also you mentioned that to do inverted, I would need 4s batteries, what batteries have you used, so I can order up a couple before I get my helicopters,, thanks in advance, also , what battery connector are they using,

@@alishanmao Paul Pursuits the GPS system exist since long years ago but it was trully expensive for RC helis. the H1 system or other alternatives are surely cheaper than a crash kit or a bunch of hours spent with a club teacher

alishanmao I wasn’t sure which site to buy it from so I ordered one through Banggood . Will I be getting the same copter with the same features as on “only flying machines” website because I noticed the battery on Banggood is a 3S not 4S as per OFM. I managed to download the manual from fly wing website and it doesn’t say anything about doing a calibration? would I still need to calibrate once I receive the copter ?
I am not sure about that buddy. Banggood has their own system and setup. We have our own setup. as for now, we are not offering it with any battery. I am going to update the site and update prices too. because our forwarders can't ship battery. Battery is very easy to find. any 4S 2600mAh to 3300mAh fits just perfect. do remember with 3S do not perform inverted or 3D. because with 3S it does not offer enough power to do 3D. you can only fly normal with 3S. yes Compass calibration is a must first time and if you change city or fly at different location, best to calibrate compass.

one Banggood price is really insane high. 2nd with 3S battery? thats not good for 3D at all. do not attempt 3D with 3S battery. maybe you still can cancel the order while you have time :)
Thank you very much for this excellent video I have a couple of questions. In the initial configuration of the radio control, do you select heli or airplane? and if you select heli is h1? Do you need a 9 channel receiver to program the invert? And the last, dual rates, throttle curve and pitch curve must not be configured on the radio control? Thank you for your help
hi Ali,, a couple of months ago I commented abut impossibility to fly the FW450 inverted in 3D mode (no GPS): I was completely wrong as I flipped it today manually: very smooth ans safe.It seems 3D mode is actually implementing an IDLE UP throttle curve(-12° tpp +12° pitch) so you can fly it inverted as a normal 3D hely. Apologize for the previous mistake!

I'm getting back into the hobby after selling all my helis a few years ago and I enjoy scale flying the best. I was considering just grabbing an XK K123 and hoping it would scratch my itch to fly again, then I thought about how much i enjoyed my Logo 10 and my Trex 450's. I'd consider a 500 size ship and build, but I do love the simplicity and convenience of small (450 size) helis using DD motors and this flight control system looks pretty tough! thoughts?

I have ordered the fw 450 but not sure on the replacement battery. the overall dimensions would be great so I can keep going after the supplied battery dies. thanks in advance.
A guy used a 4S 10000mAh battery and flew for 1 hour. he did not do inverted or 3D. which obviously for FPV you won't so yes Long range FPV is possible
Hi Ali.Nice video, very instructive and detailed review.I have my FW450 since a few weeks and I have a doubt:my fw450 is equipped with H1 Lite as you show in your video. IS there any difference with H1 Heli which is sold separately? Apparently the software detects the H1HEli and enables additional menu (e.g. "Parameters") while H1 Lite doesn't. Am I wrong?
H1 Lite is only for FW450 RTF. H1 AP is the full Autopilot. I have not tried it with the existing software yet. but have not seen any different software either.
@@alishanmao Hi thanks for the answer but the doubt remains: I cannot access for example how "robotic" the GPS fly mode is, I would like to fly a little more "naturally". I cannot even create another model...Moreover in GPS mode the pitch is correctly -12° to +12°, if I switch to 3D mode then pitch is -3° +14°. If I try to set it correctly for 3D mode, then GPS has wrong pitch range and viceversa. How can I do? One more point is about using 4S battery when flying inverted: this should be stated very clearly, capital letters on the box. That costed me a crash (inverted with 3S battery), luckily without any damage. The HELi is very sturdy and well designed, omly some more instructions are needed. Thanks
Calibrated and all good. Got a solid Green light but motor will not fire up Sticks down and out but still no go. Pulling my hair out what's left of it. Any non rude suggestions? Please.
Pull throttle stick down and out and hold for 3 seconds. see if the Green LED Starts blinking. Once it does, hit the arm switch and it will start motors.
@@alishanmao Done that, no go! Changed from mode two to mode one. IE throttle on the right. problems started after changing modes. PS rx also not binding.
Ok so here is the thing. every time you make any change at radio side, you have to do two calibrations Say you changed radio mode. now you must do radio sticks calibration using radio menus. after this connect the H1 Autopilot to computer, and click on Sticks Calibration in the software. then move radio sticks. also make sure the PWM values of throttle should be 1000 minimum, and 1500 is center value for all channels. same goes for other channels. once you have done both calibrations, you can unlock motors. and fly

Ali...question. if you have the FW450 set LVRTH in the on position and are flying in the inverted position, what will happen if the LVRTH activates? Will the FW450 revert to normal flight and RTH? Could something bad happen or will we have a successful landing? We really need this information.
it will land inverted :D hahahah trust me. Done that a couple of times. it lands inverted so stable. So if ever this happens, do not panic. let it touch the blades to ground and asap blades touch ground, hit disarm switch and you will be fine.

Hi Ali, do you have to calibrate each time? Or does it store calibration for a year for example? Also do you know, if I want to use my Horus 12S Open Tx with that, does it work with Multi Modul?

yes, choose in Assist software, by connecting H1 AP to Computer. Easy mode, so in inverted GPS assisted mode, all controls stay same as i demonstrated. and if you choose Professional in Assist software, then going inverted in any mode will reverse all the controls as the normal 3D Helicopter would do.
DId You test also the Bell 206 with H1? Does it also make a invert flight and EIGHT? What do you think? I buy one H2 for a 500er Scaler in the hope to use it with my Horus. Now I fly it with Naza H at moment but I want to try H1
My H1 takes off automaticly in the air. Where can i adjust this in the software? I don't want it to take off automaticly in the height after hitting the run switch. Having the same transmitter btw. A Salam Alaikoem

You say, in this RUclips movie, that you use not 3s but 4s battery when inverting your helicopter. Please let me know whether it is possible to invert a helicopter equipped with H1-GPS using 3s battery.
it depends upon helicopter, if your helicopter originally designed to perform 3D with 3S, you can do it. its just that for FW450, 3S is for normal flying only, and 4S that offers more power to perform 3D.
While flying my fw 450 inverted it would not return to regular flight so I had to land it upside down (OUCH) all repaired now before flying again is there any way to check what caused it to stay inverted???? thanks TONY

In inverted and 3D Flight, RTH is disabled. RTH will activate on demand or low battery failsafe only if helicopter is in GPS mode and not flying inverted. so best to use a low voltage beeper on battery and if its beeping, go normal flight, GPS mode and land.

Hi ali ther is so much talk about the H1 heli but all have diifrent ideas. You have one. what battery comes with it some saw 2200 4s some saw 4200 3s, does transmitter have the throttle so it stays in middle like drone or full range throw,also pics show 2 blade rear rotor some show 3 blade whitch one,some dont mention inverted flight.pics of trans dont show inverted, they say 1 swith not used, cant make up there minds. thks John
yes some seller provide 4S and some 3S. 4S can perform 3D, 3S is just for scale flight without aerobatics. throttle is in the mid like a drone throttle. Factory sends 3 blade tail rotor.
I know that if the battery voltage is low, the H1 flight control will not let you invert the helicopter. What happens if you are already flying inverted and the battery voltage drops low and the H1 tells the FW450 to come home?

compass calibration is a must before first flight. Return to home landing even without compass calibration is precise.

I am not sure about that buddy. Banggood has their own system and setup. We have our own setup. as for now, we are not offering it with any battery. I am going to update the site and update prices too. because our forwarders can't ship battery. Battery is very easy to find. any 4S 2600mAh to 3300mAh fits just perfect.
do remember with 3S do not perform inverted or 3D. because with 3S it does not offer enough power to do 3D. you can only fly normal with 3S.
yes Compass calibration is a must first time and if you change city or fly at different location, best to calibrate compass.

one Banggood price is really insane high. 2nd with 3S battery? thats not good for 3D at all. do not attempt 3D with 3S battery. maybe you still can cancel the order while you have time :)
Thank you very much for this excellent video I have a couple of questions. In the initial configuration of the radio control, do you select heli or airplane? and if you select heli is h1? Do you need a 9 channel receiver to program the invert?
And the last, dual rates, throttle curve and pitch curve must not be configured on the radio control?

hi Ali,, a couple of months ago I commented abut impossibility to fly the FW450 inverted in 3D mode (no GPS): I was completely wrong as I flipped it today manually: very smooth ans safe.It seems 3D mode is actually implementing an IDLE UP throttle curve(-12° tpp +12° pitch) so you can fly it inverted as a normal 3D hely. Apologize for the previous mistake!
no worries. in fact, in 3D manual mode skilled pilots have done some serious smack down you know

I'm getting back into the hobby after selling all my helis a few years ago and I enjoy scale flying the best. I was considering just grabbing an XK K123 and hoping it would scratch my itch to fly again, then I thought about how much i enjoyed my Logo 10 and my Trex 450's. I'd consider a 500 size ship and build, but I do love the simplicity and convenience of small (450 size) helis using DD motors and this flight control system looks pretty tough! thoughts?

Yes you can. you can choose professional controls in the assist program and everything stays inverted the way it has to be.

Hi Ali.Nice video, very instructive and detailed review.I have my FW450 since a few weeks and I have a doubt:my fw450 is equipped with H1 Lite as you show in your video. IS there any difference with H1 Heli which is sold separately? Apparently the software detects the H1HEli and enables additional menu (e.g. "Parameters") while H1 Lite doesn't. Am I wrong?
H1 Lite is only for FW450 RTF. H1 AP is the full Autopilot. I have not tried it with the existing software yet. but have not seen any different software either.

I cannot even create another model...Moreover in GPS mode the pitch is correctly -12° to +12°, if I switch to 3D mode then pitch is -3° +14°. If I try to set it correctly for 3D mode, then GPS has wrong pitch range and viceversa. How can I do?
One more point is about using 4S battery when flying inverted: this should be stated very clearly, capital letters on the box. That costed me a crash (inverted with 3S battery), luckily without any damage. The HELi is very sturdy and well designed, omly some more instructions are needed. Thanks

Calibrated and all good. Got a solid Green light but motor will not fire up Sticks down and out but still no go. Pulling my hair out what's left of it. Any non rude suggestions? Please.
Pull throttle stick down and out and hold for 3 seconds. see if the Green LED Starts blinking. Once it does, hit the arm switch and it will start motors.
@@alishanmao Done that, no go! Changed from mode two to mode one. IE throttle on the right. problems started after changing modes. PS rx also not binding.
Ok so here is the thing. every time you make any change at radio side, you have to do two calibrations
Say you changed radio mode. now you must do radio sticks calibration using radio menus.
after this connect the H1 Autopilot to computer, and click on Sticks Calibration in the software. then move radio sticks.
also make sure the PWM values of throttle should be 1000 minimum, and 1500 is center value for all channels. same goes for other channels.
once you have done both calibrations, you can unlock motors. and fly

Ali...question. if you have the FW450 set LVRTH in the on position and are flying in the inverted position, what will happen if the LVRTH activates? Will the FW450 revert to normal flight and RTH? Could something bad happen or will we have a successful landing? We really need this information.
it will land inverted :D hahahah trust me. Done that a couple of times. it lands inverted so stable. So if ever this happens, do not panic. let it touch the blades to ground and asap blades touch ground, hit disarm switch and you will be fine.

there are actually some Sbus Converters for Spektrum Radios. pretty cheap and very tiny lightweight. using that will solve the issue.

you can. For throttle has to be in mid position for GPS helis. which is a tricky part with radios that do not have spring loaded throttle.

Does it have a GPS assisted inverted mode but where the sticks are NOT reversed? ie. so you can practise inverted with all the 'normal' up=down, etc?
yes, choose in Assist software, by connecting H1 AP to Computer. Easy mode, so in inverted GPS assisted mode, all controls stay same as i demonstrated. and if you choose Professional in Assist software, then going inverted in any mode will reverse all the controls as the normal 3D Helicopter would do.

Please let me know whether it is possible to invert a helicopter equipped with H1-GPS using 3s battery.
it depends upon helicopter, if your helicopter originally designed to perform 3D with 3S, you can do it. its just that for FW450, 3S is for normal flying only, and 4S that offers more power to perform 3D.

Next time, I will try to invert my T-REX 450 Pro using a 3s 2200mAh battery, which is much lighter than 3300mAh.
While flying my fw 450 inverted it would not return to regular flight so
I had to land it upside down (OUCH) all repaired now before flying

Ali, how far have you got installing the H1 into another heli? Im planning to install into a V450D03 but I'm nervous!
I have ordered a new Helicopter kit. should arrive in few days. then will build the kit, and install H1. to make a tutorial video. but the way I am packed with work and different products from different companies to review it will take a month for the video to appear. probably LOL. but will try my best to do it soon
What happens if you are hovering inverted and "grass cutting", then hit RTH? Does it fly up high and right itself first?
In inverted and 3D Flight, RTH is disabled. RTH will activate on demand or low battery failsafe only if helicopter is in GPS mode and not flying inverted. so best to use a low voltage beeper on battery and if its beeping, go normal flight, GPS mode and land.
With this technology. Now we can have a flying car.

if you go to another city maybe yes, means only if you feel heading hold is not right. do calibration else no need

just add a Spektrum Receiver. But it takes only SBUS so you will need a SBUS Convertor for spektrum

Hi ali ther is so much talk about the H1 heli but all have diifrent ideas. You have one. what battery comes with it some saw 2200 4s some saw 4200 3s, does transmitter have the throttle so it stays in middle like drone or full range throw,also pics show 2 blade rear rotor some show 3 blade whitch one,some dont mention inverted flight.pics of trans dont show inverted, they say 1 swith not used, cant make up there minds. thks John
yes some seller provide 4S and some 3S. 4S can perform 3D, 3S is just for scale flight without aerobatics. throttle is in the mid like a drone throttle. Factory sends 3 blade tail rotor.
I know that if the battery voltage is low, the H1 flight control will not let you invert the helicopter. What happens if you are already flying inverted and the battery voltage drops low and the H1 tells the FW450 to come home?
