My takeaway was that they had incorporated PPE into the storyline rather than focusing on real world events.

Private practice was in Los Angeles. Station 19 and Grey’s are both in Seattle next to each other, it makes sense they crossover more frequently.
Jacoby McCrary personally I love the crossovers and I love season 3 of station 19. I acc preferred it overall to season 16 of greys, obviously episodes like 8 and 16 were amazing but overall I way preferred watching station 19

Grey's anatomy and station 19 are made by the same creators, if course they want to Promote Station 19 using Grey's. I mean like Grey's gonna end soon, and Station 19 would takeover somehow.

@@marzadky4934 I dont see ABC letting their only drama performing well go. I think, at this point, they will try to keep it alive even after EP leaves. They have nothing else to replace it with. S19's success is completely tied to GA. That is why it still needs to feed off GA like a leach to do well. Which is fine, I guess, if it works. But the show is not very self sufficient.

Riley Brown I get it and I’m not hating but it’s annoying as a viewer of Greys to have to constantly be watching the Station storylines every other week.
I quite like Station 19 however the crossovers don't work in the UK because the shows don't air alongside one another (I wanna say there was a 6 month gap in the most recent seasons) so I constantly wonder what I am missing.
This BETTER be the one good thing that comes out of 2020

Wow this actually looks very nice. NEVER watched a single episode of Station 19, and I was keeping my hopes low with Grey's. The Station 19 premiere looks pretty darn good. And Greys always finds a way to come back up. I'm in
JohanL10 i definitely recommend station 19. for me at least its such a good show and there are a few crossovers with grey’s.
You won’t know the complete stories on Grey’s characters to me if you don’t watch S.19 too. The bonus is, it’s a really good show too!

The writers killed greys. It was so wholesome yet scandalous in ways that were believable and not over dramatized. And the Crossovers, for god sakes stop it already! I miss this being about the interns, turned residents turned attendants. But who am I kidding if the cast wasn't so toxic before maybe we could of had all the characters still :/ Just before I hop off, will they pay Sandra Oh atleast all the money she wants to get back on the show?!??! they kept bringing her up last season with the texting. Get the woman back please at least. Y'all killed Derek and had Alex go back to Izzy of all people, get Mer her Yang back! Okay thanks for coming to my ted talk.

💯percent agree with you. Cristina made the show FUNNY. It’s not the same without her. And they were👏🏼 L👏🏼A👏🏼Z👏🏼Y👏🏼 on Alex it does not fit his character on the show to leave without saying goodbye in person. And don’t make sense why he would go back to IZZY 😡.

Definitely seems like Bailey is going to get Covid. It would be logical given her heart health. I know they planned to kill off someone major at the end of last season that never happened, so I wonder if they will use Covid to do it....and if it will be Bailey. I thought that the final 4 had committed to sticking it out together til the end (they discussed their pact in interviews), but then we lost Alex, so maybe all bets are off at this point considering it seems like Ellen is game to do a few more seasons. (My guess is 20 seasons now, for the end place)
Jackson Avery was supposed to die last season but because of COVID they cut the season short by one episode which was supposed to be a crossover event
Chile Anyways so basically during the crossover that was supposed to happen there was an explosion that would’ve killed him off. Similar to the one in (I think) season 10 when he ran to the bus to save a little girl then the bus exploded
Kevin G they never said who was supposed to die. Everyone just assumed that that it was Jackson since Jessie is going to broadway soon.
The season was cut four episodes short. Yes someone was supposed to die but Krista said because it got cut short they scrapped their original plan and instead of just starting the new season with those episodes they’re changing it up and doing something different so idk if they are still gonna kill someone off or not.
Using COVID to kill a character off would be incredibly insensitive, they're not gonna do that

@@lapniappe exactly, when you FORCE a connection people are over it. Like we started watching Greys FOR Greys characters we didn’t start season one to be like oh I sure hope 16 years from now they create a fire department show that crosses over with this show.
The greys and PP cross overs actually made sense cause the characters were great and everybody had the same career also there was only like 2/4 cross overs entirely not every damn series premiere. It is super stifling to relate to the S19 characters cause I am watching Greys for Greys characters not them so it makes me resent them even more because they are taking my grey time away haha.
They are just trying to keep the show vibrant and alive which is great but it’s like maybe you should just let it trickle off with some grace while it is still exciting. They are running out of stories.

I hope this doesn’t sound bad, but I hope whatever “pandemic” hits the show, be it COVID or a fictional virus, it’s not just for a few episodes, but rather maybe for a whole season.
People watch tv shows and stuff to escape whats happening in the real world. Why would you want us to go through that again in a loved tv show?
WallaBeHigh TV Shows also have the power to showcase something that an average person might never see, like how a pandemic effects the lives of doctors.
they have said they will incorporate covid to the show. the new season is set to start over month into covid and a few months beyond where the last season ended, so not continuing straight from the last season time wise. i think it will definitely play a role in the season if they have said this.
@@mann7298 they have announced that covid will play a role, I think it's had too big of an impact on our lives to not confront. Sort of like how B99 is going to deal with BLM and police brutality subjects in their season.

If you look closely you'll see, that there are actually some new scenes in there. And of course it has old scenes in it. The shooting for the new season just started a month ago and also 4 episodes from season 16 couldn't be shot because of the pandemic... ;)
Still trying to make Station 19 happen, huh. The other Greys spinoff didn't need this many crossovers. It stood on its own two feet.

Station 19 actually has good ratings. Their taking a page from the CW with the super hero’s and doing cross overs linking the shows. The CW had great reviews at all platforms because of it. Private practice only lasted a few seasons, 6 I believe. So it really didn’t stand on its own leg or it be still going. Right or wrong, this is just the reason for the cross overs.

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I don't like station 19, never have and hate it when they blend them together.
Station 19 is quite boring! I started watching Chicago Fire to see how another fire show is handled and it’s absolutely brilliant!! Really recommend it and Chicago PD too (not the biggest fan of Chicago Med though compared to the other 2)- they do crossovers across the 3 shows though but I enjoy them and feel they’re done far better than Greys and Station 19 (who tried to emulate Dick Wolf’s success but fall short in that area).
@@kutekittykat1 I love the Chicago crossovers! And when they did a crossover with SVU, amazing! Not a fan of Station 19 and I don't want to watch the crossovers.
The first season of station 19 is bad, but the rest of it is great. I think greys Anatomy is the same way.

@@vamosrafa8841 before i started watching station 19 i didn't think it would be a good show, so i just never watched the station 19 side of the crossovers and i was still able to understand everything that happened. you are not being forced to watch the station 19 side. and even though you never chose it doesn't mean you wouldnt like it of you tried to watch all of it

I think they kinda have to this season since they are trying to get the message out about how hard the pandemic has hit both firefighters and doctors and the plots will probably flow into each other.

I honestly can't stand the crossover events. I don't like being forced to watch a Station 19 episode if I don't have to.
And it's not "an episode.". It's every single one now. Every time I start a new episode of Grey's I feel like I'm coming in halfway through the story.

@@jadehere9816 They kind of are though. Half the story line for Grey's happens on Station 19 now, making it hard to follow what's happening. For example, Maggie and Jackson's relationship was very confusing for those of us who only watched Grey's.
Almost every episode now feels like you've come in halfway through the story because characters and ideas were introduced on Station 19 first. It makes Grey's really hard to watch.
Omg :16 was the wall of women scene. I will never forget that scene. So empowering. Women standing shoulder to shoulder to make a sexual assault victim feel safe.

What do you guys think about all of these hero/warzone/insane struggle metaphors? Don't get me wrong, firefighters and healthcare workers do amazing work and I'm not trying to discount that, but I'm getting sick of the "they're heroes!" line. I know some people in those fields are feeling that too- they're told they're heroes, but they're getting treated rather poorly by employers and patients. They're told that they're heroes, but all they get are stale donuts and re-used PPE. Obviously this is television, so it's heavily dramatized, but it's so in-your-face. It actually started to bug me a little in this promo, so I'm curious to see what other people think. These are firefighters and surgeons in a developed country. Their job is tough (especially given the global pandemic) but making it seem like they're fighting a crazy war just seems like a bit much...
