Testing of two LNER GIANTS OF STEAM Locomotives featuring 60532 'Blue Peter' & 60163 Tornado

- This video features LNER Class A2 No. 60532 'Blue Peter' & LNER Class A1 No. 60163 'Tornado'.
The locomotives are seen separately at Cosford and the Great Central Railway.
As for this testing seen in this video there's a "tick in the box" on Blue Peter's report for operation of the safety valve. This was unfortunate as it drowned out the sound of the locomotive. Likewise, Tornado's report has a "tick in the box" against operation of the whistles.
Only joking of course but I hope you enjoy the video.
Fabulous video. How wonderful that steam is stil going strong in 2024, one as a new build but the other remarkably as an original loco. Who'd have thought this could happen 50 years ago?
Good point. Thanks for watching and for your valued comment. Regards, John
Wonderfull john to see Blue Peter and Tornado back, seems a while since we have seen 60163 on the mainline, WOW, Steve .
They truly are Giants of Steam Locomotives. Regards, John
Spot on John , great to see BP even with the extra steam plus Tornado is a welcome addition to the mainline.
Steve, There undoubtedly will be more opportunities to capture these two locomotives on the main line. Regards, John
Excellent video of the two steam locos John. 👍👍
Allan, Good to hear from you and thanks for your valued comment. Regards, John
Nice video well done I video Blue Peter departing Shrewsbury Station, amazing loco.

Nice captures John. It's really good to see these locos back in service after such long absences
Austin, Thanks for your comment and talking of absences there haven't been many of your high quality videos from your good self of late. Regards, John
Not really done much John as don't think it's worth a 200 odd mile round trip to get yet another shot of Tangmere being shoved! Couldn't get up for 60007 and we're currently away on holiday.
Austin, I get your point and as for Tangmere (and forgive the pun) it has been overexposed. Hope is going well or went well. Regards, John
Nicely captured John, they need to be sending both these loco up our way, regards nige👍
Nige, Yes I guess you have seen Tangmere a few times this year although it always looks spectacular. Regards, John
Great footage John. I was at Shrewsbury and then Shifnal Station for Blue Peter myself
Hi Andy, Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
Great Video John. It’s amazing to see these LNER Giants back in service. It was also good to see you at Cosford for Blue Peter.
Regards, James.
James, Good to meet you again and until the next time thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
superbly done John!
Hope you’re well mate :)
Shame about the bloody safety valves blowing off, but 60163’s chime whistle has been missed Thats for sure :)
Catch up soon mate
Liam, Thanks for your comment and having just escaped from being bowled by a freight train at Cosford I guess the safety valves were a minor distraction. Regards, John
Great video of Blue Peter and Tornado.
Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
A very nice video well done
That's very kind of you to say so. Regards, John

Jeez! Blue Peter blowing off continuously…
Thanks for watching and for your valued comment. Regards, John
@@GreatBritishRailways1 sorry John, I should have only added glowing remarks as has become popular with the current ‘woke’ culture. Unfortunately I am from an earlier generation, where shortcomings are not only observed but also highlighted. If you don’t find this agreeable, may I suggest changing your video setting to ‘private’ or ‘unlisted’ whereby only you and people you choose to send a link to can view it. If however you choose to leave the setting as “public” then you have to be prepared to accept all comments!
I am unsure what your point is here and by the way I am 72 years old and therefore part of the older generation. Your comment was perfectly reasonable and in line with what you saw on the video. My response was polite and in keeping with how I run my RUclips channel. I respond politely to all comments whether good or bad and try to provide answers where questions are raised. Regards, John
@@GreatBritishRailways1 apologies John, I thought you were trying to be sarcastic. No offence intended.
No sarcasm but just a means of ensuring that all comments are politely responded to. I am glad we were able to clear this matter up and I look forward to receiving your comments in the future should you desire to. Regards, John
