I offer massive respect to you for not flipping it and getting a Prius or a mini van. That car is a legacy and a not so silent reminder of how far we've slipped. Steve cracks me up! He has successfully made this Ford guy look harder at the old Mopars. I do appreciate his love for the Bang Shift Cougar as well. Thanks for what you do Steve.
Awesome car, that wheel and tire combo really makes the car! When you backed out and left for a test drive I thought I was watching an episode of Dukes of Hazzard or Vanishing Point👍🏻
Reminds me of my 68 Road Runner I purchased brand new when I was 17. 383 4spd, bench seat, rubber mats, Sierra tan with black guts, post pop out rear windows, and AM radio. $2887 on the sticker. What an awesome car! 335hp, big brakes, Dana rear end, sway bars, all for under 3k.
Dulcich, I am so happy that you are out and about, to say that you and the humor that you bring to the table is priceless. Thanks for sharing your time, work, and sense of humor is awesome.
Hot rod dude, Road Runners were really built for top-end performance. Many stories handed down from us old-timers on the 160 mph chases on weekend nights. Catch me if you can. Beep Beep! 👍
Dulcich you’re a beast! That 383 screams! It would have been a blast growing up with you doing irresponsible stuff. My closest friend through school had a ‘70 Challenger R/T SE with a screaming 340. It had been raced before he got it so I don’t know if that was the original mill in the car. Good Times!

Steve I love that car thank you so much for getting ur channel back up and going I know it's extremely time consuming. U are very appreciated.. thanks josh from Kentucky.
Great video Steve 👍 I have said it before, but my very first time in a muscle car, was in a '69 Road Runner. An older friend had that car, back in the mid '70's, and he took me for a ride in his badass RoadRunner...it was B5 blue... 383 with an A833 4 speed...he gave me a hell of a ride...lol.. watching your video, brought back fond memories... thanks!
Best RUclips road test in years. Totally watchable start to end. Enthralling! Not that I’m bias. Just putting together my own 69 Wreckrunner in Kiwiland. I know you’ve been here and see the Mopar’s. Anyway the Runners sat up since 87, maybe in a barn, in California. Between yours and Birdsongs tips, my 383 4speed is coming along well sleeper styles and should hopefully upset the shiny ones a bit 🤣
Great video. Love the knowledge and rationale behind your swap out choices. The stripped out interior reminds me of my Mini Cooper S built from scrap yard parts. Nothing in it that didn’t make it go faster. More vids like this please.
Steve, you are a cool cat! You bring more common sense and solid knowledge to the Mopar community than almost anyone on YT. I miss my 68 RR...have a 64 Polara Max Wedge now just for the strip....We need a track in Utah again! Hope to meet up one day. Grace and Peace
Hello Steve. Man Your super cool. And your 1968 Plymouth Road Runner is awesome. Sounds amazing. I love it. The road runner is one of my favorite American muscle cars all time. You Rock. And your car is impressive.
Looks like you learned to drive the same way I did , I took my dads 69 road runner out one day when I was 13 years old and tought myself to drive it was a 383 4 speed car took a few blocks to get the hang of it .that was the most exciting ride i ever took .
It’s been my father life long dream to have roadrunner . Just like you he knows he can’t find a real roadrunner and growing up as a kid all I would hear is my dad say how he could build a roadrunner clone out of a satellite! We have a 383 that needs a forged internally balanced crank unfortunately the original crank bit the dust so way back whe PAW was around performance warehouse! The only cranks they had were junk cast cranks from 400 ci. So long story short has the less desirable crank but pretty much same topend build as yours. Got a 727 with a shift kit and a tci 2800 stall all been sitting in a shed since early 2000’s . Waiting for a satellite shell to be built around it! Your living the dream !
Nice to visit with you. Enjoying the simple things in car machines we grew up with. Gets lonely in the boonies.. I know. Was from central Michigan when we began the National Hemi owners assn. in 75
Of all the car's you guy's have saved this is one of my favorites. I bought a 69 road runner in 73 for $700.00. It was immaculate & regret not keeping it but it lives on through you. You know your number's we all appreciate you honesty.
I'm sad I didn't get my notification for this. But I got to hear the gorgeous sound of an American V8 and a mopar on top of that. And a 68 Road Runner. My dad had a 69. Still remember being pushed into the seat with the acceleration. And again all 8 slugs hitting, making that beautiful music.
Haa ha ha! Dulcich is just too much fun! I gotta laugh! What an awesome old school man! So from my "Limited" understanding The "Brodie" or "Brody" or perhaps even "Broady" (I'm just not sure) anyway it's basically the opposite of the "Rockford" but not quite as difficult. I like it. Perhaps I'll try one one day. LOL.
This car is the perfect blend of stark and savage. Steve, if the "Roadtest" series is merely a bunch of launches and bangshifts... well, then, by all means, let's see some more!
This is the best RK garage project to date. Awesome you bought it. I have a 70 383/auto been a project for years. It sees regular burnouts while i move it in and out to work on other stuff.
Good luck on the car. I’m waiting on a 69 Mustang Fastback my dad left me after a frameoff restomodding. He got it in the late 90s off the first owner with just about everything it came with new. It was a bit ratted out from sitting outdoors for over a decade at least. Almost done but the waiting is killing me. Love to see others bring any car back from the brink. I owned a pretty rough 65 coupe with a 289 and 4 speed no other extras. Drums all around and no air or power steering. Still loved driving it as it was an experience. Had to sell it after getting out the army and starting a family.
Can't wait to see more of the 440 build. I just picked up 2 a 77 and 78. Plan to build one for my D150 and the other for a future project I haven't purchased yet.
That's an awesome car Dulcich! That car reminds me of my old 79' Lebaron 2-door coupe that I built in my early 20's. I put a 383 727 combo in it with a cop car 8&1/4 rear with the matching leaf springs and swaybar. And the best interior is no interior, in the event of a fire, of course.
