Finally!! A reviewer that knows how to use a measuring tape and not just babble on about so many cubic feet this or that. Nice to see real world measurements. From Toronto Canada Eh.
Just got mine, used! Someone showed they could fit a twin mattress in the back (with seats down!) This is awesome as it’s just me, and my little dog who loves the great outdoors as much as I do! ❤
Going to pick mine up today, and wanted to understand more about it before I drove it. I need to find more information on the touch screen , but I really liked your video today, was a very good overall review for me!!
Thanks for explanation! Me and my significant other are looking into this one with driver assistant packages added on for me and my 3 year old! Super excited for this one!
I bought my wife a new Outback last November. It’s Cinnamon brown with Ivory interior interior. My wife LOVES her Subie. After my car wears out, hopefully the Outback will be offered in a hybrid. If not, I’ll buy a Toyota Venza hybrid as long as I can buy one with tan or brown leather interior. If Toyota still offers the Venza with the coffin black or gloomy grey interior, then I’ll go back to Subaru so I can get it with the ivory leather interior.
Excellent job👏👏 Sir very detailed .i hope to include car set for kids in your next future videos it will help us we can see differences as family perspective.👍👍👍i can't wait to see more videos on you 🙂
I like the old design of Subaru Outback the one it shows in here the white color one or the blue greenish one .nowadays all car or suv looks like egg 🥚 design,,,, old models has the best design and good looking cars 🚗 or suvs 🚙
The Adaptive Cruise Control is camera based on these cars, and yes they do stop and go traffic! Here is a video I made showing how it works: ruclips.net/video/R6wP7dhyKDk/видео.html
The one thing that gets me so WTF is when RUclips reviewers do the higher grade Outback’s and not the lower / starter end of the Outback even the Sport! Cannot find any reviews for the vehicle I want!! ARGH!!
@@CarDietrich the land down under aka Australia. I have a 2022 Sport almost in my driveway just waiting on it to be delivered to the dealership ARGH! hopefully this month early next month it is ready!
Ahh OK. Well I'm not sure how the trims work in Australia, but in the USA where I am the Premium is only one level up from the most basic model, so the Outback I reviewed here is one of the lower trim levels. I know in Canada the Premium is what they call the highest trim level, what we call Touring here. One thing I try to do on my channel is review more base model cars because you're right, hardly anyone does that, and when you're small you have to do something to stand out. Anyway, thank you for watching my video and I hope you love your new Outback when you get it!
The Premium has a space saver spare that is full-diameter (for the all-wheel-drive system) but not full width. The Outback Onyx and Wilderness both have full size spare tires.
Make sure the doors are unlocked, and go push on the gas cap door from the outside. That will open it. If the doors are locked it won't open. There's no release on the inside of the car like older Subarus, but I'm sure you've already noticed that lol
I don’t care for the two tone ivory/with black. My 2022 OB the seats are all black. My previous outback was all ivory interior. It stayed clean but I was very careful and I don’t have kids.
Apparently the field of vision is twice as wide with the new setup, and the cameras are flush mounted, but I've had two Subarus with the older Eyesight cameras and haven't had an issue with dusty lenses on either of them
Please correct it if you feel you have a better explanation. But before you take a crack at it please understand I've spent the better part of the decade selling Subarus, and I have been through hours and hours and days and days of Subaru Corporate training.
Well 65" = 5'5". If you lay down diagonally or move the front seats forward you could lay back there even if you're a little taller than 5'5". If you're asking specifically if I can lay back there, no I can't because I'm 6'5".
I took one of these for a test drive today I was absolutely flabbergasted how awful the turbo lag and CVT transmission are what a dog to drive never in the right gear can’t access the power and very very lumpy I’m afraid everything else is great but that killed the deal for me also watch out for the steering wheel it’s not in the centre of of your body and slightly squint guaranteed to give you back issues on a long journey.
You did not drive the standard non-turbo 4 banger, which is a very smooth powerplant. You must have driven a higher trim 2.4 turbo, I hate most all turbos.
Agree, I drove both and the naturally aspirated was very smooth if a little underpowered for the vehicle, I'd say it was an adequate and the best you could expect for the mpg it delivers.
GREAT REVIEW BUT I didn't care for the clean look of the dash....everything is going to touch screen. I've owned two outbacks and I thought the dash with all the knobs were one of the best in the industry. SORRY SUBARU BUT ITS NOT A GOOD LOOK!
I didn't like that big screen at first either, but I have it now in my 2021 Legacy XT and I've gotten used to it. Honestly I'd prefer a few more buttons too but its fine.

Sure is nice to see the rear seat vents in the Premium this year.
Just got this exact car today, just with black interior, really amazed with it
This was an excellent, thorough, and straight to the point review. I very much enjoyed this!
Thank you for watching Addrienne, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Finally some answers! Great Video 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! Very helpful! Would love if you included info on manual or reg Drive! 🙂🙏
I appreciate this video. I am always looking for bang for the buck trims like the premium.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this video of the Premium. I liked how you measure and show the little intricacies with this vehicle.
Going to pick mine up today, and wanted to understand more about it before I drove it. I need to find more information on the touch screen , but I really liked your video today, was a very good overall review for me!!
Thank you for watching my video, and that's an interesting idea for another one.
Have a 2022 premium 11. Happy so far after a year.
Thanks for explanation! Me and my significant other are looking into this one with driver assistant packages added on for me and my 3 year old! Super excited for this one!
You are welcome!
Great car review.
Great and thorough review. Just ordered mine today. Will be in in 2 to three weeks. Can't wait. Thank You.
You're welcome, thank you for watching!
That's some serious room , great video !!!
Thank You For Watching Frank!
Great review! Very informative and in-depth.
Much appreciated Matt!
reserved one today and I can't wait to meet it. the only thing I feel like I'm missing out on is height, but we'll make it work.

Excellent. Quick question - does the 'auto brake hold' stay engaged always or do we have to turn it on everytime we start the outback??
You have to activate it every time you start the car
@@CarDietrich Ohh.. that's a pain
love your videos. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
Thank you so much!
Thanks for a very informative video!
My pleasure!
The covers in back are nice compared to the cheap ones they are putting in many other vehicles🤪
Love that cargo area
“Thanks for looking this long, even though you didn’t like it”. 😂🤣😂, snarky.
Thank you for watching to the end! Lol
Is this a car you would recommend to a family of five? Or is the middle seat too small in the back?
As long as your family isn't too tall, it should work well for you
I like the old design of Subaru Outback the one it shows in here the white color one or the blue greenish one .nowadays all car or suv looks like egg 🥚 design,,,, old models has the best design and good looking cars 🚗 or suvs 🚙
THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT ROOM FOR TALL PEOPLE
That is not a Tonnele cover.... It is simply a storage cover to hide what is in the vehicle when you are shopping
Does the radar cruise control do stop and go in traffic?
The Adaptive Cruise Control is camera based on these cars, and yes they do stop and go traffic! Here is a video I made showing how it works:
ruclips.net/video/R6wP7dhyKDk/видео.html
Watched the video. Can you also resume from stop by tapping the gas or only by hitting the resume button?
You can hit the gas pedal as well.
i have a 2014 forester, does my cargo cover fit like that too?
Yep.
The one thing that gets me so WTF is when RUclips reviewers do the higher grade Outback’s and not the lower / starter end of the Outback even the Sport! Cannot find any reviews for the vehicle I want!! ARGH!!

Does it have a REAL spare tire or a donut spare and they are DANGEROUS.
The Premium has a space saver spare that is full-diameter (for the all-wheel-drive system) but not full width. The Outback Onyx and Wilderness both have full size spare tires.
How do you open the gas cap? I have a loaner. Thanks in advance.

@@CarDietrich You saved my life!! Thank you very much :) :) :)

@@CarDietrich They charge you fifty dollars if you don't replace the gas that you used, when you return the car. Yikes!!
Wish it was a hybrid

John, do you have the Premium trim with black cloth? I prefer the two-tone look over just black due to the blackness everywhere.
How tall are you?
6'5"
The new 2022 forester's eyesight looks more advanced, it's the eyesight 4. I think this 2022 outback still has the eyesight 3
You are correct, the 2022 Forester has updated Eyesight cameras.
@@CarDietrich no more dusty lens and improved wider camera view by what I've seen. Maybe better lane assist tho.

I think your explanation of Sym. AWD needs correction.

👌🏼
can you lay down in the back with the rear seats folded I am surprised it is that short with rear seats folded.
Well 65" = 5'5". If you lay down diagonally or move the front seats forward you could lay back there even if you're a little taller than 5'5". If you're asking specifically if I can lay back there, no I can't because I'm 6'5".
I did watch a review of a grown man who fitted a twin mattress in the back and laid diagonally! He looked comfy! 🙂
