RIP Chadwick Boseman
He was one of the best parts about this movie
VONTAE MACK NO MATTER WHAT
He was the best part of damn near everything he touched.
@@oldmanian yeah, you're not lying. Great actor, great man.
Wakanda Forever.
Most unrealistic thing about this movie is that the best QB prospect in the nation plays for the Badgers
Russell wilson should have been the highest-rated qb prospect when he was drafted, but point taken.
Scott Matheson He would’ve been if we wasn’t under 6 feet.
The Buckeye stuff makes sense though, which is nice
As a Badger alum, yeah, that was the first thing that stood out to me. There's fiction, and then there's FICTION.
It'd be less realistic if he played for the Gophers.
Following this Cinderella draft, the Browns went 0-16 that year.
Ugh. Don't remind me...I gave up when the Bengals mowed us down 34-10 in Week Five. I used my Sundays to work at my store instead.
I read that with a Morgan Freeman voice.
LOL
Robert Garcia bro same 💀😂
This isn't real
that ref got a concussion from that slap on the shoulder. he was out for 7 weeks.
S L A P on the shoulder
I think the people defending the scouting are missing a key point here. It's not about the scouting on Bo, and not catching a couple of bad plays. They HAD been scouting Mack! This was the biggest game of his college career. And yet, they all were clueless to the fact he got EJECTED for touching a ref?? That's the part that is completely unrealistic. Even for the Browns.
I'm not sure if this is super unrealistic, it's just one game and it's not like they review the broadcast. They review the coaches tape instead and tbh the GM wouldn't necessarily do any of the film study himself (depends on the GM i think).
IdkMaybeShawn most gms do as well
Plenty of times where a coach and gm has different opinions
Also the nfl scouts everything a lot like baseball
They look at ejections
Team disputes
They will talk to your coach everything
At least if your a big prospect
A few guys talk about it
Like how teams knew Lawrence and micheal Irvin did coke and still drafted them
@@jakobrodriguez290 nothing wrong with a few ripper magoos before a game lol
DeadlyCatfish at that time dudes were doing any drug that’d help you play better 😂
Bo was not Ejected it was Vontae who was ejected
Just remember that the smoking gun during the draft analysis is that nobody went to Bo Callahan’s birthday party.
Maybe if he held his party at Dave & Busters, someone would’ve showed up.😄
That actually make sense if they want a Leader! But If he wasn't a Leader they would know this from centurys ago
I laughed at that in the movie but then I remembered some of the stupid questions they ask at the combine and realized it's not so dumb...and it depressed me.
Spencer rattler.
I can't imagine a football coach/scout saying, "That's pure Roethlisberger! He's pro-ready!"
Agreed but if you are the browns in 2014 and Ben has rattled off 10 straights wins against you you'd think Ben was the gods' gift to football
I watch Big Ben when he was in college. He was a beast!
Ben was a damn good college QB
The list of professional quarterbacks with careers as long and as successful as his are short. If a team today could guarantee big ben output from a new entree, he'd go top 5 easily.
LCBanga 1 i went to Northern Illinois - saw him play a few times against us. He was definitely a beast.
All these years and I am now realizing my boy John Diggle is in this movie!
He's a freaking beast bro
Yea, this was before he became a personal bodyguard to the "Queen" family..... he hadn't accepted that job at Private Security Firm Yet😂😂😂. *Spartan* STAND UP💪🏿🔥
And Bellick from Prison Break
@@BlackFire901 actually it was after this was 2014, arrow started 2012, this was his side gig while Oliver was on the island after season 1
Really?! It was actually one of the first things I noticed while watching this movie.
I love scouting and I've seen this movie like 8 times. There are sooooooo many things wrong with this movie. Vontae Mack is described as a "speedy inside linebacker to plug the holes in a 4-3", yet all his film is as a pass rusher. The bald scout mentions his bullrush, when Vontae did the complete opposite of a bull rush (speed move). And we're led to believe the front office is just now figuring out all this information, when it would have been done months earlier. Still one of my favorite movies though.
Grant Baker .... Well in fairness to the movie, it is about the Browns.
why did you watch this 8 times...
My guess -- a football fan created the script, a non-football fan with more power had script editing power and told the writer to dumb it down for anyone to be able to follow. You'll notice throughout the movie how the script explains the processes to the audience when in reality there is no need for explanation between characters in the scene.
goatcheese4me Yup, it's dumbed down colossally. Plus, anytime the story goes to somewhere new, there has to be a little intro screen to tell you where it is and what team is is that plays there, ie SEATTLE: HOME OF THE JAGUARS.
Like we didn't know that already.
...
..
.
.
You will of course, spot my deliberate mistake.
Ref would never flag anyone for politely handing the ball to a fan, obviously. And who cares that Bo was out for that throw. It was pure Roethlisberger and Bo Callahan is pro ready. Shoulda taken him at the 1.
‘His sister died about 6 months later’ soooooo depending on which month in the fall it would’ve happened like maybe a couple days or weeks before now. Aka ‘His sister just died’
Boo friggin hoo ...
I love how they just realize all this crap at the last second. What a terrible job by the GM and his scouts, can't wait to see them drawing names out of the hat to get guys in the 5th round.
heyymannnnnnn they didn't think they were gonna have the first pick let alone the first pick. of course they're not gonna due their diligence on someone they didn't believe they had a shot at
Isaac Jimenez yeah cause that's how it works.
Jared Pawlak that's exactly how it works.he evens says it in the movie lmao
Isaac Jimenez Lol when do you think teams start scouting?
Jared Pawlak its not the fact they STARTED scouting him. its the fact they didn't go into much depth. Sonny states that even though they did the basic scouting like everyone else they didn't go into much depth like they would if they had a realistic shot at drafting him
“She died about six months later”
Draft is in April, even if this was the first game, she would have died in March so why not say “ she died last month?
"Booo friggen hoo" lol
Not unless it was the previous year. Mack and Bo would’ve had to have played each other multiple times in college (Ohio State and Wisconsin) before they were eligible
Who cares that much it’s a movie lol you took it to heart dork
it shouldn't be that deep but maybe he wanted to emphasize how much time she had left
They said Bo Callahan was a rookie so a freshman
“Barring those two plays he was brilliant.”
Sonny: “Two plays? Bust.”
10 seconds later they show a fumble for six.
Bull rush? Dude beat him with a speed move?
TheACap dat makes me angry to this day
I luv this scene, the other people were too blinded saying “Bo is pro ready and he beat Ohio state”. No he wouldn’t have beaten Ohio state because vonte kept sacking him. If it wasn’t for his ejection, no wouldn’t have won the game. Also RIP chad
The QB can't do the right Tackle's job for him. It is ridiculous.
D End: *goes around offensive lineman*
Guy: "He doesn't have a chance against that bull rush"
When they rewind the final play of the game, it's a different formation and yard line. Also, "Badgers run most of their passing plays out of an empty backfield?" If a team did that they'd be the most telegraphic offense any D faces all year.
Enjoyed this movie enough, but man did it piss me off at times.
* continuity error he said his sister died six months later but the draft is usually four months after the bowl games
Yes I'm sure an NFL team would only be reviewing this footage now, the day before the draft. Makes perfect sense.
TheStapleGunKid No, no, no. This was just a few HOURS before the draft.
@@RUclips.Algorithmic.F___kery such an insulting movie.
@@MrRyan-wu4jx This movie really is stupid 😂
Rest Well, Chadwick.
The point Mack was making was that Callahan is easily rattled. When Mack was on the field Callahan was hearing footsteps in his head. You are not pro ready when the league has one of those guys on every other team.
So I just realized that the first time they watch the play it ISNT an empty backfield and the play starts from the 29. When they rewind to analyze it deeper its an empty backfield starting from the 41
Rip Chadwick Boseman
RIP Chadwick Boseman
“We ain’t running an after school special here”
Ok, but he effectively showed you the guy you want gets twitchy and can’t keep his cool, only able to collect himself and play his best when the guy sacking him was taken out of the game. Had they continued without the ejection by the ref, he’d be shook for the whole game and they wouldn’t be having this conversation
The coach actually wanted a running back, he didnt care for either of the 2.
@@celesgriner2411 it was a dumb comment by the coach, the first running back usually goes mid to late first round which means they'd have plenty of space to get a runningback outside of the first pick
I don't know much about football these days but this has become my favorite sports movie all time. I watch it every time I see it and always get upset we didn't get a pt 2 or something
Man I love Kevin even as an actor. He is really good at doing his job. No one notice that vontae was out of the game. No wonder Bo score the winning ball.
Rest in peace chatwick
Perfect role for Denis "boo friggin hoo" hahaha
RIP Chadwick
Bro captain Stacy, Superman’s dad, Superman, black panther, and John diggle on the same organization
“And I still need a running back”
*Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt enter chat*
I love Dennis Leary, "Boo Fricken Hoo, I still need a running back"!
This writing is so comedic
Boo freaking who, we ain’t running an after school special here!
It's everywhere. We can't escape this. When will they be happy
I'm amazed at how bad this movie is tbh. How can they have *that* many things wrong? First of all Mack (the inside linebacker) is actually an edge rusher. Second they made it totally unrealistic where he's just destroying everyone on every single play. He'd be in contention for 1st pick anyways. Third, why are the in game clips so bad? It literally looks like the TD celebration skit from Key & Peele. Like even if they're not fast, they shouldn't be jogging lol.
It's a freaking movie. Just enjoy. People like you, always nip picking everything wrong with a movie. Its Hollywood!!! You think actual NFL scouts weren't consulted.
Well that wasn't every single play that was a highlight reel
Also it is Bo's fault that the Right Tackle is just a turnstyle for Mack.
Everybody on the field is literally so slow 😂😂
How mad were you when you figured out Darth Vader wasn't real
2:19, he knew then he made the right choice, before we knew it
Costner was all in on Mack from the beginning. He had a note that said Vonte Mack no matter what. You'd think he'd have watching all his film 100 times in excruciating detail. Yet he didn't know this was the game Mack got tossed from.
He knew, dopey. He was setting up for the point he was making.
@@spirojus Tell me you didn't see the movie, without telling me you didn't see the movie
0:48 so base of 1 play that scout made up his mind PRO READY!!! This is a true story about the Browns
“what a move, absolutely bullrushed that right tackle!” *film shows him putting on a speed move*
“aside from those two plays, he was brilliant, threw 4 tds” *10 seconds later shows a different play where he is strip sacked for a touchdown*
Zach Wilson is the real life version of Bo Callahan.
Something that has always bugged me about this scene is the line “she died about 6 months later”
1.) this is a Big Ten Conference game which start usually in October/November
2.) the draft is in April, so do the math
3.) if you somehow come up with a different answer than I’ve been getting then why didn’t they word it differently? Like “she died a month ago or a couple of weeks ago”
4.) for the most part that line only works if they are for some reason looking at their Junior year highlights (assuming they are both seniors)
5.) upon looking at other comments there is much more wrong with this scene alone than just that
It's a freaking movie. Just enjoy it for what it is. No need to do a freaking 10 page report.
It’s so true I’ve thought about that the sister would’ve just died weeks ago haha
Am I the only guy who loves this movie?
Yes , it's a film about a sports game
Execs don't act like this in a war room on draft day.
Most unrealistic thing about this scene is expecting that people know what an after school special is................
I love this movie.
brit1958ian this movie was terrible lol
@Jenn1382 ok? I didnt say he was dumb for saying he loved it.
When Sonny said at 2:19 "That's not some girl guys, that's his sister" and then mentioned she died 6 months after this game, that is an emotional thing right there. Shows you Vontae is a good guy. I'll bet most players if they scored a TD they would just keep the ball or hand it back to the refs. Not Vontae, he knew his sister was sick and wanted her to have something she will remember before she passed. Sweet moment there at 1:56, I wish we had more players in the NFL who did that in real life.
That part that pisses me off is that this bit with his sister would have been national news. Mack is a possible top 10 pick, every part of the sports media would have been all over this story. Everyone at the combine would have asked him about it. It would have been one of the first things anyone knew about Mack, especially the guy with the note that says "Vontae Mack, no matter what".
I find it hard to believe that this is evidence of his "outstanding" character. As if he's better than other players because he gave the ball to his dying sister. I bet all the other players would give their ball to their dying sisters, but none of them have dying sisters.
...aaaaand... if he had such outstanding character, he would know that giving the ball to the fan (even if it's his sister) would draw the penalty, and he wouldn't be the least bit surprised, so he'd accept it without going nuts and hurting his team further. But that wouldn't have worked in the script.
The ejection was for making contact with the ref. You NEVER touch a ref, except to shake hands.
Chadwick Boseman is not that big lol
emmanuel dukes he’s 6’o
Richard Alexander I'm 6,0 and I look small compare to my 6'3 chubby co-worker
Well he is Black Panther, so it's bullshit the NCAA let's him play football, I'm sure he will test positive for something
Lots of actors are not as big as they appear on screen. It's not new
either he gained muscle for the role or they added extra padding to his football pads to look like a big linebacker
This scene just showed the talent is not a problem for the browns, it's their coaches and scouts
What happens when you make a football movie with no football people involved in the making of the football movie.
Whos here after the caleb williams combine 😂😂😂😂😂
Great movie and who does NOT just love Kevin C
Plot twist, the green goblin is the head coach
this is a real scene in a real movie
The dialogue is so bad it’s amazing 😂
WAKANDA FOREVER ♾
R.I.P.
That guy there who says Bo is pro ready, end of story. Go to part of the movie when Sonny says that he thinks Bo is a bust. That guy's reaction is hilarious because his confidence in this scene eventually turned to "WTF"
As a general manager he's the only one looking st the bigger picture on these players the rest of scouts and coach just looking at stats
It's called passion !
Dennis Leary as the 2nd best actor in this movie is telling
Vont'e Mack=King Tchalla/Black Panther
Dennis Leary should write greeting cards.
Bellick seems happy in his new job
😂
I love this movie ❤️
So you have the #1 pick, two top prospects are playing each other and the GM didn’t watch the game? But he knows who the late sister is. This all makes perfect sense
Today... at the Browns’ facility, Jonah ryan was seen knocking on sonny’s door, frantically screaming with tape in hand, “ boss, you gotta see this kid chase Young... he’s getting a lot of buzz after yesterday.”
kevin costner is saul goodman’s brother i swear…
R.I.P Chadwick Boseman
“Where’s the baby, Diego?!!!”
"You lost it?!!!!"
Love this movie. I do have trouble buying Leary as a football coach though
All of this is unrealistic. It’s an entertaining movie tho.
Wakanda forever! RIP Chadwick, we love and miss you. Forever our black panther
Jonathan Kent faked his death just to become the General Manager of the Browns.
OK, I have no idea about American football but I watched it the other day after watching the last performance for What if, to honor Boseman. It still was weird that they hadn't noticed such important things for the player they wanted but also since it was a game of the top prospect...everyone missed the point? I mean even fans would have talked about it.
In reality all these players would’ve been scouted months ahead of the draft lol
I’m pissed he said bull rush when he used his hands in a swim move
I don’t even know where to begin with this.
Black panther played at Ohio State and for the Browns.
WAKANDA FOREVER!
Don’t forget he played Baseball in the 40s-50s for The Dodgers
So now i know how the bears chose Mitch over Mahomes and Watson.
That touching the ref rule shouldn’t result in an ejection if you’re doing something like touching his shoulder to get his attention because that’s nothing, it actually shouldn’t be a rule at all because most contact with the refs are minor or occur when a player is tryna break up a fight
Rip Chadwick
"I think he got ejected"...I think they'd have known that beforehand. Apart from it featuring the Browns as a competent organisation, this movie's so ridiculous.
How many people in that room would’ve been literally at that game?
No. We don't want a pure Ben Roethlisberger. Hide ya kids, hide ya wife .
Lol “we’re running a football team”
Love seeing Wisconsin beat Ohio State.
Let’s just say the Ohio State v Wisconsin game was in October. If Vonte’s sister dies 6 months later, that would be April. The NFL draft is always in April, so she just died days ago. It would be hard to make the argument that the clips were from a year earlier because Vonte Mack and Bo Callahan are up in the same draft and scouts would be looking at the most recent tape.
RIP Chad Boseman
RIP Chadwick 🙏
For first overall pick: what did he get ejected for?
For fifth round pick: never seen him but his name is preety cool sounds like a cornerback
RIP Mr Boseman
The Browns were so disorganized that they confused names. They called Cameron Jordan who had already been drafted. They meant Jordan Cameron
Sometimes.. sometimes the best choice is One with Character outside the spotlight.
noone came to his party ... speaks volumes what his team mates thought of him
I swear the more I was ch of this movie the cornier it gets!😂 The portray this GM character as being the smartest guy in any room.
So these professional football minds, a GM, a head coach, several scouts and analysts are on the verge of making a business decision worth MILLIONS OF DOLLARS by investing in a LB or a QB by watching one game did not realize until DRAFT DAY that the LB who kept the QB off balance all game was ejected and THEN the QB started playing better?? It's no wonder the Browns suck...which is pretty accurate in real life as well!!!
Vontae Mack... VM... Von Miller. Coincidence, or sublime acknowledgment of an elite pass rusher?
What’s crazy is that he mentions she dies 6 months after that and Chadwick boseman died 6 years after this movie… RIP Chadwick
Wow, Bill hicks is a great actor.
Why are people coming on here to talk crap about this movie? If you really don't like it then what's the point? I for one really enjoyed the movie even though it has some really unrealistic trades. Also the jokes about the Browns is old and not funny anymore.Heck the movie is 4 years old. So move along haters
Never seen a Kevin Costner movie i didn't watct at least twice. Whatever it is hes got it.
Even "For the Love of the Game?"
I can't believe any team is ran even close to this
