“I need a punt returner.”
Said no GM ever.
JagsFan '95 Green Bay’s would disagree.
X_Online lmaoooo yeah bc that’s what they said on draft day regarding Desmond Howard. Gtfo
JagsFan '95 it’s the browns lol
The 2010 San Diego Chargers say differently
fjdjfnf sjsjr Really? How many high end draft pick positions did The Chargers give up for it? In a deal to even look even remotely close to the one that was depicted in this movie? I can’t wait to read this.
The owner flew from New York to Cleveland in like 2 draft picks.
I want that jet.
WALTRIPFLAIR the new york Jets
He had those Game of Thrones dragons...
I live in that area and you would be lucky to get to Teterboro Airport (where he was going) from Radio City Music Hall in one hour on a Thursday night, haha.
Oh, did you know the airport this Browns owner had his private jet at was the same airport Tom Hank's character in the movie Sully was hoping to land at? Teterboro Airport deals with smaller planes and fancy jets too. Former Yankees Owner George Steinbrenner had his jet housed there, from NYC. (The airport is in North NJ.)
That G5 can get you places
This must have been such a cute movie for Browns fans
Or football fans in general.
You spoke too soon

In real life they wouldn't even have a first round pick
seahawks did almost trade russ away lmao

LMAO Yo Im dying
Taking a Mike LB at #1 and passing on a possible franchise QB so you can take an alumni's running back son at 7 is the Brownsiest thing that could ever happen.
he think he's a bust... that's like saying ryan leaf is a possible franchise QB
@@patricklee4581 lmao, unless people could tell the future no one had any idea he was a bust. That’s like saying “why would they draft Ryan leaf, he’s a bust” when everyone thought he was destined for greatness. Apparently according to you they should time traveled! He was top five talent. Just didn’t have the work ethic. Doesn’t mean 15 teams wouldn’t of immediately taken him. You’re butthurt someone mentioned how unrealistic this scene is. Which if you know football(you clearly don’t) you would know there isn’t an ounce of truth to it.
@@BaronVonBielski he THINKS he's a bust. Character issues. Learn to read bud. It might serve you well in the future.
Except Vontae is a special linebacker. HE's the real deal and he himself wore out Callahan. But Vontae is Lawrence Taylor in this movie. And the Browns essentially gave up 3 2nd round picks to get him.
@@Rockhound6165Technically they gave up 3 2nd round picks to get him and a punt returner
Bo Callahan went on to win 7 superbowls for the Seahawks, as well break multiple records. While Ray Jennings would suffer multiple Leg injuries cutting his career short, Brian Drew would end up being rusty and trash and Vontae Mack would end up a bust. Classic Browns
hahahahahah what a savage!
Bo the G.O.A.T
don't forget the great punt returner David Putney lol
So?
All of that is true. It's in the Director's Cut. They deleted what happened to those picks from the movie because the director felt it would be too painful for Browns fans to watch. It would feel......too real for Browns fans.
This is the most unrealistic scene in sports movie history.
That sums up this movie in a nut shell.
lol seriously. How this would actually go down: "I want my 3 first rounders back for this pick" "lmao no" end of movie
Actually it is. He just gave up three 2nd Round picks for a Top 10 pick. If they don't make the playoffs in 2-3 years, he is gone.
That includes how many hits Rocky could take from Ivan Drago and still be able to feed himself after the fight.
That Includes Air Bud
It's so unrealistic but damn it I wish they would make a Draft Day 2.
gurujr I know it’s unrealistic - but damn I love this movie.
@@michaelberry1382 Right? I don't care how dumb their decisions are, I could watch a 5 hour movie of these guys making deals.
Apollo James I literally lost it laughing when Costner goes on that rant getting his picks back - hangs up and says “g-Damn I love my job”. Don’t know why but I watched that whole scene at least 20 times the first night I watched. “The situation has changed in the last 30 seconds .....because I can you pancake eating Mfer.” That whole scene is gold. Dan Lincoln David Goddamn Putney

Listen again. This time with ear.
Was anyone looking for David Putney at the end of the movie when the Browns were gathering around in excitement before they ran out on the field? I was.... and I didn't see him or his name on the jersey, haha.

Haha True! I am a Steelers fan and I was rooting for the Browns in this movie.
Steelers fan also but rooting for the Browns. I'm a 57 year old guy and just about shed a tear at the linenacker reactiom of being drafted and the rn getting the call from the coach playing for his dad's team. I love Moneyball. Think I like this more.
Could be i mean rg 3 was traded for crap load picks. Than there was that cowboys trade back in the 90's.
As a 49ers Fan, It makes me smile that he's the villain as well!
this guy traded 1st overall pick AND a special teams for a 6th overall pick in the same draft lol
Ikr
In one sense yes. In another sense he simply traded a KR for $7 mil in salary cap relief. Possibly more depending on how much Putney was earning.
The world is always changing in this movie
He was 7 million dollars cheaper 🤷🏽♂️
Dont forget the 49ers and Bears did the same thing a few years back
One of my favorite parts is when he says... who do we need? Love that interaction after. 🤣👏🏿
My favorite line was “we live in a different world then we did 30 seconds ago”

Absolutely right
Every scene was completely out of left field...
Oh yeah and BTW Jennifer Gardner is pregnant because the writers felt like more drama
"C'mon Tom say it with me you pancacke eating motherf***er" EVERY time😭😭😂😂

Kevin Spade last time I checked this is a movie and not real life
PintoBean33 thanks for pointing the obvious
Kevin Spade seems like u didn’t know based on your comment
Would of?
And then end up trading down all of the high first rounders and ending with like, 30 extra picks over those 3 years
He traded three first round picks for Mack.....Tricked everyone into passing on BO....Traded three second round picks to jump back ahead of Seattle....Got all his first round picks back and a punt returner to let them have BO who he never wanted in the first place to get the RB he wanted. He has a QB a top LB a top RB and a top KR and all he lost was three second round picks.
@Bill Blass The team already had a QB named Brian Drew. He is supposed to be good but has durability issues which is why they wanted Bo at first. However the trainer told Sonny that Drew is healthy and stronger than ever so instead of going with Bo they took their chances with Drew.
They kept Superman as their QB. and got Black Panther as their RB. Great draft day I just say.
well he could have stayed at 7, and traded the three 2nds for 6 and taken the same two players for less salary, without the kick returner and without giving everyone a heart attack. boring movie though
It cost him an extra $7,000,000
Don't forget the $100 bill in the back of the playbook test also lol
“I want my picks back”
“Lmao no”
*hangs up*
Bo is the real life Johnny Football
And
Ray Jennings is Trent Richardson
So Trent Richardson was in trouble? Who's Mack? Khalil Mack or Vontae Burefict? 😂😂
Richardson was two years ago so he wasn’t in Cleveland in 2014 he was in Indy
Ray Jennings is Arian foster who used to play for the Texans and dolphins idiot
Andres Villa he wasn’t talking about the actor, he was saying who ray Jennings is supposed to represent
loved this part of the movie, playing poker
If you had watched this movie, another team offered him a huge deal to get that #1 pick and Callahan. Had he actually passed on Callahan, that team would have been calling every team in sequence with the same offer. Once it got to Jacksonville, who Coster bought the pick from, Jacksonville would have taken that huge offer and left the Browns sucking wind. Fun movie, but less realistic than Sharknado.
I thought that passing on Callahan made all the teams think there was something dodgy about him.
Partly, also most people didn't do their homework on him because they thought he would go #1 overall. So when he got passed at #1 and fell, they weren't prepared and just went by their board. Also, some of those guys HAD QB's already. Still though, that one team certainly did their homework on him and wanted him. That's why they were offering a kings ransom to trade up to #1 with the Browns.
I thought they were still panicking because no one knew what was wrong with Bo. So they also needed to be convinced to actually fight for him. Costner gets the pick from the jags then convinces the Seahawks that they still want Bo and that Costner might take him away right now. They have no choice but to choose then or lose him if they are convinced that costner might really take him. If he did he would still be considered a hero who got a first round draft pick for 7 mil less and played all the other guys.
Yea, didn’t make sense. Bills were gonna give away the house for Callahan and was not heard from when 5 teams passed on Callahan.
Some teams passed for legit reasons, they already had a great starting QB, but teams that needed one would never have passed on him. QB's are THE key to a team, if you have a shot at a once in a generation QB you take it.
Sometimes In feel like poor David Putney, forced to move from Seattle to Cleveland because somehow I got wrapped up in an ego contest between forces bigger than me.
GMs would never take personal hits on each other like that though it be entertaining lol
Exactly
"I want all my picks and I want David Goddamn Putney for the Hell of it." I know this movie is unrealistic, but it sure is fun.
Don't forget about those pancakes lol.
Of course, it's fun. Who cares if it's realistic? Nothing in Hollywood is realistic anyway.
For some reason this year's draft made me think of this movie. When I was then re-watching it and I saw Chadwick I almost screamed 😂. I'd actually forgotten he was in it! I wasn't even sad, it was such a nice surprise. RIP King👑
I am not a football fan by any stretch of the imagination, and this is one of my favorite movies.

“I’ll give you number 2s”. That’s the point when you realize the guys writing this movie has no idea on how to value draft picks. Acting as if they were anywhere close to first rounders.
This movie is actually a prequel made about John "The Full-Dorse" Dorsey
And with the second pick in the draft, the Chicago Bears select...
This still hurts my soul...
I Laughed so Hard at 2:40 🤣😂🤣🤣
This is one of my favorite movies. Not just because of the actors in it or because it has Seattle the sexiest city in but because it is a neat little package that is easy on the eyes and ears.

Nobody showed up at Russell’s Wilson’s Birthday Party 🎂 lmao 🤣
What's with the random hatred of pancakes!? They're delicious!
Earlier in the movie, the GM of the Seahawks was rushing the GM of the Browns to accept a trade. The Hawks GM was eating pancakes
I had no idea what was going on throughout this movie but for some reason I was on the edge of my seat the whole time lol.
The worst trades that wasted time and money.
Haha
I swear I thought I was hearing Jerry Goldsmith again. A true master.
Music in this scene is EPIC
Now THAT is how you fleece a GM 😂. If only Cleveland's gm was actually that smart
It was more that Seattle was just that dumb
Now John Dorsey got them OBJ
GREAT scene and move! My 2nd/3rd favorite sports movie behind "Major League" and maybe "Trouble With the Curve"
Wow ... have I list for you! Lol
So he basically ends up on the exact same situation he started in and really only adds a punt returner?
Good ol days when the Browns were so absymal that they needed a movie about them starring Kevin Costner as a genius GM to make Browns fans feel better.
And he wasn't even that smart. His saving grace was the other guy being an even bigger idiot
Browns finessing the Seahawks? Yeah even for a movie that's too far out.
You must not know the name Andrew Barry lol
Costner's a legend!
Every guitar player to the void: 1:03
I actually think this is the only unrealistic part of the movie, to be honest. I can see all the trades happening for real (we've seen just as crazy trades IRL). But realistically Seattle would've totally called Sonny's bluff here. ;)
Uhh.. I don't know... If Callahan was billed as the next 'Roethlisberger' by one scout, or 'the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck' by I think Mayock in one scene (can hear his voice in the background), then why would Seattle NOT draft him for much cheaper as Costner said??
The only reason the audience feels Seattle got fleeced is because they spent the whole movie trying to show that Callahan's a bust. Had we seen thigs from the lens that Seattle was using, things would look very different.
Because all Seattle had to do is keep the Browns on the phone for two more minutes and they could have stolen the Browns' pick at 6 when their turn came at 7.
the browns have a clock and i think they can read it.
Exactly. They wouldn't have waited out the clock.
Don't ever assume the Browns can do something as simple as read a digital clock. Courtesy: a Browns fan...
I used to think this was the most unrealistic scene depicting draft picks ever. Then Danny Ainge went to work for the Utah Jazz
Man this was a class on how to hustle
John Dorsey making moves this year too haha.
For a few years, this might have been the only thing Browns fans had to make them happy about their team.
Might be stupid but god I love this movie
I don't understand anything but this is great ! :D
That dude was cookin'
Bo Callahan would go on to only play three subpar seasons for the Seahawks before flaming out of the NFL and cementing his legacy as the greatest bust of all time. He then would go on to work for his long, lost step brother Tommy at his auto parts plant in Sandusky, Ohio, making their industry revolutionizing brake pads.
Is that the New York YANKees?
Bo Callaghan went on to have a very successful career taking the Seahawks to 5 playoff apperences in 7 years and winning The superbowl after becoming the league's MVP. A title he would win 3 more times before he retired. After a dismal season with the Browns quarterback re injuring his knee browns rookie running back was a arrested on domestic violence charges and suspended from the league indefinitely. 3 more uneventful seasons later he was released and soon after out of the league. Vontae Mack suffered a career ending spinal injury in only his sixth career game. The promising young talent reflects on his time in the league saying that he has no regrets. In what was considered one of the worse draft classes in history and having passed on future NFL MVP the Browns GM was fired. The owner sold the team and that era came to a close. The Browns continue to suck to this day becoming the second team in NFL history to go 0 - 16

I just searched Bo Callahan and didn't get any results other than his appearance in the movie. Is he a real NFL player? I don't follow football or sports but saw this movie and thought it was great.
Best GM we've ever had.
Best movie of all-time
This scene reminds me of that conversation from Fallout 4 where you have to convince Dr. Li to help the Brotherhood of Steel and you convert her from dead-set against even considering it to accepting it in one line.
One of the worst parts in the game.
The one problem with the storyline is if the Seahawks wanted Bo they could've literally just cleared up $7 million in Cap just by restructuring deals.
True. But that would have made a really crappy movie.
Goddammit I love this scene!!!!
this "dialogue" is so bad it hurts.
This made me laugh so hard, the browns drafting like there are gonna win the Super Bowl!! 😂the sequel of this should be when they don’t make the playoffs.

Wait are you telling me this man just traded 3 of the Cleveland Browns first round picks back to them for the number 7 overall? Am I seeing or hearing this right LOL???
yes because the only reason they traded 1st overall in the first place was because they couldn't afford Bo's signing bonus and salary range if he went 1st overall. They always wanted him. Now they get him for 7 million less and lose nothing. well a PR in Putney for the 7million in salary relief. It's not as unbelievable as you think
@@patricklee4581 lmaoo it’s beyond unbelievable

@@bigbearkat2010 you can't assume what Seattle is doing here, you can only go with the facts as presented by the movie.
If the Seahawks wanted Callahan, they should have just taken him at first overall. It's easy to cut $7 million from your salary cap.
Because Seattle was greedy and wanted to fleece another team, like what St. Louis (Rams) did to Washington for RG 3 that year.
