I don't believe these numbers. I'm an immigrant self employed carpenter and my net worth is about 1M but I live like a poor guy. Raised four children divorced lost my paid for house in divorce. These numbers don't make sense
If you live below your means then you will do well. Most people live above their means which is why their networth is not higher. Most in US over consume which pits them in debt. The numbers are accurate based on pew data.

Those "middle class" aspirations? Upper class people expect such things. They are handed to them. They don't strive for them. One of the biggest errors in these videos is evenly dividing the population based on household income. Societies have different-sized upper classes and different sized middle classes. You can't just divide a population by quintiles and call it good.
