    what a painfully obvious difference from watching football 25 years later...no helmet to helmet contact, no defenseless receiver, no penalty for getting too close to the QB, THERE IS TACKLING!!! Today's game is such a weak shell of what it used to be.

    Man I gotta tell ya.Troy Aikmam was throwing darts in this game.He torched that Green Bay secondary.They had weapons everywhere.Troy All men is the most accurate Quarterback I've ever seen.You give him time like that,and he will do surgery on your defense.The mid 90's was a time when Dallas was just unstoppable on offense,and that pass rush was awesome.#1 on offense and defense.This is the type of team I would like to have this season,and we had the depth and talent to do that.

      This is why the Randy Moss thing still bugs me. That pick and that pick alone would’ve extended the careers of Aikman and Irvin. And with Moss Aikman would’ve put up Marino numbers which he was more than capable of doing.

    • @shawnheidingsfelder8179
      @shawnheidingsfelder8179 3 года назад

      Hard to be aggressive in the secondary in today's game. Pass interference gets called constantly for sneezing on guys, and half the teams don't bother to run much anymore. If a safety isn't covering a receiver or tight end now, it's a rarity, so blitzes aren't called much. I'd love to see today's D Line play like these 90s guys played. That helps the secondary a lot.

    Jimmy's Defenses were basically bend but don't break, and wait for the opponent's Offense to make a mistake or, at the least, drive 80 yards and score. With the quality of the Defenses he (and his Assistants) built, this worked well as long as no deep plays were given up. This same type of D will work today as long as you have a decent D, a great O (with a great running game) and excellent ST.
    This GB team was equivalent to today's KC or Tampa Bay teams. They had Brett Farve and Sterling Sharpe on O and Reggie White on D.

    Jerry Jones put together the team, but Jimmy used the ridiculous amount of draft picks (Robbing the Minnesota Vikings blind with their stupid trade for Hershel Walker), and built what Jerry paid for into the most feared team in the 90s, and one of the top five all-time greatest teams in NFL history (I actually put them at #3). If only Jones had let Jimmy coach the team and not let his own ego get the best of him, this team wins not fewer than five Super Bowls in the decade, no question.

      and Eric Williams got away with a couple of holding penaltys,and I recall Eric Williams rolling one of the packers defensive lineman legs on purpose, I remember the guy cursing limping off the at Eric Williams, but guess what karma is real, ha ha look at Aaron Rodgers record against Dallas IN DALLAS!!!

      They used to allow Erik Williams to go hands to the face on Reggie constantly and never called it.This would allow Dallas to solo block Reggie which helped them out a lot.

    EDDIE MURRAY. I do NOT care, your 1981 Lions STILL had 12 men on the field and we got screwed and I still cried at the tv (I was 8) Never did you see a team run off the field so fast. Ever since then I have DESPISED the Lions. THat is their original sin upon the Star to me.

      Eddie Murray was great for us that season. Sure as hell better than Lin Elliot who screwed up 2 easy field goals against Buffalo, even Jimmy wanted him gone after he said he lost his confidence. Lin Elliot would be the reason why the Chiefs lost the divisional round against the Colts in 1995.

      Ms. Felony Strutter I remember this game also, it should have never come to that. Dallas blew a big lead and let Billy Sims get off. Howard Cosell said it on Monday night football highlights that it was 12 men in the field when Eddie Murray made that 50 yarder which should have never happened!! They blew that call for sure. It cost Dallas a home playoff game!!!
