At this point, the biggest thing ipads could ever do to be exciting again is mandated feature parity across all major apps. At least the productivity-based apps.

It makes sense they would move the iPad Pro over to OLED now. They have exhausted features to entice people to upgrade without it. If you have any iPad Pro from 2018 on, just the M3 isn't going to be much of a reason to upgrade. If anything, an aging battery is more likely to push an upgrade than anything at this point. Also, the iPad Pro with the keyboard case falls well into MacBook Air price territory. The OLED display on the iPad Pro will give it something to really differentiate the experience between the two. Apple really does have their timing down to a science.

C’mon). And I concur, I have an 2018 iPad Pro and have not been excited for a change. It has 120hz, great screen, support for Apple Pencil 2, so… the only things that MAY push me to upgrade is: Oled, some kind of MagSafe, Dynamic Island, reverse charging, AND better battery which given the performance of the M3, that may be given.

More excited by iPadOS 18 and what sort of additional useful features Apple chooses or does not choose to deliver to current users. It's all 'marginal gains for massive margins' with the top-end hardware going forwards for the iPad Line. Best buy is probably 9th/10th Gens.
M1 iPad Air still holding strong for me. Zero complaints.

Is there no chance that we will get a new iPad Mini on March 26 or sometime soon? That is the only model that I care about.
The mini is not getting a redesign after just 1 generation, and the performance with A16 or A17 would be like only 10-20% better than A15. And that’s about it.
@@buttercat1208 it hasn’t had an update since Sept 2021. It doesn’t need a different form factor, but the display and SOC and WiFi speed and compatibility with the upcoming Apple Pencil would be appreciated after 2 1/2 years of no updates.
@iakona23 wifi and soc updates are very minor, and yes they re there. But i would guess that the display wont be any better since the new iPad air would keep the same spec, which is 500nit LCD at 60hz. And the mini would most likely keep using the 2nd gen pencil like the new air as well.

If youre using an ipad before m1 and its currently not meeting needs or is wearing down in battery or other physical areas-sure its a great upgrade.
But honestly with how similar performance is across all m-series ipads and that most users cant max out the performance capabilities of ipads, its not worth waiting/buying an m3 ipad pro. just buy anything m1 or m2 powered.

@@mistahozzySame here and I took it to Apple few days before the 1 year warranty expired ends. They tested it and threw all kinds of excuses like using VPN! I upgraded from 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” because the battery wore off, not because it was slow or unable to run apps. My son is using it and it’s on the latest OS.
You’re totally right about them needing up with this particular iPad (mine is the 11”). I think it’s the M2 chip power or the way that it’s calibrated that is draining the battery. It gets hot suddenly or when there is some son light and the brightness increase. Then it gets hot and the battery goes on a countdown.
That’s chip and power needed a better battery, cooling system and calibration. The hey shouldn’t have released it when they couldn’t figure it out. Shame on them and this was the first time I’m disappointed with an Apple device I was waiting for, for a long time, and also disappointed with the Genius Bar and the excuses they made up as of I’m not a computer engineer and know details down to the transistor level.
I bought the 15 Pro Max (from 12 Pro Max), but I’m slowing down on buying new devices after that incident and disappointment. Which is continuous, the 13 Pro max had better battery than all its successors.
The used one RAM module in the M2 MacBooks instead of 2 in the M1.
They halved memory bandwidth on the M3 Pro! Cook’s greed and prioritizing shareholders above loyal long time users is getting ridiculous and 100% opposite to Job’s approach where they had best customer satisfaction rates. This guys is genius in supply chain but zero charisma and zero understanding how important to build and maintain a wide base of loyal customers. It’s we who are part of Apple success. I won’t change to any $hit Android or switch back to oven Windows PC after 15 years. But I’ll definitely slow down and think twice and thrice before spending any penny on them. And I don’t even talk about the ridiculous prices hike in the UK when the GBP is doing better that the USD, forcing us to pay for the EU fines issued against Apple!
If they could somehow make the 1TB+ versions dual boot then it would be an awesome all-in-one device. iPadOS unplugged and macOS plugged into an external display. It'll be fine even if they disable everything on the iPad and only allow input through KB&M.

Thin bezels are terrible for hand-held gaming. M2 iPP 12.9” isn’t an issue where on a Samsung Ultra the thin bezel constantly takes input from my palms which screws input during gaming.

Minor concern/comment here. If the iPad Pro's rumored new Magic Keyboard has an aluminum case,. won't the bottom of the keyboard housing be prone to scratching without those small, rubber pads that MacBooks have?
Maybe it’s going to have those pads- or they’re going to cover the bottom with a layer of microfiber or smth
I am actually getting a bit worried, as this looks quite like the situation of the first 16 inch MacBook Pro, no invitation, some changes, and the next year comes the big announce of apple silicon.
IF there will be Apple Pencil 3, new Magic Keyboard, and redesign, I don't feel like apple will skip the event ---- side refresh is always about something small and not important. It almost seems like there are some technical issue or marketing reason they don't want to make a big announcement so they decided to do side refresh in the last minutes.
By the way, I hope the iPad screen ratio and be a bit more 16:9-ish.
My 2020 12.9 in IPad Pro withA12z chip/6gb ram/1 tb storage/ and the magic keyboard for it,are all still going strong.The M series chips in the 2021 or newer are crippled without full MacOS,why bother with them? Until this one dies or it’s no longer supported,then maybe I’ll get whatever is new.

I love my M1 Ipad Pro 1tb with 16gb of ram. I thought it was so good I skipped the M2 iPad Pro. But after seeing the display on the Samsung S9 ultra I decide to pick one of them up and use it along side of my M1 iPad Pro. The Samsung S9 ultra has one terabyte with 16 gigs of ram also and The display is the nicest I’ve seen ever. I’m not jumping ship from Apple but I am using that Samsung S9 ultra for a lot of my video editing. Where it falls short is using Lightroom. The Samsung has a slower export speed compared to my M1 iPad Pro. And another reason I bought the Samsung SN ultra was because how big it is. I love that it’s almost 14 inches big. But I’m hoping the new M3 iPad Pro well definitely change my mind about the S9 ultra and looking forward for the new M3 iPad pros to come out.

I wonder if it will be easier to draw on. The screens on all tablets feel like drawing on an oil slick and the distance between the tip of the pencil and mark making is too much.
You can buy a paper screen protector, it’s relatively cheap if it’s a serious negative point for you
I have a lot of ideas.
1they make the landscape orientation a default
2.theyll put the charging port in the landscape bottom
3.theyll change the stereo speakers too
4.the Apple Pencil charging module will be relocated to the previous front cameras position
5.and exclusive Apple Pencil for iPad Pro that is shorter to fit in the position of the new charging module
6.and there is a possibility that the add a third back camera
7. They might add an ultrasonic under display fingerprint reader or Touch ID in the power bottom
8.they might add the type of MagSafe charging that’s on the MacBooks or make it completely port less
9.they might add a third size which could be called the iPad Pro max or the iPad ultra with The m series pro and max chips
10.they might add Dynamic Island or a notch or under display camera
11. They might add a removable keyboard that comes with it in the box
12.larger iPad Air size
13. The rear camera module embedded into the chassis like the iPad 9s with no bump in the cameras
14. A personal request from me is to make the volume buttons and power button larger

The M3 iPad Pro redesign is better than I thought!" where the video description said "Apple's about the CHANGE the iPad forever.. with some massive design changes. Buying an iPad Pro right now is probably a TERRIBLE idea." And you listened to them.

I may be the only one - but my guess is, the OLED will not make the screen like a HUGE difference. There is no blooming on mini-leds which keeps getting talked about in these videos. I also dont expect any battery life improvements. Really, while oled is superior technology for color accuracy and black levels, it will barely make a difference.
the first iPad Pro to get the mini LED was 2021 M1 iPad Pro, and they're prolly not the ones that Apple is targeting with this. No one really upgrades their iPad every other year (actually more like 3 years in this case but) so it's mostly aimed at those who are using at least 2020 iPad Pro or older that are stuck with LCD. For them it'll make a HUGE difference. That, combined with M3 chip and more, is enough to get some people excited.

Very nice, I just talked about my iPad Pro in my recent EDC video. I am definitely thinking about returning it for the new iPad coming out soon though.
Reverse wireless charging is not compatible with MagSafe. All chargers are one polarity and all devices are the other polarity. You can prove this by your AirPods on the back of your iPhone. The magnets force the coils to never align. Charging with misaligned coils causes more heat and slower charge speeds. It messing with the user experience which Apple is very particular about.
What about your whole spiel about macOS on the iPad Pro????? Abandoned this taking point?????

Sounds great. But I use my iPad almost exclusively for entertainment, so I don’t think it will be worth upgrading from my M1. That is already far more powerful than what I need. The only thing that is tempting is the OLED screen.

Why would they Ever bring MacOS to iPad when they can sell u both the iPad and Mac. Which company would cannibalize the sales of one their best selling products irrespective( MacBook Air’s) to bring MacOS the iPad. That’s also why the MacBooks would never get a touch screen display. @@Testimony201 Whilst I agree thats what Apple is doing, trying to get double sales, the problem is few people are buying both, and the only way to save the iPad is to have dual OS support.
Putting an M3 chip in an iPad and giving it a keyboard and then artificially crippling it by denying software which its more than capable of running, is just silly and greedy in equal measure.

I told you about 2 months ago and even 1 month ago (check my comments) that Apple will not launch the new M3 iPad Pros this spring despite all the leaks, and instead they will launch in the fall of 2024. But no one believed me. I also told you last year that the iPhone 15 Pro’s action button was not going to allow multiple functions and it will only allow a single action to be assigned to it, but no one believed me then. I also told you before the Apple Watch S7 release that they will not go with the new squared design ‘leaked’, and no one believed. It’s funny how ppl believe everything they hear in these leaks.
With recent exponential advancements in AI it’s getting harder to get excited about incremental improvements in hardware 😅
AI still cannot code with decent quality, so my job ist still save, so i dont see an exponential advancements
