2 incredible cars in this video, each with their own legendary history! Which would you take? 👇
𝓜𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓷𝓰
do you really have to ask
You must be joking...you would have to offer 50 GT500's and I wouldn't take them. 275GTB/4 is my favorite car to own.
The Shelby being compared looks nothing like the original GT500 from 1967. This one was modified for a movie so it’s not a fair comparison with an original GTB.
My thoughts exactly, that gt500 is a resto mod with a modern setup, not a 60s car at all like the Ferrari
I really like the GT500, but there is no comparative , the 275 is another level!!
Maybe that’s why it’s worth about 5 times as much.
Soooooo true
Lmao you're saying it because it's a Ferrari it's a better not like it's a better driving car
@@fread51 60s Ferrari’s we’re streets ahead of anything coming out of America at the time, when it comes to drivability. That mustang still ran rear leaf springs and drum breaks, the Ferrari had discs all round and fully independent double wishbone rear suspension, today American cars have started to catch up with better handling sports cars like the mid engined c8 corvette. Those two aren’t really a good comparison as that gt500 is a resto mod with a modern setup. Those Elinor cars aren’t really 60s mustangs anymore, only to look at, they have been modified so much.
@@andrewnichols1023 I know the Eleanor mustang wasn't a real car jackass about 302 with chew up that Ferrari and spit it out that's facts
Something about that V8 sound has me wanting to drive the Mustang more. Both are fantastic cars, but the Mustang would be the one I would want a Sunday drive in
You got to relive Gone in 60 Seconds and Ford vs Ferrari. Another thing about the 7.0 Ford V8 vs the 3.3-4.0 Ferrari V12 the Ford motor is actually under rated a fair amount. That pains me to admit because I'm a Chevrolet man myself.
Your channel surely deserves a million subs! Another awesome video featuring some of the best examples of automotive enginneering from the different continents. The 275 is my most favourite Ferrari of all time and your quality filming really showcases how heavenly the lines and curves are under the sunlight! Thank you so much for such dedicated efforts in the production!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 🙌🏼
Another phenomenal episode. Thank you for transporting me to a place better than my wildest dreams.
Nothing like a trip back in time!
Correct me if i'm wrong, but the GT500 Eleanor is actually a modern custom build for the movie, right ? So it would be a better choice to compare the Ferrari with a GT500 KR, i think. I do like the 60's mustangs, especially the Boss 302, but i never understood the hype with the GT500 Eleanor, it's not even a pretty car. So i'll take the Ferrari 275.
My point exactly, it’s no longer a 60s mustang, it’s a resto mod with a modern setup. Bad comparison.
It isn't a Shelby... its a mustang fastback with a bodykit.
Shame they didn’t get the fact that that‘s not an actual GT500 and is merely a movie car…
Don't think he knows
Yes most of these resto mods start off as something else as the real deal is so expensive to start with. Who in their right mind would mod a real gt500, it’s not even a good comparison as the gt500 is a modern setup, resto mod, no longer a 60s car anyway.
@@andrewnichols1023 the original GT500 is not a restomod
@@ahemgee9542 I know, but the Elinor gt500 is and the one I gone in 60 seconds was, all those Elinor cars are they are not standard 60s cars, not like the Ferrari.
@@andrewnichols1023 That's besides the point. Obviously nobody would chop up a real GT500 to make an Eleanor movie car. The point is they think that the resto mod movie car Eleanor, is in fact a GT500 as they came from factory.
Wow, what a video, absolutely loved that, well done Jonty and team SCD
Mustang sounded amazing but regardless of price the Ferrari is the one for me 💙
🙌🏼🙌🏼 cheers Royd
What a wonderful comparison!!! I would take that Mustang. Man, we need more stuff like this in the middle of these ugly times (pandemic, financial crisis, the risk of a new cold war, etc.). Thank you so much SCD!
As much as I like the Eleanor Mustang, it’s not an accurate example of a 1967 Shelby GT500. It’s a restomod version of the car that is significantly customized. This is an apples to oranges comparison.
Great video for sure. The pairing of these two is phenomenal! However, I was a fair bit disappointed with the lack of information on the Eleanor presented. We the Eleanor was a nickname made in retrospect after the movie, so there was nothing as a 67 Eleanor. Well maybe the yellow one from the original 60’s Gone in 60 Seconds?! I wanted to know what hardware this tribute got? Who made it (as there are so many who did)? Is it an original movie’s (which are very highly sought after and signed by crew)? And a whole lot more. Hearing the big displacement V8 didn’t disappoint though.
Pisses me off whenever people think this bodykit is an actual 1967 GT500..
I am always amazed by the number of car people who believe the movie car is a real Shelby, I understand why laymen might not know but when car people are tricked by it I’m amazed. I was hooked on the movie and love how that car looks but, a supercharged 67 gt350 is where it’s at and would have mad an awesome movie car.
This video (and title) are misleading. The Eleanor is a film product, born from C. Foose and S. Stanford, therefore it is not correct to write GT500. The original GT500 although similar is different, has lines of the past, while the Eleonor is muscular and converted into a more modern line. This comparison makes no sense and cannot have any basis, because it is like comparing Miami Vice's fake Ferrari Daytona with another original sports car (such as Lamborghini or Porsche)
Love the gone in 60 seconds reference in the beginning 🥲 I'd probably go with the rarri just to be able to buy a few Eleanors instead 🤤 such a good looking car!
Thanks a lot for your content 🙏
If you ever could, please get a urQuattro on the channel!
Or the LCE Performance Sport Quattro 🤌
I think something's wrong with the Mustang you're driving you shouldn't Ride Like That you might want to go get the alignment and your tires checked your Mustangs not in good shape
The 500 is just incredible
Nadine vs Eleanor. Great video. If i were to meet these ladies out in the wild, someone else could take Eleanor.
Is it a real Gt500? I’ve yet to see an “Eleanor” that’s based on a real Shelby..
I` d take the Ferrari, sell it the next day and buy all my favorite muscle cars with the money, old and modern.
500-550HP vs 450HP not 425HP vs 450HP. This was for the 1967 GT40 J-5, J-6, J-7 and J-8. 425HP was for the street engine.
I'm probably in a minority of about 14 people, but I think the 275--from bang on the front (10:25 for example)--is a particularly hideous looking car. It has nothing on the 250 GT.
My thoughts too, it’s a badly designed 250 gto. Put the two together and there is no comparison.
In my top 5 SCDs videos right there😁🤗
Brilliant jonty.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Don't give jonty a big head! He's definitely up'ed his game recently tho!! 😘👏👏
I think the credit is mainly aimed at the cars! 😅
@@Jonty99 don't sell your self short brother. I have noticed your professionalism in reviewing cars grow over the years. since I met you 15 years ago and we went on our runs together 🤗
Who knew ey👌
Two absolutely beautiful cars, brilliant content.
Thank you! 🙏
That's not a real GT500 but yeah it's a cool car
Mustang, delightfully tacky yet unrefined. A one dimensional bruiser built for straight line speed, which may suit some folks fine. 275 not my favourite Ferrari stylistically; not enough glass, I prefer slightly larger windows . However a very minor point of taste, and it sounds like a terrific driver. Ferrari were really at the peak of sports car racing when they built the 275’s, and the driving impressions of numerous reviewers reflect this. The early mid-engine 12 cylinder boxer Ferraris that followed were flawed beasts, although fantastic looking.
That was a bucket list kind of day. Id take the eleanor everytime....love it
Fantastic little film. So well done. The last time I was waiting to go through the Channel Tunnel there was a chap parked 2 cars down from us in a burgundy 275 GTB/4. Really cool guy and happy to chat. They were heading down to a holiday home, in their convoy was the 275 GTB/4, an Aston Martin DB4, and a V8 Vantage. Just amazing.
Rare to see one out of the road!
The 67 Mustang looks way better than the Ferrari will take the 67 Mustang over a Ferrari the 67 Mustang is the best looking car ever made
How much are we betting that you are an ignorant american 😂😂😂😂😂
Gone in 60 Seconds came out while I was in high school and it definitely made an impression on me! It's still one of my favorite movies to this day and I just love what they did to the 676 GT500 to make it look more dramatic for the film. That said, it is a goal to one day have both the 67 Eleanor and 275 GTB 4 in my garage.
The Ferrari 275/4 every time, the sheer beauty of the design, is unbeatable.
I was excited as this is a pair I have loved since a teen in the 70s but then I saw Eleanor and not a real 67 GT500. Should not have disgraced 275 with a resto-mod. Plus this Eleanor is powered by a stroked Windsor not a FE as the winning LeMans Fords did in 66 and 67 (though Windsors did win in 68 and 69). Do this one again with real Shelby and it would be great… find a 67 275GTB/4 in US and look me up, I’ll pull my real 67 GT500 out of the garage.
Two gorgeous cars , great content again mate
Keep it up 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
The sound of that GT500, tells me that is how V8s are meant to sound ❤️ And that Ferrari looks sooo elegant ❤️✨
And I'm a Sports Car person not a Muscle Car person so I would go with the Ferrari!
When I lived in Flint Michigan, a kid in our cycling club had told me that his dad who was a University of Michigan professor had got a new car and I should come check it out!!! When I went to the garage there sat a FERRARI 275/GTB4 😂😂😂 I hope that Flynn still has it!!!😊😊
sorry to say that, but that's NOT a SHELBY, it's movie clone car, taken from gone in 60 seconds.....You could have gone for the real thing than that POS clone car.
The way ford placed the steering shows they better stick to making trucks. Can’t even compare the Gold class 275.
not a Shelby nor is it a Eleanor. its 1967 mustang fastback with a bodykit.
The ferrari looks more dated, but the mustang has an Eleonor kit that has been made since 2002, it would have been better to compare the ferrari to a real '67 GT-500
The front plate placement on the Mustang is possibly the worst front plate placement I’ve ever seen, who blocks half the fucking grille😂
I would give my left kidney and future second born for a 275 GTB
As some others said, that Mustang is NOT a real GT500. Its a replica movie car. The real car didnt have the bodykit, or the wheels and that car is built on an ordinary fastback.
Ferrari anytime
“…champagne would fall from the ceiling, velvet ropes would part.”
Shelby's steering wheel rake is just plain wrong. It's a bus.
They had to fit a much larger engine than the bay was designed for.
@AhEmGee, need to correct you again for spreading hogwash. That’s a stroked Windsor (SMALL BLOCK) in this Eleanor which bolts right in. A big block FE could be bought in a standard 67 Mustang(390) as well as GT500 (428) and no cutting was required for that either. They did something with that steering column (and it looks hideous) but no cutting to fit that small block.
New scd video, that's when you hit the like while the ads is playing, just on trust alone
So your telling me that is one of 34 ever made GT500s and has been retromodded, give over! Not even a Shelby id wager
Only a legendary actor would drive and own that gorgeous Ferrari Steve McQueen
An Eleanor isn’t a 1967 GT500..
Is not comparable Ferrari vs.Ford, whith respect.
The Memphais Rain intro quote.🤣
A sow's ear or a silk purse ? Silly question,
Ferrari over steroids mustang any day. Jajaja!
Actually, a more difficult choice than I expected. While on the one hand, I go crazy for classic Ferraris, on the other hand, the Mustang is a cult classic and an all-time favourite movie car. In the end, I guess I will stick to the reason I came to watch and that must be the cavallino rather than the pony.
Decisions decisions, surely in a perfect world we’d just have both!
This was a brilliant piece boys! I'm glad that you didn't overlay too much of intrusive music and let them engines sing their hearts out. Well done! Well done indeed!👏
All about those engines! Need to be heard.
The Gone in 60 Seconds intro reference was too good!
Not even close....275 is the car to have.
Beautiful video. Personally I would take the Ferrari because of what Ferrari stand for & the sort of passion & engineering go into their cars plus that 275 looks so elegant like James Bond in his suit. It's lethal but doing it in style.
AWESOME VIDEO!.
I love the GISS "Bluudy Munny" ref. 😆
Also, these are 2 cars on my bucket list. Tho i think the GTB/4 is out of reach.
Oh lord, did it have to be an eleanor?
Why is it every time I watch these I feel like I am driving there with you guys its outstanding..makes me just want to drive...epic.
My eldest is named after Eleanor. Lol
Mrs doesn't know to this day why I said let's call her elena 😲..she is now a petrol head 18yrs and driving loves it ( 1ltr 3cyl mind for now)..🤣
Thanks for the epic content . Every time epic..😎
Amazing film. I’d love to see an American V8 make the N/A Heroes series. Particularly the LS variant Corvettes 🏎🤘🏻. C6 Z06 or Grand Sport were outstanding cars. Hydraulic steering, no eco software etc. There’s a reason LS engines are so widely swapped into other cars. I admit I may be a little biased, but a guy can dream lol.
BEAUTIFULL BODY AND AMAZING SOUND OF MUSTANG 67 SHELBY ELEANOR , . MY DREAM CAR !!!!
Shelby GT500 all day for me. 😎
I have a 1967 Mustang, now I have to buy the same Nardi steering wheel as in the Ferrari. Trying to have a bit of both cars : )
I love mustangs from 67, but if I had the money, I would buy a gt500 KR, the Eleanor is too much tuning to me.
Mustang for straight lines and round abouts, Ferrari for a nice white knuckle ride !
There´s no competition, of course the 275 GTB four cam 😍 But a mere mortal like me have to put my hope in the Euro Jackpot.. Great video BTW! 😀
I love both but I'm taking Eleanor for sure, she's gorgeous and that V8!!
Ford. Ford. Ford. Every day.
In terms of experience, you can have a lot more fun in the Mustang cuz it's cheaper to repair, so the Mustang.
Now you need the Original "Yellow" Eleanor from the Original Gone in 60
That gt500 isn’t really a 60s car anymore, those Elinor cars have had a resto mod done to them.
Fantastic content, incredible cars. Big thank you 👍🏻
Really cool classic car.
275 without a second thought, hero car along with the F40 for me
hhahahah Good start with the gone in sixty second quote, as always good vid :)
KFC v Foie gras.
Right is better
eleanor all day!
I haven't seen "Gone In 60 Seconds " in years . 2 fantastic cars in tthis vid .
Lewis cars
A54 road ?
275 GTB
Stunning machines. I can listen to that V8 all day long, but the 275 should be the better driving experience for sure. Amazing content on the channels guys. Cheers! :)
A much better drive, the mustang has leaf springs and rear drums, the Ferrari has all around disc breaks and independent rear double wishbone suspension, yes the mustang is faster but the Ferrari would be a much better handling and drivers car.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😎👍🏽
Heaven.
Great video. Thank you!
Such pretty cars, that Ferrari though, one of my favorites of all time. Great scenery, great cars, fantastic video! I'm a fan.
The 275 to me looks like an out of shape 250 gto just not as pretty. Don’t get me wrong on its own a beautiful car, but up against a 250 gto, just don’t do it for me.
Aaaaand here we go with another great vid! 🤪
😘🔱
Pffft, no tug 'o war test? 😂
Exceptional feature
The 427 FE used in this car, did not come from the GT40 , it was already a performance crate engine used by Ford in Nascar, and in road cars such as the Galaxie and Shelby 427 SC.
Not an FE in the Mustang, that’s a stroked Windsor.
A real 67 GT 500 would have a 428 FE. Latr years had the 428 Cobrajet FE. If this car is a stroked 351w it's obviously not an FE at all.
Thanks for the history lesson, teachers! Awesome! My pick is the Ferrari, but i wouldn't be sad to wake up my neighbours with a Mustang's neigh every morning 😁😁😁
Good stuff, thanks 😎😎😎
Your best introduction yet..stunning car too.
Thank you kindly
Great video!
The steering wheel angle in the GT500 is like a HGV or Bus. Both stunning cars but the 275GTB4 is just heavenly.😍😍😍
It has to be like because the engine bay was modified to fit the 427 in, which included changes to the shock towers and steering.
Wrong, both an FE and Windsor came in 67 Mustang. That’s a stroked small block in this Eleanor. Something else going on, doesn’t look right.
@@markhale8084 Its adjustable, he just has it set in a weird angle for whatever reason
@@markhale8084 I agree, looks all wrong. None of mine look like that, lol. I question if this is a real GT 500 or a clone.
I 💕 the Ferrari
Great intro 👌
