God’s menu came about 3 years into their career, and before that they were not especially popular and people criticized the way they sounded for being loud. Because the members write and produce the vast majority of their songs and they are very hand’s on with everything despite being from one of the largest Korean entertainment agencies. You’ve seen the middle of their career (ish), but I’d like to suggest taking a look at Hellevator, their predebut and first song together and District 9 their debut single. And then the songs Chk Chk Boom, Mountains and Jjam off their most recent album (it was released last month.)

@@OrganicplayzI have watched a number of videos from fans of metal, rap, rock, etc, who didn’t think they would be able to find anything good about K-pop and have found so many aspects of it, that they relate to in some sort of way. Whether it’s the lead singer of an unsigned rock band who relates to the hardships that a certain group went through and it inspires him because they went from nothing to being massive. Or a rap fan who is blown away by the fact that Stray Kids or BTS have actual rappers, who can rap, have amazing bars, and also write their own raps. Or a dancer who is wowed by the dancing of different groups. The professional singers and vocal coaches who are amazed that they can actually sing well and in the case of Stray Kids and BTS, actually sing live.

Oh yeah, she did good. God's Menu is one of the best places to start. If you're looking for suggestions, I think Maniac is a great next stop. Major takeaways for this group besides the obvious "dance good"/"rap good" (iykyk)/ "look good"; 1. Self produced by 3 of their members. Even outside of the production, they have a say in everything they do. Highly uncommon within their industry. 2. They like to explore multiple genres, sometimes in the same song. I am also a rock and metal fan, but I fell into the k-pop rabbit hole around 2 years ago. Their music is so versatile, if we have expectations of what they would do next, they crash them and hit us with the unexpected. As a metal fan I think you will enjoy YAYAYA (pre-debut song) District 9 (debut song), Awaken (from I Am NOT ,debut album), Battle Ground (Japanese song from THE SOUND -Jp Album), LALALALA & LALALALA Rock Ver. (ROCK-STAR album). Btw, in the first 3 songs I mentioned, originally they were 9 members, but one left in 2019 (we don't really talk about him). They have ot8 versions for those songs tho. I am so glad you found them, with Stray Kids you don't just listen music, you experience a whole journey!

I just feel like we didn’t get all of your reaction (the good, bad, and ugly) and my personal preference is to see all of it. I hope you check out more of their music in the future for your own sake! As someone that lived on metal and alt when I was younger, Stray Kids has hit some magical sweet spot for me that I hope others can experience, too!

@@OrganicplayzIf you’re worried about copyright strikes, I’ve never seen a reaction channel run in to trouble due to that, when reacting to official music videos or other content from the official RUclips channels. I know that for BTS (another popular Korean group), as long as the reaction begins with the company logo at the beginning of the video, those videos are safe. I would imagine that is the same thing for Stray Kids. So just play the video from beginning to end and don’t stop unless it is the end of the video since many groups put little things at the end of the video. If you’re concerned about the length of the video, Stays will watch any length of a video on Stray Kids and they’ve probably seen that video a thousand times already. I haven’t scrolled through the comments so I may be repeating info but a few key things, play the full video, turn the captions on if they are available, pause if you want to make some comments, and the fandom of a particular group will guide you in the best videos to start out on, and make other suggestions about the best way to successfully have reaction videos for a particular group. I’m not super familiar with Stays (Stray Kids fandom name) because it has only been about 10 months since I fell down the Stray Kids rabbit hole and others are much more knowledgeable than I am. My favorite group is on hold while 6 out of their 7 members complete their mandatory military service. Stray Kids and Ateez are my favorite 4th gen groups, who debuted in the same year.
Starting with Stray Kids (SKZ) is a good start. However, they were my first full Kpop experience and personally I haven't found the other kpop groups having this kind of energy, sound or precision. Even before becoming a Stay (Stay is what the fandom for Stray Kids is called), I tried to listen to other kpop groups, male and female, and just couldn't get into it. Something about SKZ sound and then the videos draws you in. The only thing I can think of is SKZ has a rock/edm sound to their music, thanks to Chan, and as a rock/alt/emo/metal kid it has a sound I'm used to and can relate to.

If you’re still interested in finding kpop groups with a rock sound like Stray Kids, I recommend Ateez. Their songs like Guerrilla and Bouncy have a really similar vibe to SKZ’s title tracks
There was a tik tok where the op plays 2000 emo/alt music that transitions to SKZ. The caption was pretty much saying there is an emo/alt/edm to skz pipeline. That's why they have so many 30+ fans. Lol
Tbh, I feel the same exact way. Especially since I started with K-pop ages ago. If it wasn't for Stray Kids, I would've stopped listening to K-pop altogether. Don't get me wrong, I love songs by other K-pop groups, but I feel like Stray Kids have had something special from the very beginning, something that no other K-pop group can compete with. The only other group or groups I've managed to listen to for a long time without stopping, other than Stray Kids, would be Dreamcatcher and Day6. I'm a huge fan of anything rock and I always heavily lean towards the rock genre when listening to music. Stray Kids also releases album after album like how bunnies produce more babies, which is also another reason why I just never get tired of them. xD
You picked a great place to start your K-pop journey! You can't go wrong with Stray Kids (SKZ). They've got something for everyone. You should check out Easy, LaLaLaLa, Victory Song, Maniac, Slash (Deadpool ost), and Chk Chk Boom to get started.

I don't consider myself an expert on the subject of music production, but I've come to read that they cite the "Industrial Core" genre among other genres that make up God's menu. They also have another song called ITEM which has the "Nintendo Core" genre. As Stay and metalhead I welcome you to this journey of no return through the Stray Kids hellevator! 😁

She did great! As a Metallica fan, I was very drawn to SKZ. Now, they are all I listen to (with Metallica songs as well). I caught the Felix effect and now I'm a Stay. They are fire!
Not all K-pop groups are created equal. SKZ tends to be a bit more chaotic and crunchier, although they do have a couple of the typical bubble gum pop songs, too. They have samples of all kinds of musical genres...a little something for almost everybody. Enjoy!

From Stray Kids, look at "LALALALA", "Thunderous," "Chk Chk Boom", and, "JJAM". In that order, in my opinion. Their Kingdom: Legendary War stuff and collaborations are worth a look, too ("God's Ddu-Du Ddu-Du", "I'll Be Your Man", "Love Poem", "WOLFGANG"). Okay "Love Poem" is a straightforward love song and took me a while to warm up to it but the voices. THE VOICES. Tell your friend she was correct in suggesting Stray Kids for your first K-pop. 🫶

Ask another Stay (member of the Stray Kids' fandom) for that song. They also did Chk Chk Boom which is on the soundtrack for the Deadpool/Wolverine movie and SLASH, a song that is IN THE MOVIE! Other songs you may like. Us Stays need to know your music taste (genres) first to really recommend. You should understand that most of the bigger k-pop groups make multiple types of music and cover multiple genres, sometimes even in the same song. Especially with the guy groups, pretty rarely is a group only pop. If you want something kinda near to rock or metal from Stray Kids maybe try: DOUBLE KNOT S CLASS--(the music video for this song won at the American VMAs) HALL OF FAME (Metal guitar on the chorus) MAZE OF MEMORIES--this song should be covered by a Heavy metal group. The genre crossover would be sick!! ZONE- by 3RACHA, the rapline VENOM--Very different sound, really cool video MEGAVERSE--Video looks like a movie with awesome action special effects. Song is fire! THUNDEROUS--Great song. Video has super cool anime effects. JJAM-- just watch the music video. The ones we're mostly naming are only a few of their bigger hit fast songs. But that barely scratches the surface of their discography. 3RACHA alone has many more songs and no one has named any ballads or many of their absolutely phenomenal B-sides. Stray Kids is known for seriously complex editing and outrageously awesome music videos as well. Welcome! I find that metal fans usually really enjoy stray kids or BTS. A vast vast vast part of their fanbase came from metal and still love metal. I got into kpop from rock/metal about 9 months ago via BTS. I am also a rock and metal fan, but I fell into the k-pop rabbit hole around 2 years ago. Their music is so versatile, if we have expectations of what they would do next, they crash them and hit us with the unexpected. As a metal fan I think you will enjoy YAYAYA (pre-debut song) District 9 (debut song), Awaken (from I Am NOT ,debut album), Battle Ground (Japanese song from THE SOUND -Jp Album), LALALALA & LALALALA Rock Ver. (ROCK-STAR album). Btw, in the first 3 songs I mentioned, originally they were 9 members, but one left in 2019 (we don't really talk about him). They have ot8 versions for those songs tho. I am so glad you found them, with Stray Kids you don't just listen music, you experience a whole journey!

I’m glad your friend recommended them to you! I wish your reactions weren’t so edited down BUT since I’m new to your channel that may be your format. I just feel like we didn’t get all of your reaction (the good, bad, and ugly) and my personal preference is to see all of it. I hope you check out more of their music in the future for your own sake! @@OrganicplayzIf you’re worried about copyright strikes, I’ve never seen a reaction channel run in to trouble due to that, when reacting to official music videos or other content from the official RUclips channels. I know that for BTS (another popular Korean group), as long as the reaction begins with the company logo at the beginning of the video, those videos are safe. I would imagine that is the same thing for Stray Kids. So just play the video from beginning to end and don’t stop unless it is the end of the video since many groups put little things at the end of the video.
If you’re concerned about the length of the video, Stays will watch any length of a video on Stray Kids and they’ve probably seen that video a thousand times already.
I haven’t scrolled through the comments so I may be repeating info but a few key things, play the full video, turn the captions on if they are available, pause if you want to make some comments, and the fandom of a particular group will guide you in the best videos to start out on, and make other suggestions about the best way to successfully have reaction videos for a particular group. I’m not super familiar with Stays (Stray Kids fandom name) because it has only been about 10 months since I fell down the Stray Kids rabbit hole and others are much more knowledgeable than I am. My favorite group is on hold while 6 out of their 7 members complete their mandatory military service. Stray Kids and Ateez are my favorite 4th gen groups, who debuted in the same year.

Starting with Stray Kids (SKZ) is a good start. However, they were my first full Kpop experience and personally I haven't found the other kpop groups having this kind of energy, sound or precision. Even before becoming a Stay (Stay is what the fandom for Stray Kids is called), I tried to listen to other kpop groups, male and female, and just couldn't get into it. Something about SKZ sound and then the videos draws you in. The only thing I can think of is SKZ has a rock/edm sound to their music, thanks to Chan, and as a rock/alt/emo/metal kid it has a sound I'm used to and can relate to.

If you’re still interested in finding kpop groups with a rock sound like Stray Kids, I recommend Ateez. Their songs like Guerrilla and Bouncy have a really similar vibe to SKZ’s title tracks
There was a tik tok where the op plays 2000 emo/alt music that transitions to SKZ. The caption was pretty much saying there is an emo/alt/edm to skz pipeline. That's why they have so many 30+ fans. Lol
Tbh, I feel the same exact way. Especially since I started with K-pop ages ago. If it wasn't for Stray Kids, I would've stopped listening to K-pop altogether. Don't get me wrong, I love songs by other K-pop groups, but I feel like Stray Kids have had something special from the very beginning, something that no other K-pop group can compete with. The only other group or groups I've managed to listen to for a long time without stopping, other than Stray Kids, would be Dreamcatcher and Day6. I'm a huge fan of anything rock and I always heavily lean towards the rock genre when listening to music. Stray Kids also releases album after album like how bunnies produce more babies, which is also another reason why I just never get tired of them. xD
You picked a great place to start your K-pop journey! You can't go wrong with Stray Kids (SKZ). They've got something for everyone. You should check out Easy, LaLaLaLa, Victory Song, Maniac, Slash (Deadpool ost), and Chk Chk Boom to get started.

Not all K-pop groups are created equal. SKZ tends to be a bit more chaotic and crunchier, although they do have a couple of the typical bubble gum pop songs, too. They have samples of all kinds of musical genres...a little something for almost everybody. Enjoy!

From Stray Kids, look at "LALALALA", "Thunderous," "Chk Chk Boom", and, "JJAM". In that order, in my opinion. Their Kingdom: Legendary War stuff and collaborations are worth a look, too ("God's Ddu-Du Ddu-Du", "I'll Be Your Man", "Love Poem", "WOLFGANG"). Okay "Love Poem" is a straightforward love song and took me a while to warm up to it but the voices. THE VOICES.

@OrganicPlay They have done a beautiful ballad for an anime ost. (I'm so sorry, I'm unsure if it was Seungmin or I.N. that sang it. I.N. I think.). Ask another Stay (member of the Stray Kids' fandom) for that song.
They also did Chk Chk Boom which is on the soundtrack for the Deadpool/Wolverine movie and SLASH, a song that is IN THE MOVIE!
Other songs you may like. Us Stays need to know your music taste (genres) first to really recommend. You should understand that most of the bigger k-pop groups make multiple types of music and cover multiple genres, sometimes even in the same song. Especially with the guy groups, pretty rarely is a group only pop. If you want something kinda near to rock or metal from Stray Kids maybe try:

The ones we're mostly naming are only a few of their bigger hit fast songs. But that barely scratches the surface of their discography. 3RACHA alone has many more songs and no one has named any ballads or many of their absolutely phenomenal B-sides. Stray Kids is known for seriously complex editing and outrageously awesome music videos as well.

I know you've been doing these videos for a couple weeks now, I'm curious to see how your opinions form and change as you grow more accustomed to the world of k-pop and the production styles of groups you'll soon become familiar with.
I find that metal fans usually really enjoy stray kids or BTS. A vast vast vast part of their fanbase came from metal and still love metal. I got into kpop from rock/metal about 9 months ago via BTS.
