58:50 So Surefire tells you to limit the use of muzzle devices to the two types the RC3 was optimized for while OSS/HUX gives you no other options but the two compatible with the Flow. I'm not seeing a difference here. I would speculate the OSS/HUX muzzle devices are shaped the way they are for reasons other than aesthetics. What I think would be a very interesting test is to find a suppressor with the most possible mounting configurations (probably HUB) and test them all and see what differences can be found. Have a Merry Christmas my dude!
Do you have any input on the vent 1? got an ar in 7.62x39 and can't decide between the vent 1, odb or the 7.62 hux. Also, saw there's a velos in 7.62 coming down the line. Really just want the lower back pressure more than anything. Thanks! love your content. I know you might not have gotten your hands on some of these, but just wondering in your expert opinion if we can expect similar performance across the lines.
The VENT 1 needs further evaluation.... We have seen the ODB being used for 7.62x39 hosts with good results. With regard to the FLOW 762, it would stand to reason that it would do OK with 7.62x39. The Velos 762 is something we have not yet had a lot of experience with. Right now, out of those three silencers, we would postulate the ODB to have the highest overall performance for that application, but again, we do not have complete data and analysis for that cartridge. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for your input! Really appreciated.@@TheJaySituation I guess I worry a bit since I've heard bad things about the company that makes the ODB. I may continue to wait and see what happens with the Vent 1 to make my final decision. But nevertheless, thanks again.
I’m having such an insanely hard time deciding between this and the CAT AlleyCat Ti. It’s my first suppressor ever and I have no idea what to do and I have no way to test these together IRL :/ My rifle right now is a 16” AR15 without an adjustable gas block, but I’m going to buy one as soon as I decide on suppressor. And I’m almost definitely going to be changing my rifle to an SBR with either 11.5”/12.5”/14.5”, still not decided on what I’ll actually go with or whether I’ll just build a completely new rifle and keep the 16” the same. I just have no idea whether I’m gonna prefer the lighter and shorter AlleyCat vs the PTR Vent 3. The performance on the Vent 3 is unbelievable, but everyone online keeps telling me that 8” for a suppressor, even if the PTR Vent 3 only weighs like 14oz-16oz (depending on whether I DT or go QD), is just super long on an AR15 in general for my purposes. The AlleyCat is 6.1” and weighs 9.9oz with muzzle device. I’m mostly going to use the suppressor in some competition, home defense, but mainly I’ll be using it to go hike around in the woods and the desert, “larping” I guess haha. And it’s something that I’ll likely be putting on my back while I ride my motorcycle off-road in various areas. You know, like going moto camping, bringing an ammo crate on my bike, and then running around out in nature with my friends or hunting. I want the performance of the Vent 3 so much, but I wonder if I’d be happier with less gas in the face, less weight, and a couple inches less length. I just have no idea how to tell what I actually want and don’t know how I’d really feel about it. Like, does the extra 2” and extra 4-6oz really make that much of a difference? Especially when I’ll very likely be getting an SBR soon? I don’t really plan on doing THAT much bench shooting, but I do enjoy taking those really long shots in the wilderness. Am I overthinking the difference between these suppressors? Like is the difference in performance not as great as I’m making it out to be?
Good question! I think with regular cleaning, it may be OK, but we have not run those experiments. Soaking in a chemical that dissolves carbon would be prudent, most likely.
My shop just got these this week and they already sold out. I was thinking of buying it but was waiting for my tax return. Guess i gotta wait until my shop gets some more
Ptr 308 data? If it even comes close to the cat which also doesn’t have data out I’d just get it as I can get it via distribution and not deal with the awful silencer shop.
Can’t thank you enough for putting this on RUclips
I'm so glad it helps! I think a lot of folks like to listen on RUclips, so it's neat it is working out.
This technology is so exciting! Finally we are unlocking the full power of 3d printing in silencer manufacture and design!
So exciting!

Agreed. This would be an insightful test. Muzzle brakes vs. flash hiders, short vs. long, direct thread vs. adapter, etc.
will all the hub cans out there now it shouldnt be that hard of a test to get together

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you as well!
Good stuff bro.
Thanks for listening to the podcast!

No problem, any time!
CAT put out a video talking about how their mounts will guarantee optimal performance.
Interesting - I'll have to check that out

So how would this work with carbon build up? I would assume performance would be decline at a steep rate. Would you have any way to clean it?
Good question! I think with regular cleaning, it may be OK, but we have not run those experiments. Soaking in a chemical that dissolves carbon would be prudent, most likely.
So that Vent 1 / 308 sounds too good to be true . How was that one ?
we shall see!
Yes that’s true, in Missouri we don’t believe it til we see it #showmestate

Curious why they wouldn't make this fatter and shorter. Pretty cool offering!

That may come in the future. Keep in mind that is not the same silencer as this; performance should not be extrapolated across regimes.
do more tbac suppressors. It's my opinion that they're an industry leader and I don't see a lot of cans in your testing.
we sure will! Thanks for the suggestion, sir
