I sure appreciate ya Rich! Picture was their mega hit but I'm with you - this is their trademark song to me. And I love the way the drums just build throughout. Great use of time and space. I still don't know who the studio drummer was. I'd like to. 16 Candles - just finished that and that's gonna drive me nuts. Most songs take me back to a place or a time and I absolutely remember that song but for the life of me, I cannot remember where I heard that the first time

Dude, that was awesome, your covers and playing are always spot on. Love the video effects you added too. One of the challenging parts of this song is slower tempos expose a lot of timing issue, you were spot on man. Awesome 🤟🤟🤟
Sorry for the delay Steve but THANK YOU so much for the kind words. The Temptations cover was KILLER! Gonna have to hit Jay up for one of those shirts! On the timing for this, I straight up had to run through it a few times. Luckily I could beatmap it so while it's been a while since I've used this trick - I slowed it down around 10 bpm and just played the groove at the slower tempo. It helped by the time I felt comfortable to track. It's a really cool song dude.

In most live situations, I just kinda brushed over how deliberate that section is intended to be. Still, I missed exact accents. But it is a "less is more" tune if there ever was one. Hey M Anaya! We gave it a go! It's an interesting song to play for sure. I've said in other comments on here, I've been able to play it (cover bands) live a number of times but I've never got it close to right. I added WAY too much back then. By the end, I went on my own little path so to speak.......LOL!.......but I wanted to at least have a record of trying to stay true to the tune. I hadn't heard this in a while to say the least but it came on as background music a few weeks ago and I immediately thought it needed to be added. The energy it contains is framed differently than a 150 BPM banger, but I agree with you - this song builds to some serious intensity. And I credit the team involved that delivered the final product. Seriously my friend, just film yourself playing along to some of your favorite songs as a starting point. Maybe even check out the Yamaha EAD 10 as well - keeps players from having to use a bunch of mics. Lots of phenomenal players on here using that. Have a great weekend!

LOL! You're spot on - I altered it slightly in different spots. I'd love to give some big fancy explanation that makes me sound like I know what the hell I'm doing but it was just stuff that happened. I don't use big sticks much anymore. I backed off when smaller clubs, in their infinite wisdom, continued to ask for the drum volume to go down even without mics. I experimented with SD4 combo sticks, Zoro Signature series and some of the Royster signature series. I wanna say this one is using the SD4 combos.
I've got a type I think........HAHA! The other main drum head is Marilyn Monroe. LOVE me some Betty dude! Marilyn.......I won't even get started. GORGEOUS and mysterious woman.
I just watched a few drum covers of this song, and learned it(from the band in concert)...the 1st cover guy you could hear the drums so off it sometimes even sounded flanged, so I watch 3 more of his videos, and I think he needs to pick up a guitar,the whole time he's trying and failing at the finger twist..just bad..the other one, the person left out 20 % of the song....but hey man nice job...

The first time this ended up in a cover set and I saw a video of me doing it with a cover band, ooooohhhh........I went back to the drawing board. It just wasn't right and it all revolved around doing too much. Filter does an superb job of using all that space to build in such an epic way on this. I say all that to say I just tried with the cover to stay in my lane while knowing I took some liberties. Hey man, I appreciate the hell out of ya watching! 🤘🤘🤘

I've said in other comments on here, I've been able to play it (cover bands) live a number of times but I've never got it close to right. I added WAY too much back then. The song is a blueprint for how to build. The choruses just erupt and it's a testament to the overall writing (or to me it is). By the end, I went on my own little path so to speak.......LOL!.......but I wanted to at least have a record of trying to stay true to the tune. I hadn't heard this in a while to say the least but it came on as background music a few weeks ago and I immediately thought it needed to be added. The energy it contains is framed differently than a 150 BPM banger, but I agree with you - this song builds to some serious intensity. And I credit the team involved that delivered the final product. LOL! You're spot on - I altered it slightly in different spots. I'd love to give some big fancy explanation that makes me sound like I know what the hell I'm doing but it was just stuff that happened. I don't use big sticks much anymore. I backed off when smaller clubs, in their infinite wisdom, continued to ask for the drum volume to go down even without mics. I experimented with SD4 combo sticks, Zoro Signature series and some of the Royster signature series. I wanna say this one is using the SD4 combos.

I just watched a few drum covers of this song, and learned it(from the band in concert)...the 1st cover guy you could hear the drums so off it sometimes even sounded flanged, so I watch 3 more of his videos, and I think he needs to pick up a guitar,the whole time he's trying and failing at the finger twist..just bad..the other one, the person left out 20 % of the song....but hey man nice job...
What up my friend? I was glad to see a comment on this because it was removed for a while. I am glad that got resolved. The first time this ended up in a cover set and I saw a video of me doing it with a cover band, ooooohhhh........I went back to the drawing board. It just wasn't right and it all revolved around doing too much. Filter does an superb job of using all that space to build in such an epic way on this. I say all that to say I just tried with the cover to stay in my lane while knowing I took some liberties. Hey man, I appreciate the hell out of ya watching! 🤘🤘🤘
Most people dont know, Filter was made by the 1st NIN guitarist, Trent before he went off to do Downward Spiral 93 I think..told him to record some stuff on his own...and we got Short Bus..
