I dont think it's fair to the character, because I know he's a good dude, but he is a torn individual (and writers frequently do a bad job of writing him, especially now)

Ok so a bit of rant that i have with the way Insomniac dealt with the character of Black Cat. Insomniac had a real opportunity here to explore Peter and Felicia's relationship outside the preconception that she strings peter along and peter acts like a simp and allows her to get away with pulling off crime, in fact not only that Insomniac could have had a proper Felicia x Peter ship if they did have a kid because even tho the multiverse infinite there is no single confirmed universe where they end up happy together including the bery universe that Black Cat and peter end up marrying in. In the comics Felicia Hardy is a reformed criminal( emphasis on reformed because Spider-Man would not date her until she left her criminal past behind and was ready to throw her back in prison if she ever turned back to thievery) and when do start dating Felicia feels a genuine attraction to him and overall they have a really great relationship that is somewhat soured by the fact that Felicia is more attracted to Spider-Man than Peter Parker but she was very committed to being with him even to the point that when she and peter went to fight doc ock she was shot with bullets and arrows and lay near death's door, later to continue fighting alongside him she would undergo procedures to give her bad luck powers. Unfortunately they began manifesting on peter himself and black cat soon found out that to be the very reason kingpin gave her the powers so that they would give peter bad luck leading to his demise that she decided to break up with him which was foiled when peter dumped her first. Fast forward to now and in the comics peter and felicia have moved past their differences and are good friends and still occasionally team up and Felicia and MJ are best friends. Instead of adapting any of this Insomniac chose to fuel the fires and now everyone still holds the notion of Black Cat being some manipulator who seduces Peter to get away with robbery which is really ironic because in the comics Felicia hates that label and says the time she spent with Spider-Man was and still is an important part of her life (so much so that when said times with peter were erased post One More Day she went down a deep depressive spiral) and that makes me kinda mad infact I'm not even exaggerating when I say that Insomniac pulled a character assassination on the level of the new Amazing Spider-Man run with Mary Jane or One More Day with peter with how much the black cat differs from her comic book version
TLDR: this version of black cat is nothing like her comics counterpart and is the comics version ever met this one and found out she manipulated peter with a fake story of a child much less hers and Peter's she would smack her harder than peter did Kingpin

Edit: so I just found out where this kind of interpretation of Felicia's character actually come from from 2009 all the way to 2018 Felicia was a criminal and had a fling with Spider-Man and got him to let her get away with crime until she got knocked out by superior Spider-Man and had the whole Queenpin of crime arc. So One More Day is also responsible for the regression of a complex and likable character into the Ms. Felicia- bitchy and makes Peter simp over her- Hardy I really hate One More Day
