I love how they changed mf in the ruined king, it makes her feel like an actual character instead of some bilgewater stripper.
I like the mix of her still having that flirtatious side, but using it more to catch enemies off guard or just to be chummy with her allies while still being a badass

I actually think support-oriented characters are often the “leaders.” You can even look at like, Genshin for instance. Almost all of the archons are support-focused characters, and I think that’s just because an effective “leader” is inherently supportive, and having the tools to underscore shot-calling, engaging with the opposition, and enabling those you’re responsible for is just what a leader should do.

I'm no gun expert either, but I heard that the AK47 is the most popular gun ever because it's not only easy to produce and train but also easy to maintain, in such way that even if you find one on the middle forest covered in mud for weeks, you can still polish it back to funtion with ease, so I bet those guns are something like the runeterra aquivalent of the AK47 where they are really effective and easy to maintain, highlighting how skilled her mother whas at her job.
Swain being a support makes in my head since he is a general, if he were directing what the ADC was doing

15:00 MF sup was a good Zyra counter mostly bc she could one shot plants due to her AA passive. Back in the day, it took all champs two AAs to kill a plant but not MF.
This interaction was removed around the same time melee champs were allowed to one shots plants.
The range on MF's E did help though.

Miss fortune is such a case, her lore and personality shines thtru EVERY OTHER MEDIA except league. If someone's gonna get an ASU after teemo, miss fortune is high on the priority list, because MY GOD she looks terrible.

iirc, the reason MF mains disliked the proposed VO update is because it removed her seductive lines.
Which makes me sad because people being horny is what's stopping this character from being fully realized imo. No matter how badass she is in comics and other games, all she is in league is a pair of swaying boobs, and riot capitalizes on that on most if not all her skins. And I don't think they want to loose that
Wouldn't the compromise be making the old model a skin to the ASU? So, Captain Fortune becomes the default skin, with the previous default being a skin that keeps the old voicelines.
Being sexy is just a core of MF. I think it’s fair to say that she should be a flirty cocky badass pirate woman. I think it’s important to let strong woman to be feminine.

The funny part about an ASU is that they can just switch captain Fortune skin and the model and for people that had Captain Fortune they can give them a classic Miss Fortune skin. In a way, old MF model is iconic, for better or worse. Like, it makes sense why she is dressed really sexy, so conserving that aspect as a lore skin makes the most sense ever
Could be Mandela, but I also remember the MF VO update and being disappointed it never went live. My recollection is that, much like they did with Lux, they had her VA in for...Gun Goddess? And were going to take advantage by recording new base lines too. But this never even made it to PBE, supposedly testing poorly...??? I don't think the VO was ever shared publicly. Feel like I read this on old forums, or maybe "boards" so you'd really have to dig this up.
For her gameplay, I always supposed that this is how she fights in like a bar scrum or swinging onto the deck of an enemy ship, very pirate-y. It's the point that she drops all pretense and just all out brawls
I feel like the hate on gun goddess is a bit overblown now. Elementalist Lux basically sabotaged all ultimate skins going forward because it had so much value that they simply can’t or won’t replicate. All ultimates from now till the end of time will never feel worth the price by comparison. As a skin gun goddess is still cool though.
Compared to other ultimates at the time the hate was somewhat warranted imo. But we were unaware just how far riot would fall lol. Anyone who thinks the Samira skin is good value just shouldn't have opinions on price I swear

Leaders shuld be support: they are the ones who, if they do their job correctly, keep everyone alive and can call shots for everyone.
Supports are roaming and claiming objectives while staying outside of the spotlight.
Leblanc should be a support, it makes more sense.
Swain, in contrast, is a tyrant, he is an asshole who wants power and want to bask in his glory, so it makes more sense to be a midlaner, the primadonna of the team
The culture movement when support MF won 2 back to back games at worlds and Riot changed their picture on twitter to MF lives rent free in my mind and is what made me pick up the champ. I agree that she needs to get the Caitlyn treatment and her base skin can get the Traditional Sejuani treatment. That being said, we're getting closer and closer to the champion that made me install this game in the first place: Nami. That's another champion who needs a VO update.

There may be a lot of champs that desperately needs an ASU, but I rarely talk about MF needing one. She is like Master Yi and Zilean where she has a much better character in other games besides League. She could definitely use one

Miss Fortune did actually receive both a visual and a gameplay update, just like gangplank did. She got her gameplay update sometime before the marksman rework, and then in the marksman rework she got further tweaks and a visual update. Nicky boy forgot how MF actually looked and played!

I personally like commanding character being in the support role, like Renata, its like you are commanding your adc to do the things for you.
So I dont mind Swain as a support. But I have to say that Azir wouldnt work that way, since his kit is already about his sand soldier doing the work for him.
The reason why MF and other ones gets so many skins it’s because their skins would sell way more then other champs say like zilean, look at gargas so many people voiced their opinions on if he got the KDA skin people would actually buy it, my point is if you want a certain champ to get a skin you gotta show riot that champ is popular and will sell a lot of skins.
It is certainly a factor, but also a big factor is how easy the champion model is to make skins for - MF is incredibly simple in that regard

Gangplank had the fortune of changing designs greatly to fit the narrative. Meanwhile Miss Fortune has a skin that fits the narrative, yet her base model is stuck looking like a 90s pin-up model.
I think sometimes making Leader character a support can fit them. They just need to have right vibe like" I dont fight I make other people fight for me" or "Im mastermind that strategize at the back row".

I like her other designs as well and I agree her base skin is outdated but if I'm being honest I like and enjoy how unapologetically stereotypically sexy and proportioned lmao. I feel like everything feels so taboo and hidden now and having a character like her still feels nice even if it's gooner core.
MF is the strange mix of an easy to use character who’s a hot red head and also a pirate. She was made to sell skins!
Thing is that Support MF only risen in popularity because of the Worlds matchup against Zyra and I don't think Riot ever intended for that to happen just players coming up with wacky build that worked and stayed I guess.
Ap Mf is one of my fav thing ever in League, you sit and farm, play like a pus**y until you get the 1st burn item and just slay the enemy team with Liandry's and Collector,
Fortune has two states. One where she clears the enemy team like paper in a bullet storm
and another where Braum blocks her entire ult.
Either one is great time to be Miss Fortune.

MF is a prime candidate for an ASU. I get she has a thousand skins, but just imagine all the money they would make with her.

MF having a bucket load of skins is WHY she hasn't had an ASU or VGU. Riot don't wan't to do that much work if they don't have to.

Technically Captain Fortune is her canon look so if you choose that it wouldn't be wrong. Some things I wanna say that I agree/disagree with though:
Will say the hat is goofy a bit but guess that's just how captains wear hats in this world, but the pistols are ment to be that big cause they're hand cannons, and in this world, kinda literally. The bullets are miniature cannonballs in a sense. As for her gameplay, she's heavy on her R doing the damage mostly, that's the reason it's the highest damaging ability in the game. I'll never understand why they for some reason never gave her an ASU or at least have given her the nidalee treatment with her lines, especially since on MULTIPLE occasions they've had her VA there with them but who knows. Personally I always liked gun goddess and thought every bitching about it are just mad it ain't like elementaless lux. See, for starters, Riot already said anything like elementaless lux is never gonna happen again just because of how taxing it is on the servers, and now people hold that skin on a damn pedestal and anything that isn't remotely close to it, is considered a bad ultimate skin, when first of all, Udyr's ultimate skin doesn't do jack shit either and no one bitches about that skin, and that was after pulsefire ezreal which also doesn't have much either compared to lux's. I get it, seraphines sucked especially since they tied it to 3 separate skins in one, and Samira's (while I love it) was kinda lacking a bit, I still think people try to compare them to lux's WAY too much. Not everyone ultimate skin is gonna be exactly like her's and people need to get that into they're thickass, stubborn skulls.
While I get where you and others are coming from in terms of being done with so many of her outfits and designs appealing to the horny crowd, I must disagree with the notion of discarding it altogether in a future redesign or refinement of her visual elements. Her captain skin is absolutely her best skin without a doubt, but it still retains an element of sex appeal and I believe it works for her character. She started out as a bounty hunter, working in a location filled with some of the slimiest and most ruthless elements in Runeterra. Sarah knew she could lean into her natural, raw sex appeal to catch targets off guard, or manipulate people during negotiations into giving her a better deal. She took advantage of the baser nature of humanity, while still keeping them at arm's length, to rise to the top and get what she wanted.
Now she's at the top of the dog pile in Bilgewater, but she's still dealing with the same sorts of people. Sure, she wears more respectable dresses or outfits, befitting a captain or leader of her caliber, but her sex appeal has been as much of a tool in her arsenal as anything else. She has developed a name and a reputation, which she still relies on as much as her guns and guile to get what she wants. It isn't beyond imagination that, in her eyes, the outward presentation or persona of "Miss Fortune" isn't complete without at least a touch of carnal temptation to keep her admirers and enemies off balance.
I agree that sex and seduction do not need to be the totality of Sarah's character or personality. We've already got (your superior) Cassiopeia and Evelyn for that. However, I equally believe that throwing away the alluring or seductive elements of her design or VA altogether is just as much of a mistake as making them the entirety of her design. It isn't easy, but Sarah Fortune is at her best when striking a balance between ruthless pirate queen and fiery, redheaded femme fatale.

I really don't understand the idea that she doesn't "look" like how her lore would suggest. Does accentuating her features somehow exclude her from being a person that wants to avenge her parents' murders? Does the way she dress disqualify her from feeling pressured to take on the role of the cruelest pirate around so that an actually cruel person doesn't take that place, instead?
Why does recognizing one's own attractiveness suddenly make them less of a character in people's eyes?

I disagree. They already have an entire updated model and improved version of her they used for the Climb cinematic. The one where Illaoi drags her underwater. The concept art on ArtStation shows a much upgraded version of current base MF that to me perfectly shows what an ASU for her needs to be. That’s my take
