    If you have to decrease your rates and/or end points in order to get the right amount of control surface throw, it’s a dead giveaway that your control horns are too short or your servo arms are too long. Any time you decrease the throw in your transmitter, you are decreasing the resolution and accuracy of it. Note the high rate of 80% on the elevator of the 90mm Freewing F-22 Raptor. It forced them to use 60% for low rate. Had they used the proper linkage geometry, they could have set the high rate to 100% and the low rate to 75%. That amounts to a 25% difference in resolution. And with a full flying stab, you need all the resolution and accuracy you can get..

    Hmm I think back in the day of 72mhz before computer radios, and manuals didn't have dual rates listed. How times have changed. 😁

    Hello and thank you for this video! May I ask something? I use the inside trim to reduce the movement of the servos. Isn't that the same thing? Let's say I have a 3 way switch, 1st position 100 2nd 50 and 3rd 20.

    James. How would the my A3 Pro effect how I set my rates on my jet? Should I still set the rates at all seeing that the gyro limits the bank angle?

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  3 года назад +1

      Gyro won't limit your bank angle unless you tell it. I set my rates always.

    Well have programmed a ar636 receiver with a plane with as3x and safe. Done throttle cut and safe switch on and off but the rates that are programmed in I'm finding it hard to assign a switch. Taking it out 2morrow for a maiden we will see how I go

    What kind of radio is that is that what you fly with??

  • @kjenkin53
    @kjenkin53 3 года назад +1

    Problem with rates, in an emergency, when you need full rates, you have to fumble for a switch(if you have time).
    I prefer to get my lower travel by using expo, then I still have full motion at full stick without fumbling for a switch.

      Absolutely stand by the same principle. I'd rather tame down an aircraft by using expo and keep full deflections available for when needed :)

    I can't think of a single bird that I don't fly at 150% rates.

    Why has Motion RC increased Freewing parts prices so much? You explained airplane prices going up on the order of 10% but parts prices are up from 25% to 80% why is that!

    It is frustrating when they post videos advertising products that haven’t been in stock for months. Perhaps wait until products are back in stock before paying a video using those products. 👍

      The product isn't what this video is about. And, not every video is designed to sell items immediately. This video is to help people who may not know what rates are
