Dead Boy Detectives is a supernatural horror detective-comedy television series based on the DC Comics characters of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, starring George Rexstrew (Edwin Paine), Jayden Revri (Charles Rowland), Kassius Nelson (Crystal Palace), Yuyu Kitamura (Niko), Briana Cuoco (Jenny the Butler), Ruth Connell (the Night Nurse), Jenn Lyon (Esther), Lukas Gage (Thomas the Cat King), Michael Beach (Tragic Mick), Joshua Colley (Monty), David Iacono (David the Demon), and a special appearance by Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Death from Netflix's THE SANDMAN).

Oh, you're good! It's funny to see how surprised everybody seem to get smart and deep questions. And not just "did you take anything from the set" kind of ones.
And sometimes it takes them a while to come up with the decent answer. Which in turn opens more about the show and the idea behind it and makes one want to start watching episodes
YES! And the material is so layered that I made the executive decision to just do a spoilers interview. I didn't feel like as many people in the audience knew about the series beforehand so instead of getting a spoiler-free interview up early, it felt like a better approach to take so that the talent would be able to speak openly instead of having to tiptoe around what they were allowed (or not allowed) to talk about before the episodes were released. 👻
@@LadyJenevia Hi, have you seen the juncket interview questions? Every single one of the interviewers asks only "what was it like to kiss a friend/pretend to have sex with a friend". And not a single substantial question of of character growth. Oh, I wish you'd been there to elevate the conversation about romance movies.

@@KutsAnka No it’s not a problem I just had to stop and pause to make sure I knew what I was reading and what it was actually about. I was in talks to try to get onto the junket but obviously I didn’t make the cut. I feel less disappointed because where is Luke Thompson in all of this? 😂

Another brilliant interview!! You ask such insightful questions, and build such an easy rapport with the interviewees, it's a pleasure to watch. I especially enjoyed the conversations about Niko's character. I would not have thought to ask those questions, but I loved hearing everyone's thoughts, and they've given me things to consider in my own writing and character development, so thank you. Also, Niko was just straight up my favourite character. So kind and strong, and I adored her friendship with Edwin. I love that whilst the Cat King is the one who pushed Edwin to confront the truth about his sexuality and feelings for Charles, it was Niko's easy and ready acceptance of him that helped him to accept himself.
I just adore found family stories.
I thought you should know, I was so interested in watching your interview and you were so excited about the show, that I watched the show as soon as it was released, instead of simply adding it to be "to be watched" list and putting it off for a couple of months. So that's now two things I've watched and loved because of you. So, you know, thank you. Again.

every time i watch one of your interviews i’m struck by how GOOD you are at this.
it’s so cool watching all of them get progressively more engaged through the course of the interview, you can tell they really appreciated your questions! i especially loved the ones you asked about niko- it’s too hard to choose a single favorite character, but niko is hands down the one i relate to the most, & i LOVE what yuyu said about niko kind of living in her own fantasy & the way it shows her desire for connection!!

It’s a very specific challenge to try to build a rapport with talent when you only have 5 minutes per interview (especially when you have more than one person to speak to in an interview slot) but I really do love it when I have the opportunity to be on a junket. ☺️
I also really wanted to unpack the relationship between Edwin and Niko since I thought that was such an unexpectedly sweet part of the first season but… 5 minutes only! 😂👻
