This guy's skill level is off the charts. The saw weighs more than he does and has incredible torque yet he handles it like it's a small little limbing saw and even used it one handed. Amazing. I have operated saws all my life as an amateur that fells trees, bucks them and burns wood. I'm 6'2 and 190 pounds and generally operate saws smaller than that because that is a big heavy saw. The fact he climbed that tree barefoot, hung on without ropes and carried that heavy saw while he free climbed is amazing. His cuts are perfect. Pound for pound the strongest cat I've ever seen operate a saw.

Their safety standards certainly aren't up to what we're accustomed to, but the person operating the main saw in this documentary has impressive skills. Imgine what he could accomplsh if given our expected level of equipment? He did all this while barely attached to the tree with more than a couple toenails! Add to it he's taking respectable undercut wedges with a full size saw. I wouldn't want to have to grapple with him on the mat! Very impressive video, but I can't say I'll recommend it for training purposes stateside!
Thank You for sharing how work is done elsewhere on the globe, it helps me appreciate what we've accomplished over here.

I wonder if flip-flops are the new trend in dangerous jobs in Asia. At the same time I'm trying to don't get taken away by the safety measures taken by professional loggers all over the world, whom by the way, wear as much protection as possible while performing these dangerous tasks.
These guys don't seem to be too worry about staying alive for another job, which seem to be some kind of second nature to them.
These videos should be part of the training to get certified as a professional logger, anywhere else in the world.
By the way, my safety boots, gloves, helmets and most of my safety equipment is manufactured in Asia, of all places.
It is my sincere hope that these crazy brave men are still alive.
    Greetings from Toronto.

The guy going up the tree barefoot and releasing tension (by free hand cutting) on limbs measuring easily in the metric ton range without falling off or dropping the saw was jaw dropping.
