    Generic drugs don't work for me. I take it and it's ineffective. Changed to another and it's still is ineffective. Brand name works just fine.

      Yup me too! Specifically Advil and it’s not placebo effect either because I never assumed this before i discovered it

      @@bms77it’s the placebo, off brand advil is literally advil, it’s such a simple drug.

      no it's not a placebo. I didn't even know I got a generic. I learned recently that what I have is generic, and I keep a food journal and documents of my days and how I feel. I also keep pharmacy receipts. I looked through my notes, and found the culprit. My vyvanse medication changed to generic, and all I feel are negative side effects without it being helpful. @@Starwarman1

    This doctor needs to be humbled. Next time your asked to appear on the news to speak about a specific topic , you should do a bit of research instead of assuming you know everything. Everybody knows that generic medicines have the same amount of active ingredient in them, your wasting everybody's time telling people what they already know...
    Now what the doctor should have said is There certainly can be a difference in generic medications. This difference is in what's called bioequivalence, which is when 2 drugs are equal in the rate and time they are having their intended effects on the body...the FDA DOES NOT require drugs to be bioequivalent , they require a generic drug to be + or - 20% of the original branded medication. Meaning it's can be as high as 120% or as low as 80%.

      Thank you! Well said. Brand name Advil has always worked for my headaches but the generic Advil has NEVER worked at all… I even discovered this by accident as I had always taken generics and realized I never got relief and basically tried brand name by accident and BOOM night n day diff

      Generic is made for poor people, branded medicine is made for rich.

    It depends on how important the medicine is. I’ll buy generic cough/allergy medicine, but not potentially life saving medicine. Like Asthma or Heart medicine. In my experience, branded seems to be better quality.

      YES! I feel the same way. Generic Advil has NEVER worked at all for my headaches but brand name always cures em in 20 minutes and I discovered this by accident and wasn’t even thinking about it as I had always assumed they should work the same. Everyone is different and not all drugs are created equal. The fillers and inactive ingredients don’t have to be the same and they can effect how well the active is absorbed or works in general. Now I’ve taken other generic drugs that worked just fine- it just seems to be ibuprofen that doesn’t work the same for me when it’s generic. Most people will be simple about this and tell you that they all work the same no exceptions lol. This isn’t true at all

    That’s not true do your research 😕

    • @bms77
      @bms77 Год назад

      What’s not true? The actives are the same BUT they’re not always the same quality w the same INactive ingredients. I’ve done my research and even had a doctor tell me why certain generics don’t seem to work when their brand name counterpart does. Advil brand name works great for me but generics never have and it’s NOT placebo because I discovered it by accident as I had always taken generic Advil and realized I ever had relief. Wasn’t until I accidentally tried Advil brand name and noticed how fast the pain went away and was repeatable and has been repeatable to this day
