This song is mine and my wife's song. We began dating in 1988 when she was 16 and I was 18. Our next anniversary will be 33 years. I told her I would marry her again and play this song at our little get together. Even though I loved Chicago with Peter Cetera the best, this song really speaks to me personally and IMO is one of the best.
I played this song right before I asked my wife to marry me. She said yes. Sadly, she died a couple of years ago of a drug overdose. Rest in Peace, dear Elizabeth. I will see you again someday in a better place.
This song's lyrics express exactly how I feel. My 39 year old, handsome husband died on May 3, 2020. He overdosed on drugs. Our entire five year marriage I tried unsuccessfully to help him stop. It's so hard to go on without him. I loved him with all my heart and soul. There is a huge empty void in my heart that can never be filled. Sam I love you eternally and miss you dearly. RIP my love. God bless you always.

@Jason Tea That particular song was released when I was 14, way back in.1986. Then, and currently at 48, to me, it meant and means someone wanting a long and enduring relationship with the right person with plenty of romance, but with the underlying theme of everyone being imperfect and prone to bumps in the road, thus the line and title, "Will You Still Love Me?", as in would someone still love someone when they know how the other person really is. To put another way, would someone still love someone else despite themselves and all their flaws? That each human being is flawed and that most people want a long, meaningful relationship and that most relationships that last are more emotional rather than physical, that is what I take from that song. There is physicality, but the emotions take control more than anything else.

Robbie is the love of my life. Waited 36 years to find each other. True love story. Very blessed to have a true man heart. Unbelieveable. Thank you Jesus. I always knew the kind of love we shared was pure.
86 to 89 holds a special place in my heart, where syrupy, almost soppy power ballads that incorporated love themes were revered and celebrated for their vocal and musical aspects.
i know this makes me old, but i agree. Now days the teenagers (my students) listen to songs that right out mention the sexual things they want to do. THe language is perverted now. Chicago knew how to turn a song to show sweet innocent love.
Jason Scheff nailed this song. It would be awkward if Peter Cetera cover this. Same with Jason who sings Cetera songs. Both of them are great singers. Loved Chicago.
"Take me as I am" is the best lyrics of any love song. Men need to stop changing who they are for a woman who won't do the same or thinks you are not good enough how you are. Find someone who loves you for you, and you don't have to change who you are for NOBODY BUT YOU! If she can't accept that, she don't deserve you. Stay strong my boys and don't take ANYONE LESS than what you want, someone who values you for who you are and won't want you to change.
I literally just heard this playing in the subway station. Forgot all about this song! This was one of my favorite songs growing up. Beautiful voices!!❤
One of the few love power ballads that I will listen to without singing along -- because Jason Scheff's vocals don't need my "average" singing talents to harmonize. His voice is perfect for this song, so I keep quiet -- and dream of dancing in the park at midnight with my husband. It's the perfect soundtrack to my dream... ...and, thankfully, my Hubby is a decent dancer.
For what it’s worth, Peter Cetera heard and loved Chicago 18, with his only criticism being the remake of 25 or 6 to 4, to which he referred to as “unnecessary”. Cetera even called Jason Scheff and left him a congratulatory voicemail for being chosen to replace him.
I was 16, and formed a lot of my naive beliefs about love on this song. Luckily for me, I never totally gave up on those ideas. God knows we need a little clear romance in a crazy world.
Was just thinking and feeling the same bro. Songs like this fed us with a certain pure and strong romance while the world is way too cynical for that. But we can’t be wrong to bring romance back not to mention the musical quality of songs like these.
Definitely a masterpiece. This is one of few songs in which vocals blend perfectly with the instrument and harmonize beautifully in all parts of the song.
I just listened to this and tears started to fall, not because I am in love and want this to be played as the official song on my wedding day, but because I was married and spent more than half my life (24 years) with the wrong person, and now I that we are separated, I don't know if I could still experience the joy and emotion as I stand at the altar to finally be with the right person.
Wow i also sing this song while asking my fiancee will you still love me for the rest of my life but because of my jealousness we broke up still.plan to get him bck.
Imagine this: you are at the roller skating rink with your crush you’ve liked forever, the lights go dim and the disco ball pops out. Your heart pours with pure joy and butterflies flutter in your stomach. He asks you to dance and you hold hands together while gliding across the rink timelessly. Bonus: imagine it actually being the 80’s in that moment.
Was riding by the Cumberland River walk while listening to this song and I could envision the one God has for me walking, hand in hand, together. I truly hope that vision becomes reality sooner rather than later. I'll be the happiest man on Earth.
This song will always remind me those high school days in the 80s. We had no cell phones. We had no laptops or home computers. But we always had fun 🙋♂️

Also, the extended intro... I remember the first time I heard the local radio station dj play the extended version-- his voice over went something like this... "WOW!!! oh WoW! oh WOW!!! Lots of calls... calls EVERY night for "Will You Still Love Me? by Chicago!!! WE all love it!!!"
First cd ever bought when I bought my CD player in 86 at Caldors! Saw Chicago in 87 and Jason did the song justice when he redid it for his solo album Here I Am!!! LOVE JASON AND CHICAGO!
Man ..... This eighties is the best there is. Hanged out with Robert Lamm and Jason Scheff twice. Such cool band with best songs. Too bad Bill Champlin had left the band now.
This song was sung by Scheff originally anyway! It was perfect! Scheff would sing this as the lead single from Chicago 18 while Cetera went on to sing The Glory of Love for his Solitude/Solitaire album. Both achieved a good degree more than a modicum of success after the split -- Cetera / Chicago.
This song is remarkably outstanding!!! It brings back fond memories and feelings that happened 20 over years ago. As a deejay I still spin this particular track as it is EXCELLENT.
Esa canción significa mucho para mi toda la vida mi padre fue quien me enseño a apreciar el tanto de ese grupo.. Mi padre murió pero me dejó esto y más de la música verdaderamente buena los quiero mucho Chicago

Take me as I am
Put your hand in mine now and forever
Darling here I stand, stand before you now
Deep inside I always knew
It was you, you and me
Two hearts drawn together bound by destiny
It was you and you for me
Every road leads to your door
Every step I take forever more
Just say you'll love me for the rest of your life
I gotta lot of love and I don't want to let go
Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
Cause I can't go on
No, I can't go on
I can't go on
If I'm on my own
Take me as I am
Put your heart in mine, stay with me forever
'cause I am just a man who never understood
I never had a thing to prove
Till there was you
You and me
Then it all came clear so suddenly
How close to you that I want to be
Just say you'll love me for the rest of your life
I gotta lot of love and I don't want to let go
Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
Cause I can't go on
No, I can't go on
I can't go on
If I'm on my own
Do you believe a love could run so stong?
Do you believe a love could pass you by?
There was no special one for me
I was the lovely one, you see
But then my heart lost all control
Now you're all that I know
Just say you'll love me for the rest of your life
I gotta lot of love and I don't want to let go
Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
Cause I can't go on
No, I can't go on
I can't go on
If I'm on my own

For what it’s worth, Peter Cetera heard and loved Chicago 18, with his only criticism being the remake of 25 or 6 to 4, to which he referred to as “unnecessary”. Cetera even called Jason Scheff and left him a congratulatory voicemail for being chosen to replace him.
I was 16, and formed a lot of my naive beliefs about love on this song. Luckily for me, I never totally gave up on those ideas. God knows we need a little clear romance in a crazy world.
There's still romance in this world. We are just too busy to think about other things.
This song is great! I listen to it a lot. Thanks Chicago, still crazy about you after all these years! 😚
Who's with me in the time machine to go back to the 80s ??? 😀
Yes dude the 80s rule this 50 year old man is ready to go let's ditch 2020 and go back to Pacman walkmans and great music like this
This was literally my 1st favorite song as a child. I still get goosebumps. 80s forever 💖
中学3年から高校3年迄毎日聞いていた感動の曲です。楽曲、メロディ、ハーモニー全てが最高で盛り上がります。とても素敵な学生時代を過ごせました。

same here
Yes me toooo..I really love it. I keep playing it over and over..❤❤
Me three!
😢
My wedding song.. im married to the love of my life for 29 years❤️
Wow i also sing this song while asking my fiancee will you still love me for the rest of my life but because of my jealousness we broke up still.plan to get him bck.

The kings of the power ballad.
One of the best song in the world .
This was the song my wife and I walked out of the church to as a newly married couple 30 years ago.
80s .... when times were peaceful and pleasant
Miss those days so much
Realy miss 80's but The music still stay in my heart.
1986 I was 12 and loved this song then. Now in 2021 I love this song even more. Thanks Chicago and RUclips.
Was riding by the Cumberland River walk while listening to this song and I could envision the one God has for me walking, hand in hand, together. I truly hope that vision becomes reality sooner rather than later. I'll be the happiest man on Earth.
This is their best song, imo.
This song will always remind me those high school days in the 80s. We had no cell phones. We had no laptops or home computers. But we always had fun 🙋♂️

This was the song I wrote my vows to. Two hearts drawn together by destiny.... Will you still love me for the rest of my life June 6, 2008. (6/7/2008)
Dennis Carrington dday
A very special moment to be remembered...
Love the extended outro this has that radio stations usually do not play..
This is a very sad songs when someone is losing each other.
Bee gees, Chicago and air supply.... Love this 80's band...
& ToTo?
@@user-zj1gz4zr3i Yes of course!🙌🏾

great song please check out Chicago - Chicago II Album Review on my channel
Kids from this generation dont know these kind of music .i was born in 2002 but i listen to songs from the 80s and 90s
Jason now too. All that’s left is Robert and some of the horn section.
A masterpiece. Even without Cetera
So true!
Why is not Cetera in the band? What happened with him?
@@gansofreson9870Like every rock n roll story goes, Cetera left to pursue a solo career.
Es Chicago?
Adore this song!
1 of my all time favorite Love Songs! TY for posting 😊
2022 and this song still gives me a chill down my spine!🎸🥰😎
When Eternal love was worth fighting for and it gave you the power to win in God's name in the past!
My favorite song. 80´s the best decade.
Love this song.....The killer parts are the keyboard intro and outro. Robert Lamm is such an unsung hero
David Foster is a songwriting genius
YES he is!
This song is remarkably outstanding!!! It brings back fond memories and feelings that happened 20 over years ago. As a deejay I still spin this particular track as it is EXCELLENT.
