To add to the list of Rosh Hashanahs on the calendar, we celebrate a Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus and chassidic philosophy on the 19th of the month of Kislev! Love your outlook on sin. So important to remember it's not about sin, but about being human! :)

    As i remember.. another reason for new things in the new fruits is because we use to say 'shehecheyanu' on the kiddush of the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah. So having a new fruit is a way to make sure that if the 'shehecheyanu' is not really needed to be said about the second day, it will be for the new fruit..
    It's kind of backup because we are not sure that 'shehecheyanu' is needed on the 2nd day

    Could you please link the synagogues who stream High Holiday services? B'nai Jeshurun streams on RUclips, but I'd love to view services at a new synagogue.

    I liked this video, but the part where sin is downplayed I didn't like. Sin is very important and recognizing it is also very important. Not in a legalistic manor but in a way to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us to the point of true repentance. :) I'm excited to celebrate this this year as a new Christian and encourage all 'Gentile' Christians to bring back more of these traditions that help us glorify God and become closer to Him! Thank you so much for sharing this! It was really helpful!

      well i guess that’s because you’re looking from a christian perspective, jewish people have a different outlook generally

    Shana Tovah! These Holy Days of reflection are a time to reset and learn to know thyself and improve upon it. After Yom Kippur, I recommend reading "Revelations On Interstellar Highway 10". Shalom.

    Thanks for sharing. :) So when did Judaism stop using the term sin? Don't the Scriptures imply that missing the mark morally equals sin?

    • @floridame2965
      @floridame2965 3 года назад

      Judaism still uses "sin" in the liturgy. There is a particular prayer asking for forgiveness for a list of sins, e.g. "for the sin of xenophobia".

    hi not jewish but was wondering if you could answer this? why is some pastors telling us that we must give a rosh hashanah offering? Not sure if this is true or not. thank you for your help.

      Lori
      We celebrated Rosh Hashanah Sunday in our church. Because we support Israel. If your pastor is asking for an offering & you don't feel lead by the Holy Spirit , then don't give. Tithing ( 10 %) & giving is biblical . God is looking for you to trust Him - He don't need money. I know that since I tithed God has always provided for me.
