My relay was fine. Pulled the starter out and had it tested at Autozone. Ended up buying a new one for $104.99 with Lifetime warranty. Working great so far.
STREETFIGHTER50 what symptoms did you have? My 06 Corolla is no crank I hear the humming but nothing happens. Just one click when I turn the key. May be the starter is gone
IIRC, first I checked the battery was fully charged and all the wires/terminals were clean and tight. When I turned the key I’d hear a very slight click so I guessed the relay was good. The starter itself wouldn’t turn at all.
Thanks for the video, a question , my matrix 2009 starter stay engaged one second after the engine run , what could be the problem thanks to answer me back
Do you have to disconnect the battery? Also what's that wire? The one I bought is Duracell or something like that but doesn't have that wire. It looks just like a plug switch to be inserted. I'm having a hard time pulling the old one out.
All I want is to see how the little brass catch is attached to keep the compartment door shut but it flashes by too fast! Can you take a picture of it please? Mine fell off when I took the door off and I can't figure out how to attach it, it's driving me nuts lol!
Thank you, You made it look easier than the other video I watched.
Great Scot God bless you!!!!

Replacing the starter was very easy too! You can access it all from the top.

Little girl right here… ooookayyyyy….
Lots of videos showing where this relay is but nobody shows how to do it. I do not believe it is actually possible to remove.
By the way, I was wondering if any of you could tell me where do I look for more of Scot's videos besides this one? Thanks, kindly to all.
What are the symptoms of bad starter relay?
Same question
Asking the same
The vehicle does not start, it does not make any sound, it simply does not start even if the battery is charged.
Same
For a 07 I’m guessing
Anyone who know why the sign display on dashboard always on when i switch off the engine and remove the key it's still on
Toyota corolla 2007
Anyone know if this would be the same location for the 1st generation Matrix and Pontiac Vibe?
Pretty sure it is burried in the passenger side dash. Just payed about $500 to have someone diagnose it and change it
$500!? Geezuz for what?
Labor for pulling the front kick panel and replacing it, the $80 relay, diagnosis, and tow :/
@@jeremyhundley3142 Thats a swindle if I ever heard one, im sorry man.
How do you take the relay out??
You disconnect the fat plug in the way I think thats the ecu plug. Now you got alot of room to remove the relay by hand
