Lapras was great, combined battling with new cards and the dopamine of opening packs, wonder pick events are okay but only if they are going on at the same time as a drop event honestly, its not enough to stand on its own
One thing to note that wasn't mentioned in the vid is that the Promo Jigglypuff and Haunter both have a different attack than their regular version counterpart.
Honestly I like this new event since there is really no pressure to get the 'main' card. It's a normal Venasaur with some different art, so really you just want one copy.
Since you don't lose stamina on losses you're able to complete most side objectives without having to finish the battle. That way you should only need to spend a single stamina on each of the lower tier fights.
Lucky I need arcanine ex, I've doen it 3 times and every time I got charizard lol. At the every least it allowed me to finish the quest to get the charizard avatar
As a Pokémon Go player, I’m very familiar with this kind of pattern in events. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see something like a fossil event soon after.
My luck with pulling cards has been insane. My luck with battles, like coin flips and drawing cards in battle have been so absolutely terrible. I lost to a dark/steel melmetal/weezing deck that didnt use dark energy while using a fully built Starticuno deck. Ive got 1 heads out of the last 10 or so Mistys I've played.
Love the lapras event ! Not so much into the current wonderpick event compared to the previous wonderpick with meowith there was shop items + promo stamps on the card which made it fun
Agreed that the Lapras event was the best, but I do think that a pity system would be good for that. For the fire event, it's useful to get bonus picks but rare picks aren't as worth it unless you're really keen on flares for Arcanine EX. But once you're done with Arcanine EX, the rest of the cards aren't worth the cost of 3 wonder picks. I'm looking for a regular Arcanine and Charizard, and wouldn't mind getting more to complete the themed mission, but that really isn't worth 3 wonder picks
The lapras event is the only real one we’ve had containing promo cards and actual rewards. The rest have just been wonder picks and battling for emblems.
I think I can accept random wonder pick events that last a couple days if we are also getting events that we battle and get random promo packs, and pvp gets ranked The game has taken off quickly, millions of downloads. Give the company developing the game about a month to get stuff sorted and we could end up in consecutive events going on with rewards and freebies Im excited for the future of this game, Ive been looking for a new game to obsess over and this is ticking all the boxes for me so far
It is scandalous that we are getting only 2 packs for this events. The game is 1 month old, they just made millions and still are being as stingy as possible. Two freaking packs for a 2 week event. It is insane. They need to give at least pack a day.
I think all the events are fine. They are well paced with plenty of extra rewards aside from your daily missions and packs. The game is still new and with all the support they have received so far, I think the game is only going to evolve! Pun intended…. P.S. move that promo stamp to the bottom, it’s so ugly within the art!
I think many are being overly hateful over this event. For 3 stamina, you can - 20% to get an EX (500 PP) - 40% to get a 3-Diamond (150 PP) - 40% to get a 2-Diamond (70 PP) Meanwhile, for the usual WP, 3 stamina can give you - 20% to get the EX (500 PP) - 20% to get either 2-Diamond or 3-Diamond (70/150 PP) - 60% to get a 1-Diamond (35 PP) Moltres and Charizard not meta? I am here to collect and still don't have a playset each. Should it be cheaper at 2 Stamina? Perhaps
Only ppl not getting Lapras last time couldn't beat the harder event. I got at least 7 copies in 3 days. In fact every card from the event I was able to get all the flairs for the event cards
I think my favorite event by far has to be the lapras event, not only was it more engaging but you also got hourglasses which they really need to find a way for players to earn more if they wanna keep our interests in check. cool cards and cool concept overall. Also 2 dragonite dances? you're spoiling us
If the Arcanine event is just the whole wonderpick thing; then its honestly underwhelming. At least we had card sleeves and stuff to collect for the meowth event and the promo cards were not bad for the lapras event. This time is just plain
Venu is my favorite starter and ngl the standard EX cards look dumb imo. They just look weird particularly coming out of the card, especially when you hold it next to a full or alt art. And i think Venu particularly looks bad too, did him dirty. Im so happy for the new alt art coming but it rare to see people running venu normal in venu decks unlike regular mewtwo or occasionally regular charizard. Im curious if its just as viable to actually use the card.
People are complaining the Blaine event sucks, but it's actually more so to help people be able to build a deck for the next event without spending money.
I think the wonder pick is always good when there is an event. I think Lapras was good because it was play at your pace event. Only problem were drop rates. Took me 47 packs to get 2 Lapras

Whoa, advanced only had 80% pack chance? Once I got all the missions for expert, I grinded out the rest of the event in Advanced and don't remember ever not getting a pack. That's scary...I bet I burned out all my luck with that event! 😭
I've liked all the events, the Lapras drop the most. But my biggest complaint is the gap between doing stuff. I'd like a more proactive event going on consistently (which I totally get it creates FOMO and can turn people off). I'm a little concerned with the drop events having special cards (Lapras EX, Mankey, Jigglypuff) because even though I'll definitely get them, the new player experience is hurt further down the line. We haven't seen what happens when new sets drop, but I hope they incorporate a way for people to get promo cards later on.

Lapras event was the best, meowth, then fire outbreak lastly pvp. I was missing 2 moltres, 1 arcanine EX, 2 growlithes, 2 charizards, 2 blaines, after a few days of event I´m only missing 2 charizards and 1 blaine.
I know the new jigglypuff is going to hit in a wigglytuff ex deck, but I wonder if the new haunter is going to be worth it. 10 less health for 20 more damage seems cool but that changes the math on a few matchups
Lapras was probably the best. A lot of quests to complete, promo packs, and a ton of other freebies. Did I almost pull my hair out after opening 5 Clefairy in a row? Maybe, but I did end up getting two all said and done. Plus when trading comes out, and if they let us trade those promos, then I'm sure people will be able to get a hold of one or two from the people who pulled a ton 😂 (Shoutout to my wife who pulled 4, and my buddy who pulled 5 😒)
Yeah I've opened a ton of Charizad packs yet the 1 Greninja i have was a consolation prize from a wonder pick. Overall I can't complain about my luck as ive been able to get all the cards (plus dupes) for pretty much every meta deck in the ga.e so far (except Starmie EX, can't open one of them to save my life). However my lucks also been weird where I'm still missing even a single copy of a few 1 and 2 diamond cards. I finally got a 2nd Vulpix from the current wonder pick event (and again Charizad has probably been my most opened packs as I got all the good Mewtwo and Pikachu cards pretty early so ive been focusing on Charizad packs).
So happy I grinded that lapras event, I have some nice flairs for my two. I think I pulled about 6 to 8 of them. I got LUCKY to say in the least. The one card I didnt get was clafairy. :(
Ngl you should have saved the dupes jic trading allows EXs (I think they will as they're needed to make most decks so I think they'll just exclude 1 and 2 star cards, immersives and crown rares from trading). Tneres a good chance therell be a lot of newer players who missed the lapras event when trading comes in January so extra Lapras EXs may have come in handy.
I got in my Gifts section 3 packs of Solo battle rewards from the Lapras drop event unopened. They will expire in 22-23 days. Just experimenting if they could tradable soon! >o

I finished this mission today by pulling the full art Arcanine EX from a pack!

I think so. This Jigglypuff by itself seems really good. It's kind of like Misty flipping for how many turns you can stall the game.

I think the wild event wouldn’t be bad if they add an alt art, and if they do it for all trainers it took me over 1000 cards to get 2 blains.
So sad that the Venu won't be super playable so I won't see the card that often, but glad to add it to my collection soon
