      Marco H. There was a game I played as a little kid for the original Xbox called Ghost recon 2 final assault if you played split screen you can play as a German sniper that had fleck tarn camo I was hooked on it since I was a kid and still am it's a preferred camo over any us camo out today by far the coolest and most effective no one talks about how important Germany was during and after ww2 that paved the way for camo today

    Hi,
    Looking at the patterns in the woods I'd say Flecktarn did the best at breaking up your outline. Multi-cam is great for the grass, but too light for the trees. All in all Flecktarn did the best overall job.

    • @Glockster42
      @Glockster42  7 лет назад +6

      Pistol Pete Flecktarn is my favorite.

    • @hanburgundy4317
      @hanburgundy4317 6 лет назад +1

      All three have their unique effectiveness: Multicam works well in the grasses - a prone position is best, but isn't always a viable option when hunting - but it too bright against the dark green foliage when crouching or standing. Flecktarn works best in the trees, but sticks out when in the open against the grasses. A-TACS FG works well all around and could be used in either the trees or the grass, but isn't as effective in either specifically as FG or Multicam. How you're going to be hunting (tree stand/ground blind/spot and stalk) should decide which pattern works best. I'd choose the Fleck for your environment, but keep to the shadows or by the treeline.

    • @ryaniam22
      @ryaniam22 2 года назад

      I agree. Multicam is good if lying in the grass but if on the move is so bright it draws your eye to it. And the others are decent if lying in tall grass anyways because.....well the grass covers them

    The multi cam looked good against the grass but sucked in the trees. The A-tacks looked good in the trees and even looked somewhat better with the grass. The Flecktarn looked great with the trees but didn't quite do it with the grass. I'd go with the A-tacs.

    First, congrats on the weight loss, happy for ya....the camo comparison was on contest at ALL!!! That Flecktarn is AMAZING!!! A complete suit from head to toe, including mask covering, you would simply disappear into your surroundings....yet up close, it looks the least convincing, garish and hokey in a way, but man is it the most effective by far....Good luck with the Mulies and stay warm...

    I have to say, I am not a fan of multicam for conifer woods but if you had gone prone in that outfit you would have disappeared completely in the grass. Maybe I need to think again!
    Here in the UK I like flecktarn. It works well in both conifer plantation and our native woodland and it's cheap. If money was no object I would probably run Pencott Greenzone or CADPAT for spring/summer and a combination of coyote brown and desert DPM in the winter. The US woodland pattern is good too, better than our standard DPM I think. Thanks for the great video. I love camo comparisons (as you probably guessed).

    • @hanburgundy4317
      @hanburgundy4317 6 лет назад

      CADPAT is amazing in the summer/thick foliage; the only other patterns that come close are KLMK and Realtree's XTRA Green. Here in the U.S. (Indiana - midwest, next to Lake Michigan) we have mixed forests so the predominant colors are browns, greys, and tans with green mixed in; the most effective patterns here are the hunting patterns. I usually swear by Realtree but I just got a new coat from True Timber and it outperforms anything I've had before; had a doe walk up within ten feet of me (I was on the ground, relatively out in the open just standing there) and snuffle about for food for a few minutes before walking off and she never noticed me.

    For that terrain the Flecktarn was the best on you, pretty cool stuff. I like camo too and wear it for hiking, camping, range day and just bumming around. I'm a vet so had some Army Woodland camo clothes and gear, which I've added Army six color desert (Choc Chip). I also like to compliment with Carhartt or Walls work clothes, which is pretty close to the coyote brown everybody is so crazy about now. These all work great and cheap like you say. Get yourself a good stand/blind and then just sit damned still til the game comes to you.

    For woodland, no. 1 is Flecktarn, followed by A-Tacs FG and Multicam.

    To me at least, they all did well when the foliage was in front of them. The Multicam stood out big time when standing by itself. The A Tacs was "slightly" better standing alone but the Flectarn surprised me at how well it did either way. Not at all what I expected, however.

  • @jimf1964

    To be fair, the first two, wether good or bad, were just too light. They have more of a forest pattern, that would be much better. I do actually like the flecktarn also though, and have just purchased a pair of military surplus pants, and scarf. But I think I'm going to go back to the old school woodland camouflage. With big blobby patterns and high contrast pattern, I think it really breaks up the image of a body.

  • @MilitiauScom
    @MilitiauScom 6 лет назад

    Flectarn is a good pine forest pattern. The FG is very versatile and somwhat effective, but the multicam is like a light bulb out in the pines.

    • @ryaniam22
      @ryaniam22 2 года назад

      Ya it's weird cause looking at a still shot of the environment and the camo you might say the multicam matches the majority of the environment better. However that majority of the is grass on the ground so unless you crawl everywhere once you stand up you stand out more than ever.

    The American stuff tends to be better for the American midwest: a little more arid. I have a few Russian patterns that I think are more suitable for Canadian woodland. One in particular, Izlom (Skol), looks a lot like Flektarn, but with more tan and a lighter green. It is amazing in light shrub and anywhere there's a bit of dappled shade. I also find Russian stuff to be cheap, but not cheaply made.

Gore Tex Parka for round about 20DM to 25DM (winterinlays +15DM). Pants for 10DM to 15DM... Fieldjackets for 15DM to 20DM... For NEW clothes double or tripple the price... But the EURO make these clothes expensive... 1998 a lot Troops of the German Infantry was wearing the last stonegrey Uniforms. I was Soldier and have buyed so many stuff... and 1 DM is 0,5€... I always thought flecktarn was a little too dark. At a distance you would turn into a black dot and you’d be toast. But up close, especially when it is raining and darker. It is rivaled only by the camouflage that was made for my area. American woodland. The best I’ve ever seen though, isn’t military. Predator camouflage has defeated them all.

    • @hanburgundy4317
      @hanburgundy4317 6 лет назад

      This is a misconception. Deer (and dogs and most four-legged animals) do not see in black and white; they have dichromatic vision, meaning that they only posses two cones to perceive the color spectrum through while humans have trichromatic vision e.g. we have three cones. Humans see the color spectrum through RED, YELLOW, and BLUE. Deer don't possess the Red cone and so cannot see shades within that spectrum, which is why orange camouflage is invisible to them but sticks out like a sore thumb to us.
