    Reporter being disrespectful in calling his name unresearched, the time is amazing, the finish is fare for years this man performed at top ranks, while working a job! I hate when reporters act lousy on their behalf, I'd fire his ass.

    This interpreter is adding his own words. Yuichi never said thank you Boston. He keeps decorating the winner’s comments.

      But I'm sure that's what Yuichi means for sure.

      Yeah being Japanese I’m sure he just forgot to add that comment! You can tell by the way he talks he said Boston crowd was the best.

      In his defence the interviewers questions were so leading as to almost force it on him. I hate when interviewers do that.

      @@iissss9847 No doubt. I am sure he is grateful. It's just that an interpreter's job is to translate and shouldn't be interjecting his own opinions.

      It was hilarious how Yuki just said a few words in Japanese at 0:53 and the translator then spoke two long sentences in English

    If you watched the marathon start to finish you would have caught the commentators ridiculing Kawauichi as he sprinted ahead of the pack at the start. They laughed insinuating that he was doing this crazy thing to be on camera. Then finally this comment..."At 5 or 10 km someone will hand this gentleman a piano to carry" There was a clip of this whole gaffe on youtube with 25K views has disappeared and nowhere on the internet can it be found.

    • @hantor3342
      @hantor3342 6 лет назад +12

      Annette Martindale those comments would have being said if it were any other runner. I thought he took off too fast. Just something not done by any elite.

    • @barefootbeachrunner9498
      @barefootbeachrunner9498 3 года назад +15

      Its still available on you tube
      I watched a 24 min condensed version this morning and heard those comments
      I really dont think they were being disrespectfull
      They were just amazed that someone anyone would take off at that pace in those conditions
      It was strange though that they didnt know who he was
      He's not exactly an unknown
      He's probably one of the most well known Japanese elite runners in the world

      The spelling yes. The pronunciation is something everyone must have some grace with when you are living in a diverse society. Remember your in American Indian land and no one even knows what tribes land your in let alone how to pronounce it.
