voxextremos22 Pure reason revolution just released a new album too. Also, gazpacho and airbag should both have stuff coming out this year too. The rest of the world may be shit right now, but the prog music is on point.
Crackbreaker haken is absolutely amazing, but I get they arent for everyone. Airbag is very pink floydish, gazpacho is dark melancholy music. Katatonia is also melancholy but doomy metal style. Pure reason revolution is a lot of great music and has both a female and male singer. All good stuff, all different, all beautiful.
That's very true, and don't @ me if you don't like the singer, this guy is a rockstar I wouldn't see him doing anything else than this. He definitely is talented and has charisma. Absolutely love this band 🤟
I saw in an interview that he doesn't use pitch correcting at all in this album and on In Contact. He has an amazing voice. My favorite vocalist in the whole prog genre for sure. If you haven't, you should check out the video "Jim Grey Isolated Vocals" as it really showcases the subtle harmonies that sometimes get lost in the whole picture.
@@MrAtrandom Wow that's really cool to hear. Many artists use it and it's understandable as the album needs to be good, but hearing that he doesn't use it just gives him more credibility for me. Such a good band of musicians.
IMO one of the very best, second only to BTBAM. Never could get into Haken as much, even though they're always super solid and I love many of their tracks. Think I listened to Dream Theater too much as a kid lol
@@DREADDWELLER Dream Theater Portnoy era is the GOAT for me - BTBAM is following very close thereafter with Opeth, Steven Wilson (marco, guthrie), Porcupine Tree and Haken in tow. All three of these new singles are contending for their top 10 best songs which makes me beyond hyped for this new album. Give Haken some time to click. The Architect is the song that got me really in to them. The mountain takes some time to digest but opens up to become one of the greatest prog albums ever made and oddly enough the crystallized EP is one of my top picks from them as well.
This band just keeps blowing me away. This is unreal. Like after the 3 releases I'm heavily anticipating the album now. This song is so good, its stupid.
The best song writing part is that the chorus almost sounds like it's going to be a let down compared to the verse, then that groove just carries it on and the melody brings it to a resolution with the groove and the guitar meets up it up with that glorious lick after it's prechorus lick. It's just fingerlicking good.

A good anthem for the Indo-European race at this point in time, we need to be patient and hold out until our time comes again. That time is coming very soon.
This is EPIC. I can barely fathom how they play the start- the pace and timing of those guitars and drum riffs at the beginning!!! WOW!!!! Great lyrics. This band is not like others. I saw them at the UNSW roundhouse last Saturday night. EPIC
