"Kikuidataki is the name of the smallest Bird in Japan and the World's smallest hummingbird of its kind. The native script is "King birds". Kikuidataki is characterized by its yellow crown crest. I strived to capture and imitate its movements through sonoristic and colouristic effects. In depicting the Japanese impression, the main melody was inspired and based on the Japanese melody "Itsuki no komuriuta" (Lullaby of Itsuki).
This piece is dedicated to my friend and inspirational guide Carlo Domeniconi". Marek Pasieczny (Pretoria, South Africa; May 2011)

With so much bad music assaulting us on a daily basis, it is wonderful to discover true talent. Thank you Marek for an oasis in a desert of noise.

Marek reminds me of Roscoe Jenkins(an awesome pianist). Simply because they both bring something new and wonderful to music, and mainly because of how much you can see their enjoyment of their work. The pure concentration just tells a whole story of it's own

    Dear Marek,
I should be getting used to your playing by now but the only thing I am getting used to is being amazed at every new video! In your hands the guitar becomes a magic garden full of sounds and colours - as I walk through this garden I am enchanted! Wonderful! Thanks to you and the little flitting Kikuidataki!

In free time i hear allways your wonderfull thoughts. This is soooo beautifull, great art. It is a speech above thoughts, directing to spheres of life at it is in its beauty and tragedy but mostly in its IT-IS. So wonderfull. I guess you ve gone far ways to write something like this ;-) Best wishes!!! And thanks for inspiration

My compliments Marek for this wonderful piece. It is not only an hommage to Carlo but above all an hommage to nature and especially to the hummingbird.
A fine introductional Glimpse resulting in a developing Flight. And for sure I like the low B (as you know I used a low B-flat in Matanga).

this piece is music and show mixed together
if you always play this way your concerts will be like rock performances
but there are a lot of musical suggestions
i need to hear it almost 20 times to understand them all
and even some more to feel them in the right way
thank you, you made my day!

In my humble opinion, this video would be much better if there were less cutting from one camera to another. It's not that I want to be negative, I'm just trying to help a little. I realize you want to create visual interest and excitement, but your performance itself is already very interesting and exciting, both visually and musically. All the rapid and gratuitous cutting distracts from that. I had to look away to follow the music. Reduce the cutting by half and you will have a better video.
