    Now here's someone who can really sing the blues....... something you don't hear much anymore. Thanks Music City Roots for airing this great blues performance by Parker Millsap in "You Gotta Move".

    Stunning talent here - and beautifully subtle support from the accompanists.
    I'm fortunate to have stumbled upon this one - by way his collaboration with The Devil Makes Three.

    I come here when l want to be astounded! This is simply amazing. Best version of the best ever song! The violin and double bass just make a fabulous song incredible, and the harp, guitar and vocal just make me want to live! I first heard this song on my Dads ' Stones album "Sticky Fingers," and from there l discovered The Blues, Gospel and Real Country music ( in Nottingham , UK , in the 70s!). This song lead me to Muddy a Waters, afraid McDowell, Howlin' Wolf, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Mississippi Sheiks, Jesus, Buddha, It is still my favourite song to play on my harmonica

      That's Fred McDowell and a bad auto correct spell check! Afraid McDowell, l ask you?! X

      Actually it's a great auto correct; Afraid McDowell-nobody be messing with him.....

      Jim Rauh Looking back l quite dig it too! That slightly nervous, looking over his shoulder Bluesman 'Afraid McDowell' 😎😬Ironically and portentously cool! Still one damn fine song.

      Agreed; this is the definitive version! A friend of mine who I forwarded this to listened to it (at first) w/out watching the vid.
      He was quite stunned when he learned it wasn't an old black gal busting a gut and it was young whippersnapper Millsap!!

    I saw Parker Millsap here in Vancouver with some friends and were amazed at his vocal chops, not to mention his guitar playing ability. When he did this song "You Gotta Move", the immediate unanimous response from all in our group was that he sounded like a dead ringer for a young Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin's heyday. An amazing performer all round, at the ripe old age of 23!

      Yea, a little bit there, Robert. and a little bit of a male counterpart of Bonnie Raitt.

    • @jimrauh3584
      @jimrauh3584 6 лет назад +1

      Counterpart to Bonnie?? Not even close; this is a growling, gutbucket singing style. Bonnie is smooth and funky. Not clear why you'd come up w/ Bonnie-completely different styles.

      I thought the same about his voice being like Robert Plant's voice. Whatever, he is fantastic. I gotta give kudos to the SongPop game I play because it turned me onto him and Tyler Childers.

    scenes where this song could be fitting in great -> Slaves who are working in the sun, Prisoners who are sitting in their cells or working in the sun and a officer with a horse and a shotgun guarding them. xD
