I think Jojo is gonna look like an inter any time C9 loses. The team is so passive from behind that he ends up being the only one trying anything which reflects on his KDA if it doesn't work.

2:00: Yes, Medic, Jensen in 2017 Summer was the best split Jensen ever had. He was robbed of MVP by the broadcast, which admitted to not giving Jensen Player of the Game awards because "Even though Jensen was the best player in the game, other players needed to step up in order for them to win". So, Bjergsen having 12 PotGs while Jensen only had 8 overpowered the MVP voting, causing Bjergsen to win MVP over Jensen.
That split you had players across the West proclaiming Jensen was the best Western mid going into Rift Rivals and people being excited to play against him.

The worst part about that split is that Bjergsen had a good all around team with fucking peak DL as his ADC. He didn't have to carry anything and was playing Galio a lot of the time, clearly not hard carrying. Meanwhile Jensen had great scorelines even in C9 losses while having very little allied jungle attention.

Question for the next one: should we make a bigger deal out of transfer windows in League - personally I find it really interesting to hear about the roster changes from split to split - couldn't we do more to build a stronger following for league if we publicised things like transfers more openly? (Thinking like UK Premier League Football type approach)

Jojo definitely played well and doesn’t deserve the criticism he’s getting. His team around him supposed to engage for him and create space and they did nothing. Jojo lanes well and you could tell he was really trying to win. He just didn’t have help having to engage alone because nautilus rumble and sejuani just don’t wanna press r on someone.

The last time we had a real chance at international tournaments was when we had G2 & Fnc pushing each other + they had own playstyles and strengths. Last year I saw a G2 without real competition stomping most of their early games in EU and if they couldnt get a big enough lead they just lost. They hired Duffman again this year to work on their midgame rotation and overall their mid to lategame but they completely forgot how to play early games. Idk I dont see a real team identity. All they do is play like LCK & LPL plays (but way worse) besides some shit like Reksai top, but overall there is not a scary strength about G2 for eastern teams because the west plays way too standart.
There isnt a roaming Caps, there are no weird splitpush playstyles etc etc. Ofc the meta still favours teamfights and drakes but you could be atleast somewhat creative like playing early for all 6 grubs so you can actually splitpush. ofc you have to get 1 or 2 drakes atleast to stop the enemy from stacking, but still you could do it. After Twisted Fate got his AD buffs I thought for sure will G2 do something creative with it... anyway..xD
Even before we had a strong G2 and Fnc there were years where teams like Origens or Misfits played insanely well because they did their own thing + eastern teams didnt knew how to play against these playstyles or champs. I cant remember when VIT was at worlds but even this team looked good because - again - they did their own thing.
Our western teams have to accept that standard league will not be the way to go unless we somehow get better practice (I doubt it). Eastern teams are just that much better at it because they have actual practice and G2 has to play against KC for example.

Idk what games these people watched. C9 won every lane every game but just fell apart mid game. Jensen in particular had bad laning phases, on really easy lane phase champs(Karma, Orianna, Hwei) requiring Inspired to sit in his pocket for 40% of lane phase so he didnt die.

Saying JoJo got gapped is disingenuous... you only have to watch the series to see that JoJo was in a mission of futility. He and Beserker were trying to win the game, whilst his team was running it/not trying to win. JoJo was literally having to engage fights on Yone because Sejuani refused to engage fights xD.

you guys talk about KC fans keep being fans even through bad performance as if that was somehow shocking or sad, but reality is in traditional sports like football, choosing a team is a much more cultural choice and your fandom is independent from the teams performance.
I am brazillian, I am a fan of a team called Fortaleza... we spent 3 years in the third division and we'd still fill the stadium in important games.
if you really think about, one of the main issues with esports team fandom is that the ties people have with the teams are too brittle.

Why not just record all the scrims and release all the ones that aren't insanely toxic on something like a 2 week delay then everyone wins. Teams get content, scrims have more accountability, fans get to watch scrims and no sensitive Tactical content gets released where it can affect the game

I'm sorry, but why are we critizicing Jojo when his team picks Rumble, Sejuani and Nautilus and they all 3 sit in mid not engaging for 2 minutes straight until Jojo loses patience and Yone ults in (and dies)? C9 just has no clue how to identify or play around their win conditions. Game 1 was a hard draft to play, it needed flanks from multiple people and they couldn't do that, but game 2 was the most basic cookie cutter front to back teamfight and they couldn't even engage first.
About the whole KC stuff, I don't know man, this team is just disfunctional as a whole. Saken and Targamas are just npcs that exist in every game bringing no value at all, Bo is mechanically insane and is really aggressive, but he has no follow up (mostly because follow up tends to come from mid and support and, as I just said, they are npcs). Upset can't do anything as long as his jungler goes in 1v5 and his mid and support are npcing. Cabo is the one player that genuinely showed improvement from the start of winter to now, but he went from the worst top laner in LEC to being a middle of the pack one. It's improvement for sure, but one mediocre (and I'm not using this word as in "bad", but rather as in "not stand out") player doesn't fix anything. They lost the only good thing they had in winter, which was they would sometimes get early game leads, but now they just lose early game too. Their drafts are genuinely awful, and their players don't do the drafts any favours when playing them. They have terrible communication, they have no game plan, are bad at executing, aren't coordinated, nothing. Cubby's suggestion of Irrelevant wouldn't fix anything, but I would like to see Bo play in SK with him and Nisqy, to have a really good top side core that can actually enable Bo to be the carry we know he can be. KC is kinda doomed for Summer because they need a full roster revamp, and it's financially impossible to do that right now

    • @PeoplePleaser578

This is one of the biggest differences between East and West - Mentality. We take breaks - They dont. We mess around in Scrims - They rarely do. We dont practice a lot - They practice all the time. There is a reason they are consistently better... because in the West players see running it in scrims and start laughing about it.

I think (I hope) they mean gapped more so by what the scoreline looked like at the end. Just looking at the stats, Jensen “gapped” Jojo. But in reality the whole team played against him to keep him down in all games. Even Bwipo and Inspired said it wasn’t Jojo’s fault but rather the rest of C9 couldn’t excel even when Fly put so many resources to keep Jojo down.
