Always good to get those little jobs done.
I always prefer fibre insulator and gaskets to an o-ring, less likely to distort the carb flange on tightening.

Nice bunch of projects Dean, we all have a bunch of small things that have to be done in order to get a project done. You did a fine job doing all of them. Your new video and audio are outstanding. You know me Dean, I probably would have just traced the heat insulator with a sharpie and cut it out. Yes, those vibrating sanders are insanely noisy. Outstanding work my friend.

Good to see you making some progress mate. Great fix for the steering stops. Looking forward to what the tank has lurking under the paint. Sounds like you're still busy elsewhere too........

That was a great video, enjoyed watching you make those bits. Sometimes it's easier just to attack paint with a wire wheel from the outset, I think. Also I found that caustic soda aka oven cleaner is a superb paint stripper.

My bench mounted grinder/wire wheel doesn't have the minerals for heavy paint removal. It would have been easier to do the fork leg if it was a bit more powerful. Best wishes, Dean.

@@retromechanicalengineer Get a cup wire wheel for an angle grinder. Takes paint off like there's no tomorrow and doesn't damage the base metal.
