Tenant Pulse on Affordable Warmth & Energy Efficiency 2024

This is the 4th year polling tenant on energy efficiency and renter attitudes to netzero.
National platform for Wales that enable tenants and renters to provide accounts of their experiences.
Key conclusions:
1) Achieving Net Zero housing will cost billions of pounds a year, but this money will be wasted if tenants are not using these new systems to their full potential and are instead looking to other heating solutions to reduce costs.
2) The adoption of smart meters and water butts showcased both strong interest and a touch of scepticism. Barriers such as installation difficulties, technical issues, and specific concerns emphasize the need for better support systems and clearer communication to overcome practical obstacles and health concerns.
3) There is a level of distrust from tenants about Net Zero and tenants do not feel that they will directly benefit from the installation of low carbon solutions.
4) Every tenant has different needs, communication styles, and ways of living in their homes, and unless each tenant is engaged, there will not be a Net Zero Wales.
