Spencer might be my favorite singer. I feel like he always chooses the absolute best thing to do at every given moment. The band is a talent powerhouse, but he might be my favorite. It can be hard to make progressive metal hit sometimes, but Spencer always makes it hit somehow.
From a vocal standpoint this song is insane! Coming from someone who can hit the notes but doesnt have good endurance, hell i cant get past the second verse! Kudos to spencer for being a fuckin badass vocalist!
guys... i've never experienced such a strange song. First i thought it was pretty good and then one of my fellow-periphery-fan-friend said it was running all time in a loop for him since he has eargasms. Then another one told me the same and after listening to it about 5-8 times I'm now sure THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS (IF NOT THE BEST)...of Periphery...of Progressive and any other Metal....and absolutely (by now and in my opinion) of any Song i ever listened to. I can't stop getting goosebumps and i definetly can't stop playing it all the time - 1.1.15 - GREAT EXPERIENCE!
I totally agree! I'm just starting to get into Periphery and I can't stop listening to this. I feel like I might have a hard time topping it with their other stuff haha. It's really the guitar work that gets me... it's awesome.
Like this? check out Crater by Earthside: Bjorn's voice ranges from gutteral to ethereal, it's a simply magical experience. (Watch ruclips.net/video/mKOlyFZLR2Q/видео.html .) That song, along with Out of Time by Skyharbor, are two tracks I listened to on repeat for weeks. Amazing songs. And hey, for dessert, try Concealing Fate by TesseracT... ruclips.net/video/NhIaxN5u6XY/видео.html
Relax my friend it's just the beginning. Just you opening your mind to music and accessing to new levels (if you wanna continue that way..) and discovering new styles and emotions. :).
Staring at the hourglass, my life, it feels like a machine Running with no direction Watching time as it draws a perception obscene From a resurrection Choking on reality, the walls of my insides, they bleed From the excess incisions Drawn and quartered by the monster who pulls on the strings From the core of me Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see What it is that is eating away at me Now the stars are the sun in my world They burn from the inside out Ice cold in the flames burning all around So blind to the beauty of sleep But it feels like the walls are melting, freezing into me Have I lost track of time? Yeah Why can't I feel the burn? Staring at the hourglass, my life, it feels like a machine Running with no direction Drawn and quartered by the monster who pulls on the strings In my resurrection Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see What it is that is eating away at me Now the stars are the sun in my world They burn from the inside out Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see What it is that is eating away at me Now the stars are the sun in my world They burn from the inside out (inside out) When the frustration makes a move The second hand will swallow you Tearing a hole inside I'm buried alive The smell of flesh is seeping into my range Thrashing, hoping for a better way The push, the pull It's tearing apart my will to thrive in the day Pins and needles jabbing into my veins On the verge of losing sanity The beast tears and I can't do a thing about it Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see What it is that is eating away at me Now the stars are the sun in my world They burn from the inside out Fuck me, I am dying for sleep What exactly is eating away at me? Now the stars are the sun in my world They burn from the inside out
+TheWuuuuh haha funny that you say that, that was exactly my thought after listening to the song for the first 20 seconds! Without that core stuff and with Corey's voice it would make a good Slipknot song haha. Maggots assemble...
Like partialy riff from this intro is similar to verse riff from Duality...but it's not a problem for me. I love that change from solo to vocals at 2:50 🤟
Had to return to this after hearing that god awful "radio rock friendly" version. This SO much better its amazing how a song can have very similar ideas but emerge dogshit when someone else arranges the parts.
Omega had more of that style, the two Juggernaut albums felt like they had different styles to them, but if you want more of the screams, i think you will quite like Omega =)
Very strange. You can't say that the new Periphery stuff is *bad* in any sense, but since "Clear" I (for myself) sense a certain lack of emotion and of the subtle ingenuities that got me hooked to the band. I mean... Spencer's singing is top notch on this one and so is the rest of the band, but somehow it doesn't leave me speechless the way i.e. PII did.
Sese R I agree completely! P1 and Icarus EP is what left me speechless "back in the day". ... But I don't find this bad, either. Just not quite what I have in mind when I think *Periphery*...
vladadragovic Funny thing about that is Juggernaut being what Misha and the founding members originally had in mind for the band. Which leaves us with the conclusion that Periphery does not equal Periphery.
Sese R I bet this kind of input by everybody and teamwork is what Misha and the rest had in mind... But I think they burned out their inspiration. I think we're looking at a Dream Theater syndrome here. :) There's a saying in my country: You can't re-invent hot water. :)
I really like the three new songs, but... They all sound so... Cool and Yeah and Wuuh... I don't get any emotions... The singer can use more "dissonant tones", if you know what I mean...
I wonder why the vocal is so underrated.
I think he's one of the coolest metal vocals.
Yes

IKR?? same here lol T_T
22 Basses.
0:58 one of the tastiest breakdowns ever
Being 22 years old when this song dropped made it infinitely cooler
This song changed my life
Main riff is nasty. Shout out to that filthy pinch harmonic at 3:30, as well.

Where is this Heisenberg yo?

Any periphery song is someones favorite for some time and then its something else then the first song again
Love this one, my fav Periphery chorus! Good job spencer!
Staring at the hourglass, my life, it feels like a machine
Running with no direction
Watching time as it draws a perception obscene
From a resurrection
Choking on reality, the walls of my insides, they bleed
From the excess incisions
Drawn and quartered by the monster who pulls on the strings
From the core of me
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
Ice cold in the flames burning all around
So blind to the beauty of sleep
But it feels like the walls are melting, freezing into me
Have I lost track of time? Yeah
Why can't I feel the burn?
Staring at the hourglass, my life, it feels like a machine
Running with no direction
Drawn and quartered by the monster who pulls on the strings
In my resurrection
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out (inside out)
When the frustration makes a move
The second hand will swallow you
Tearing a hole inside
I'm buried alive
The smell of flesh is seeping into my range
Thrashing, hoping for a better way
The push, the pull
It's tearing apart my will to thrive in the day
Pins and needles jabbing into my veins
On the verge of losing sanity
The beast tears and I can't do a thing about it
Whoa, yeah, I'm dying to see
What it is that is eating away at me
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
Fuck me, I am dying for sleep
What exactly is eating away at me?
Now the stars are the sun in my world
They burn from the inside out
I think it's "Now the stars are deciding my world".
Friggen drums tones mannnn. My goodness. This is my reference track.
despite being a prog metal band and When they do a metalcore song, they make sure it blows your mind out!
Love the bass drum pattern in the verses in this song, so tasty
i've listened to this song easily 8 times in a row, and the chorus is just so catchy that its now embedded in my mind....great song....
Song goes from ‘I can’t do Spencer’s voice it’s terrible’ to ‘I can’t do Spencer’s voice it’s incredible’ in a matter of seconds
the drums man the drums
The Intro Riff sounds very Slipknot like, funny because they had that Heretic Anthem Cover on the last album
+TheWuuuuh haha funny that you say that, that was exactly my thought after listening to the song for the first 20 seconds! Without that core stuff and with Corey's voice it would make a good Slipknot song haha. Maggots assemble...
To me intro sounds very Gojira.
@@raitiskigelis2363 Nah, maybe if it was faster

Glad I was introduced to this band, but for you fans saying their older stuff is heavier, I'll check out those as well.
If anyone craves badly for the bridge 2:10 🖤
Check out Monuments' I The Destroyer, literally their equivalent of this song.
THIS IS THE EEEEEEND
This song reminds me a lot of protest the hero
These guys should be millionaires
I couldn’t sleep tonight cause this awesome music!!!!>____
this is awesome
0:44 🤘🤘🤘

Which version are you talking about?
@@misterpoon3560 i hope not this one, because its awesome! ruclips.net/video/zkIdfLknwpo/видео.html&ab_channel=GeorgijKazanba
Still sounds good
i wish they'd bring back more screams, periphery1
even still this is good, got a like from me
Omega had more of that style, the two Juggernaut albums felt like they had different styles to them, but if you want more of the screams, i think you will quite like Omega =)
Bruh the singing is way better, and I know I’m late replying
@@kylewininger6824 well, i think he got enough screams on Hail Stan right now ;)
Are you dumb? The screams ruin the song. Only clean vocals would make Periphery more acceptable
i like dat
0:41
This sounds like it could be Linkin Park
This song is so much louder than the others kkk anyone else noticed?
😗 thunder.... 🐎

На 15 секунде можно было закончить этот шедевр
Еретик. Весь трек замечательный.

First! Love this
I came here from Neuro's strim
I really like the three new songs, but... They all sound so... Cool and Yeah and Wuuh...
I don't get any emotions... The singer can use more "dissonant tones", if you know what I mean...
I enjoy the music but the vocals dont do it for me
I try to like periphery, but those fucking vocals keep ruining everything.
I don't agree
the vocals are amazing
