You should beable to use a P.O. Box to apply for a loan. You should get a credit boost if you never take a government handout. Experian should be abolished your paying for credit instead of keeping a credit card payed off to earn credit. I hear these podcasts and monitor with disgust the public sectors lack of legal knowledge. They have no fear of litigation, being fired or relationships that are lead with untruths and lies aired . When I came to America I had no credit. A "loan shark" lent me the money to get the tools so I could start my small business. It was a life saver.

You're certainly not entirely wrong to say that, but not quite in the way you think.
I was a collector and host for a sports book and cardroom while I was in college. Later, I was a corporate, white collar bill collector for years, and dozens of these business were our clients. Now, I am an industry specific risk estimator for a several types of fraud.
So I feel I can safely say I understand the concept of risk pricing, both in small secured lending and generally.
So I do get what you are saying, and it is logic that has been used to justify small, secured loans for thousands of years, but I am not talking about secured lending "in principle" - I"m talking about the specific state of the US, check secured loan industry.
I cannot stress this enough, *actual loan sharks, bookies, and drug dealers I have known* have looked at commercial payday lending and gone "holy shit, these guys have some balls on them."
Literally the only risk you incur with a payday loan/check cashing center is not throttling your outgoing lendable reserves for the first 180 days and missing rent in month 4 or 5 because you've lent your petty cash too fast. It's an unfuckable, bulletproof business model, because you're holding highly collectable and/or criminally prosecutable checks as collateral.
From a pure P and L standpoint, moral questions tucked away, I'd rather open a check cashing center than sell cocaine. It's one of the safest lending systems on the market.
Lending risk is adjusted by figuring your lending volume, your true default volume (defaults - minus recoveries + cost of recovery) and subtracting that from volume booked * interest compounded - erosion from estimated payments toward that volume.
The return rate on held checks is 6%, which IS higher than the default rate on, say credit card volume, but the difference is in true default - the recovery rate on returned check face value is 70 percent, 3x what it is on credit card balances, and the recovery costs are very low, you can file your own small claims check recoveries pro se or get a great bulk rate from a collections agency.
The real, walk-away ROI on payday lending, after all operational costs, is around 40 points, and there's functionally no market cap - you can put one across the street from one that's 10 years old and both will thrive. That's a better real net than fast food, than a pawnbroker, marijuana you don't grow yourself, literally the kind of profit associate with hard drugs, but legal.
90+ percent of payday lending profit comes from a third of customers that take 5 or more loans a year, and most of the profit itself comes from those people paying fees that erode their principle at a glacial rate.
I'm glad you were able to use the service responsibly. Throughout my life, I've been able to use a number of perilous things responsibly - alcohol, drugs, and gambling are all things I'm happy I'm able to take or leave without addiction, that I think should be legal to market to adults in a free society.

You should beable to use a P.O. Box to apply for a loan. You should get a credit boost if you never take a government handout. Experian should be abolished your paying for credit instead of keeping a credit card payed off to earn credit. You shouldn’t have to put any expenses on the credit card for it to boost your credit cause you didn’t have to use it to get by. I’ve never taken government assistance there’s no reason my credit report should only be 8.

People can have an 800 or in the 700's excellent credit score, yet if like me, they pay all their insurance and bills through a credit card so all they pay is one bill....a loan will be almost impossible to get. Why...because credit card debt is too high. They just see that big chuck of debt on your V, AMEX, or MC and you are screwed. (Even though every month it's paid on time and your credit score is excellent)
