I was dying laughing at ur reactions to this film, it was hilarious, I hate this movie so much, lol...🤣 Have u gotten to watch The Legend of Korra yet?
Chainsaw Reacts What they should’ve done is instead of making a movie based on the first season they should’ve made a movie about Aang before he ran away. Growing up as a monk. And then ending with him making the ball around himself and Appa and ending there or maybe ending on the cliff hanger of waking up to Katara. Fleshing our Aangs story would’ve made it a much more forgiving task since there isn’t much to compare it too.

Also Aang is not lighthearted and funny but super somber. I heard the kid himself was quite a prankster on set but they told him to play the role serious and pensive.
Mark Cruz his name is aang dude it doesn’t matter about the asian language the people who wrote the show named him aang it’s as if someone called you m-āre-k cr- uh- z that’s not what your name is so what if it can be pronounced differently it’s not supposed to be
@Olivia Rogers The thing is even if it's accurate, they still should've gone with how the show pronounced it. It's like saying my name is pronounced La-leh-sa because it's accurate but my whole life, it's been La-lee-sa. That's how everyone I know and I myself have said it. The same basically applies here.
Olivia Rogers The show is steeped in Asian culture, but every single character except for Iroh speaks with an American accent. The creators of the show made the decision to have the names pronounced a certain way, the fact that the makers of the “film” just said “fuck that” is the most egregious part of this movie to me.
I found out the kids watched the movie without me when I went to put it on one day and my son said "please don't, I don't want it to ruin the show for you too" The boy was 6 at the time and I knew, at that moment, that his innocence had been lost. I never did watch the movie

I still can't believe my philosophy teacher made us watch this movie in class to introduce the topic of the philosophers who thought the world was based on 4 elements
Yes, but later he made up for it by making us read the philosophy of superheroes and the philosophy of terminator and making exams on relating philosophical ideologies to characters from Pixar shorts, he was a weird but cool teacher
Yeah there were some scenes that were deleted. One scene I remember they deleted was the group meeting the Kyoshi warriors I think Suki wasn't leading them it was just a group of them (Don't quote me on that)
I mean, at least some of the effects when the Avatar State kicks in look kinda cool... and the final battle shots of Aang using water bending to freeze enemies was cool too... but they totally ruined the earthbenders, and Iroh was literally the only firebender that could generate his own fire... like one of the AtLA episodes insinuated, the movie *was* bad, but at least some of the effects were decent...
Did he tell you the reason why the firebenders can't create their own fire? M.Night thought it was too op and unfair that everyone else needed their element present but not the fire nation. I remember hearing that and screaming "how the fuck did the take over the world with such a huge weakness!"
I never knew that actually otherwise I would’ve told him. I honestly thought that was just another inaccuracy but the fact it was known and done intentionally just makes it so much worse
The only good that came out of this, if anything is that we got the actress who played Yue in the movie to voice Asami in Korra. (They cut out the Kyoshi Warriors and the Fortune Teller, well his version of her. They're deleted scenes on the DVD. Not worth it though)
Oh gooood this movie was horrible.... I love avatar the last air bender the cartoon and the moment they said anng instead of the correct pronunciation I knew it would be horrible...
His Last Airbender review kind of has Korra spoilers, knowing him I doubt he’d want to react to other RUclipsr’s videos but especially that one because he’s only just started watching Korra.
And to think Shyamalan actually defends, to this day, still defends this absolute bunch of Appa shit. I'm just beyond relieved he didn't get within a stone's throw of Toph.
I do feel a *little* bad, Noah Ringer got a bad rap for this role. He was terrible as Ong, sure, but remember that Shyamalan also made Mark Wahlberg into a terrible actor, he made Mel Gibson into a terrible actor, even Bruce Willis barely escaped with being mediocre. All things considered, I thought Ringer was... one of the... better... parts of this movie... relatively speaking.
I agree, he’s not a bad actor really, he gives a fine performance in Cowboys and Aliens, he just wasn’t the right call for this. Again he was literally cast because he was good at karate, with no other credentials.
This is the best way to explain why I don’t watch any movies from M. Night Shyamalan ... he took a beloved story and made a huge artistic piece of Garbage. I even got told that I should watch this in 3D, bad call.
Still baffled at how an hour and half movie feels sooooooo much longer than a 20 episode Book 1. Could've saved yourself a lot of pain and heartache by just watching Nostalgia Critic's review of the movie.
I think it being inaccurate to the show isn’t a valid criticism of the film’s quality. I think the movie being really bad on it’s own merit is why it’s bad. If it wasn’t accurate, but was a quality movie this would be a different conversation.
I remember watching this in Nickelodeon years ago (in 2011-2012). The sizes and ages of the characters seem fine to me. I don’t know if you noticed but all of the fire nation main characters that were kids are actually significantly taller than the kids of the other nations. For example Azula is younger than Sokka but about the same height or a little taller and both Azula and Zuko are at least a whole head taller than Aang. It’s not that the actor playing Zuko is too old. He’s actually just right to match the look. Everyone’s the wrong race though. But Zuko is one of the tallest characters in the show besides Combustion man, Ozai, and Shin Fu. Plus I think the actors should be a little older than they characters they play. I’m sorry but I can’t see any 14 year old girl playing Azula. They have to at least be 18. She doesn’t have baby face like some of the other characters. Neither do Mae and Zuko and because Ty Lee is affiliated with then her actress can’t be too young either if they want her to seem like she still belongs to their age group. PS I’m mentioning characters no in the movie just because it will be relevant when Netflix releases the live action tv series remastered by the original creators in about a year. I think the kid does look like how I would imagine Aang if I took him straight out of the cartoon and made him real based on that alone. I also think they did good on whoever was casted for princess Yue.
The worst thing to me is the thing that doesn't annoy people: WHY IS AANG ABLE TO CONTROL THE AVATAR STATE BY THE END OF THE FIRST MOVIE??????? When in the show, even at the moment of his very last battle against Ozai, he's unable to control it!
I like almost anything i watch. So many things were wrong in this movie. Well everything but the thing that pissed me off the most were: - The names being pronounced wrong. The excuse was that they wanted to be accurate to how the names would sound on their cultures. How about, you know, being accurate to the source material instead? - Everything was told through exposition with zero emotions. The moment Aang is telling what happened when he ran away should've been the moment all his guilt and regrets hit him really hard. Have him be angry, sad, just make him actually feel something, instead of just blabbing out stuff and expect us to care. - The characters personalities. One of Aang's character traits is that he likes to have fun. It's his way of coping with (and sometimes avoiding) the responsibilities of being the Avatar. Sokka was completely unfunny and way too melodramatic in this version. Yes he was sometimes pessimistic but he expressed it as sarcasm. He was also smart and goofy. - It focused too much on Aang being the hero while the rest of Team Avatar was completely pointless. In the show Sokka was completely capable of holding his own against the fire nation, and he was the strategist. All of that is gone. But the most infuriating part about this is Katara. Not only was she completely useless in this movie but they completely removed the moments where she got to shine in the show. The speech she gave the Earthbenders was given to Aang, and the moment she held her own against Zuko was completely butchered. Katara was not just the girl character who happened to tag along with the boys. She was constantly learning, and was the heart of the team. She was the mother of the group, always there when they needed her, and once her waterbending powers started growing she even surpassed Aang, which is why she became his teacher. She also has freaking healing powers. Was that even mentioned in the movie? I don't even remember because of how useless she was portrayed as. The worst part about her character is that not once did I saw a woman who had to step up and take care of his family after suffering the loss of her mother, and at the end of the film I not once saw the woman who would become Aang's teacher. -The bending is awful. They portray it as a dance that takes forever to actually do something impressive. Sokka could probably knock someone out with his boomerang before they get to finish their move. Also the fire bending. The freaking fire bending. Fire comes from the breath, and the energy that comes from within you. But nope, now they need at least a candle as a source for their bending. Again, the excuse was that they didn't want to make the firebenders seem too unbalanced and OP. THAT'S THE POINT. THEY ARE OP. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE WINNING THE WAR. BECAUSE WATER AND EARTHBENDERS NEED A SOURCE BUT WITH FIRE YOU ARE THE SOURCE. Taking all that away from them makes them look like they shouldn't have even had the chance to start a war in the first place, because there aren't exactly many sources of fire unless you start one. Just stop them from setting something on fire and they're done for.
I think you confuse hating a movie for the sake of hating (aka looking for things to hate) and actually breaking it down and realizing what makes some of the directing and creative choices poor/distasteful. Personally, I didn’t think that your co-watcher being there helped the viewing experience at all because he kept instigating pessimism that, unfortunately as a viewer watching you react to this, felt more forced than natural. Don’t get me wrong! I’m one of those very people that was significantly disappointed by this movie, but I never had anyone whispering in my ear to help me hate the movie more than I original would have just watching by myself. I think in some ways, it’s a little unfair and it doesn’t garner a “raw” reaction from you while seeing the film for the first time. Just my 2 cents, otherwise I’m glad you got to stomach through and finish watching the Last Airbender! Haha
I'm torn on this. On one hand it would be better if you watched it alone without influence and on the other hand if you were alone maybe you would miss some of that juicy stuff that they fucked up in the movie.
The bending sucks. There’s 0% fighting style sync with their bending. It’s cringe worthy. It’s like they’re casting a spell. You don’t have to hambone before you pull out a knife. You just pull out the knife. I don’t know why they did this with bending
Now when I first watched it, I thought it was good. Second time watching... F**K NO. But honestly I wanted a sequel just to see how worst they could make it. Guess we'll never know and THANK GOD WE WON'T!!!
Chainsaw Reacts You have a stronger Will than me. I watched 5 minutes of it and turned it off... I didn’t want to see anymore... It didn’t have any redeeming qualities at all..

But why do they have to make it again!? I fear Netflix will ruin it again. How about a new Series about Avatar Wan? Thats a story I wanna watch. Unfortunately its again all about the name recognition they wanna cash in on.
Behind the scenes these kids seem so nice. Maybe if the production crew did their jobs properly they would get to shine a bit with their acting. Idk why they make aang whiney the entire movie he doesn't laugh a single time

Haha
Best response, and I agree. Would have been great without the spoiler next to him.
Aw why'd you do this to yourself, man? You were so happy and full of life, and then you had to get Shyamalan'd
shyamalandingdong.
ShawnDude82 it’s a right passage. All avatar fans must share in our anger of this movie
@The WerewolfF Rite*
@@thewerewolff7248 I think the best thing about this movie is that we won't get a book 2.
Toph remains pure.
ShawnDude82 Yeah. But I wouldn’t jinx it if I were you.
What is worse? Dragon Ball: Evolution or The Last Airbender?
The Last Airbender.
The Last Airbender is a very unintentionally hilarious movie and a wussy adaptation of an awesome animated series.
You really didn't need to suffer through that. Have you seen Firefly and react to that?
Why did you sit through this abomination?! It is the worst live action adaptation ever made
Tim i had to, to see how bad it truly was
Chainsaw Reacts You have a stronger Will than me. I watched 5 minutes of it and turned it off... I didn’t want to see anymore... It didn’t have any redeeming qualities at all..
A teacher made me watch this for a class, imagine that
Almost half an hour of expressing regret and disappointment. Don't worry, the Earth King has invited you ti Lake Laogai
I know allot of people hate this movie but I thought it was a lot better then people said it was but ofcourse no where close to as good as avatar and the legend of kora please let me know what you think
whos the other guy
That’s me, my name is Logan. Chainsaw and I have been working together on a lot of things for about 6 years now, I pop up on his channel from time to time and we do a podcast called Limited Issues.
Is that Ozai???!
I told you it's a great movie for a good laugh.
And yet this is not the worst adaptation I've watched. Dragon ball evolution, I'm talking about you.
death note netflix be like : hold my beer
lili ks Death Note is at least funny bad, Evolution is just bad
@@logandh2 yeah DB evolution wasn't funny one bit , i mean it made me angry .
In the Wikipedia, this was dubbed one of the worst movies in 2010 by year.
I think the title is well enough deserved.
The cartoon was better
Really? You don't fucking say?
Obviously.
But why do they have to make it again!? I fear Netflix will ruin it again. How about a new Series about Avatar Wan? Thats a story I wanna watch. Unfortunately its again all about the name recognition they wanna cash in on.
You should not have hurt yourself watching this
This movie is so bad that it makes the Percy Jackson movies look good
Thank god the legend of korra came out and saved this franchise
Watch Dragon ball Evolution. It’s worse.
React to everything great about Batman v Superman
You should react to the audience reactions the movie
Now you need to to react to Nostalgia Critic's review of this sad excuse of a movie. At least he'll make it somewhat entertaining for you
dude like why hate on the movie XD.. for me it was awesome. damn you guys are harsh
Have you not seen the show? Also these actors and actresses had no emotion in the whole movie. Its a terrible movie by itself, and as an adaptation
Hahahahahah...... this movie is shit, period.
Why did you hate yourselves?
oh no..
Hopefully the live action Avatar The Last Airbender Netflix series will improve over this BS Shamalan movie.
This outta be good.
Wait, how did this kid get the role?
CMDR JAY karate tournament lol
@@ChainsawReacts Wow 😂
Behind the scenes these kids seem so nice. Maybe if the production crew did their jobs properly they would get to shine a bit with their acting. Idk why they make aang whiney the entire movie he doesn't laugh a single time
He looks like Aang but they spoil his role
They grabbed a kid who is good at martial arts and told him to act, rather than grab a child actor and teach him martial arts.
Please react to avatar agni kai zuko vs azula live action by Re:Anime ,.it more better than this movie 😊
I liked this compared to the Ninjago movie. That is truly the worse adaptation.
