Aki san, it is such a heart warming video. Your video made me have teary eyes while nodding in agreement of those 7 things. Can definitely sense Aki's melancholy through the video. He's already so used to the more "relaxing" way of life in Malaysia. The part about "not making noises to disturb his neighbours in Japan" is very typical of the Japanese culture. While it's good to be civic minded and care about other people's feelings, I feel that the Japanese tend to "overdo" this to the extent that the Japanese themselves feel very subdued and stressed out by these societal norms.
Well said. Having lived in KL for a few years myself I truly agree with every word in this video. The first few years after returning to Holland I missed my malaysian life every day (except friday afternoon traffic). Almost like a broken heart. I also can't wait to finally go back!
I was born and raised in the UK to Malaysian parents, and spent many years living in a few countries including Malaysia and Japan. Aki reminds me of the wonderful things in life that we easily take for granted. It's people's kindness and warmth that really makes me think there is plenty of amazing things in the world.
In Malaysia, the Muslims are about to start their fasting month. If you come back now you'll get to enjoy all the delicacies of buka puasa (breaking fast). Can't wait for you to come back and present Malaysia with a different perspective. Malaysia welcomes you
I'm a Malaysian my whole life and now I started to fall in love with my country once again, gotta learn to appreciate and be grateful for everything around me.

No.7 hit me differently. I can't say for sure to say that Malaysian is the kindest or what so, but at least to the extend of my own experience as Malaysian is similar to yours, Aki. Growing up, there were so many occasion where my dad gave ride to stranger he just met on the side road. Even for myself as an adult now, whenever I saw someone have walking on the highway or have issue with their vehicle, at the very least I would stop to ask if anything I can help. I believe many people does not really pay attention to this because it just feel natural to do so.
I had a flat tire in a desolated place and immediately two people from the coffee shop helped me change my tire. I was so shocked and touched and they didn’t want to accept anything. After changing my tire they went back to drink their coffee. 🤣🤣

I have to mention that the hospitality i received from Japanese are the same too while i travelled in Niseko.
