Anyone crazy enough to want to live in the northern part of Sweden should get permanent residency! 😉
Of course I’m kidding, the northern part of Sweden is amazing but if you’re used to a busy city life, the quietness can be deafening. So being a bit crazy helps and you must love the wilderness and outdoor, plus being handy is often a plus as depending where you live you might have to fix much in your home yourself.
You’re most welcome to Sweden, Dani! Don’t forget to take your D-vitamin in the winter to compensate for the lack of sunlight!

Wonderful news for you, Dani! I do hope this means that you both can expect to get a permanent residence permit in not too long a time! Your videos have been fantastic to watch, and especially for me as a Swede, looking at our own nature with fresh - and professional - eyes. You find the real beauty in what we who have seen it all our lives may be find as trivial and self-evident.

Dani, great news about the residency extension for you both - hope the final decision goes your way too. They'd be crazy not to allow you to stay permanently with the work you do for their wildlife and as an ambassador for the beauty of their country, but I know that bureaucracy doesn't always follow common sense!

Addendum: Now that you have the automated bird camera from Netvue, I sincerely hope you will be able to catch a few glimpses of Eurasian nutcracker - Nucifraga caryocatactes. They should be around in your neck of the woods, and they are incredibly fun birds to watch.
Yes, and they are very beautiful in their molten chocolate color with white spots. Also perhaps nailing some lard on a tree to attract more birds including various woodpeckers.

Btw, the intro to this video - the first few minutes - was something of the most calming and beautiful I've seen for a long time. The combination of video, music and your written comments was a real pleasure to watch. It was as if the good news already had lifted you to a new level of videomaking.
It's interesting. I actually find her voiceover to be the calming part of the videos. The wildlife drew me to the channel a couple years ago. Her beautiful voice (I don't mean that in any sort of creepy way) combined with the wildlife is what keeps me coming back. I'm always in a good mood afterward.

Love the bird camera! I think it was last year or maybe the year before I started seeing ads here from a different startup company with a similarly featured device. Very clever! A great idea to create your own blind as well. What type of deer do you get there? We get mostly white tailed deer. I'm very fond of them. Once driving home late at night, the car in front of me ran over one and just left the scene. I quickly stopped to check on it and it was still alive. Having no way to help it, I just held it and spoke to it until it passed away in my arms. Luckily police stopped a few minutes later and pulled it from the road and promised to donate the meat. But I'll never forget that night, just me and the deer alone in the dark woods. It was a sad but precious moment. So very glad to hear you can stay without the constant worry at least for now. Looking forward to more images from your new blind! All my best to you and Juan!

Sadly the cam with the bird recognising feature is not for sale.
Only thing you can buy is the lite version that has in the small print that it can't recognise birds.

That's excellent news. I'm also from the UK but I live in America now. I was here here for 14 years as a permanent legal resident, but I became a citizen last year. It really makes a difference to your outlook and the way you think about your future.

Funny that you got your Tragopan hide just now. I got mine just before the weekend. I haven't tried it out outdoors yet though, you're one step ahead of me, but I'm really looking forward to it.
Also funny that you have a group of 3 deers revisiting you. The same for me, though they're all does, two of which I think are the product of the third one. Sometimes they simply like having food nearby so they lie down at the most 10 meters from the seeds, and after a while they go back to eating. There was a group of five with two bucks eating seeds here the other day and they might have been here at the most once before, but the group of three are really addictive to the seeds here.
