I remember the Tropicana fail because it looked like a generic brand. I vividly remember picking it up, thinking it was some generic knock off, and putting it back. I was so bewildered, thinking that my local store just stopped carrying Tropicana XD.
The Syfy rebrand failure reminds me of a sports TV network in Canada called Sportsnet. They took out the “rugby player” symbol from their logo and that was their most visual identifier. Ever since, they haven’t had a very memorable brand.
i'm writting a report about syfy for a brand management class, and your video really helped me to see some aspects of this branding failure i definitely wouldn't have seen otherwise, thank you good sir, i won't forget to add the link to you video in the references :)
Thank you Rheem for your comment and I’m glad it helped I’m not sure I mentioned it in this video but it also struggles as an international translation as in Polish it is slang for STD’s!
Thanks for the feedback we’ll look to do a follow up with some of these in. This video focuses more on why these rebrands went wrong the issues that came from them and the strategic mismanagement of the process. This is harder to get across without the explanation.

That’s a great example of what they got wrong thank you for sharing. Yes they really didn’t think about the target audience.

@@ElementsBrandManagement yes i saw that during my research ^^ thank you have a good day :)
That look you give when you talk about SyFy 🤣. Wow, how did they get it so wrong!
Really interesting video. The Gap rebrand, which I don't remember, a reflection of how long it lasted, looks like it should be recruitment agency!
Thanks for your comment Perry. Gap was pretty bad and to roll it out without anyone knowing caused lots of issues!
Great content, subbed without hesitation!
Thanks Sean
this video is great- definitely a follow up would be great
Glad you liked the video and thank you 🙏🏻 for your comment and feedback. We’ll put this on the list to do a follow up.
This is video, we shouldn't see you but as much evidence and samples from the brand's stories
