Great to see Rob with the mechanics again. Keep well and safe. James.
As always, a very memorable video. I'm sorry for this mishap on your run. I love the Finn Updates. It is especially amusing to see how you, his proud parents, react to Finn's competitions with the naturally expected excitement, nervous tension and enthusiasm, while Finn is the perfect stoic, showing no emotion whatsoever. It is admirable behavior for the parents and the son/athlete. All the best of luck to Finn. By the way, Declan and Ivan were, as usual, remarkably engaging in this episode.

@@FBurck If I'm perfectly honest I think we jumped in to having another cat too soon. I love Mocha but at times she is terrifying. She gets what we call the 'zoom zooms' and look out anyone in her way.
Those bottom rubber boots are not soo critical Rob, certainly no reason to haul out for. On my last cat they came off soon after I launched and I sailed like that for a year. Yes a few scallops were in side but easy enough to get out when in the water or hauled out. I bought the recommended gorilla glue and re glued the new set I had and this started coming loose again when I sold the boat a few months later. On my new to me cat I never bothered to put them back on. On the new leopards they make a recess in the hull and use fibreglass halves screwed down and lagoon do much the same so those flaps coming loose is a common cat problem
That is good to hear. If you watched our earlier episode about the sail drive diaphragm replace we did antifoul the recess (it hadn't been anti fouled before) so hopefully that hold the growth at bay. We really don't want to haul out again so soon.
Yeah Rachel, as long as u can still work, dosn't really matter if ur injured and in pain😭 What's ur problem Rob, why didn't u go looking for her, u even said" I thought something went wrong" seriously. @@TheCruisingKiwis Terrific, love the skulls, my Grandfather John Erickson was an amazing rower in singles, doubles, he won several gold medals, I'm lucky because he gave them to me in his will. I know this will sound like a bad comment. But helmets only takes a second to put one on. Also only takes one false move to fall off. I put one on no matter how short the ride . And I've ridden bikes for over 30 years in that time I unfortunately have seen people without helmets have very serious accidents and more. Be safe we love your videos
I can't fault your logic. Helmets would be great unfortunately in many of the places we have hired motor bikes, here in SE Asia helmets just aren't part of the deal. Very few people wore helmets here and we don't own any, but maybe we should.
Great Finn is giving it a crack ! Was this place where Riley was attacked by Monkeys?? I know you are all Adventurous but Riley came off second best and had to have shots to counteract the known toxins that these animals carry. Take care and be safe for gods sake 😮
No this was at Tioman Island east Malaysia coast. We did visit Monkey Bay though everal episodes ago and paid homage to Riley here ruclips.net/video/mOwi1WqNFPg/видео.htmlsi=tRRd4oeesacZrtrV
Plot twist! In the next episode, Finn gets chased by monkeys up the course of the A final, Declan and Ivan's spinoff serious 'kiwi boys' catches the attention of the Netflix film crew and gets picked up for 15 seasons, Rachel gets an Oscar for editing and cinematography and Rob's glue actually sticks. Can't wait!!
Sorry about your close call with the monkeys. QUESTION: If I were to stroll down a path in a wooded area here in north Mississippi, I’d likely pick up ticks, chiggers, red bugs, etc., on my legs - are there similar pests that try to attach themselves to you when you travel the jungle trails you often seem to roam?
When wild monkeys get used to tourists they become a bad bunch, we saw that in Bali too. We are releasing a mid week vlog to round up our time in Tioman and show Finn's nail biting A final. Not to be missed 🤩
Do Olympic athletes get paid to train? For those that don't already know, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) does not pay athletes a cent for their appearance in the Olympics. Athletes have their travel, lodging, and food covered, but they are 100% responsible Finn is taking donations; he has a trust we can donate too!
As a member of the national team he gets a living allowance which is less than the unemployment benefit so he works part time when able to. Finn has set up a buy me a coffee thingy but he is looking to revamp that.
Your own fear injured you. That is why i always use a walking stick or poles. It / they come in handy. Take care of that wrist and for God's sake; stay out of trouble or your nick name will be """" Rob""""", hahahahahahahahahaha Ttfn Jim
Was rooting for Finn all the way! I do hope he makes it to Paris. Here's the plan, Hamills: demast Javelot so you can motor on the Seine to Paris -- you can do daily updates and -- And! -- save on hotels! My ten cents. Go Finn. (Can't for anything call him Finley, an apt name for petty functionaries and minor assassins.) #TeamHamill.
Removing the mast and motoring up the Seine ain't a bad idea. The rowing venue is out to the east of Paris, we will have to see if we can reach Vaires-Sur-Maines by boat, it would save us a fortune. As luck would have it Finn is a Finlay not a Finley, very different. It's disappointing how one bad egg ruins a name for everyone.
Racheal, is that your clicking finger or your clickbaiting finger? It's not a good a good look and if you want traction on this platform I suggest you stop it. It's become quite noticeable lately.
I just watched for a second time. This is so good and i don't consider this clickbait. Was it a good video? Yes, Were there monkeys involved in Rachel's demise? Yes. What does it matter what's on the thumbnail if you enjoy the video you watched. If you didn't enjoy it the thumbnail isn't going to make the story any better. I think these guys do a great job, are vastly under subbed for the standard of videos they produce and could do with some more encouragement then what you're giving them.
We are growing at snails pace which, in our humble opinion, is not a good look! Especially if not even sustaining the current situation!! We are trying different approaches and using humour in a 'shaggy dog' story scenario - as this was - is worth a crack don't you think? Keep doing the same thing and you're going to get the same result. It's easy to sit back and criticise, but if you're the expert dispensing advice what would you do if you were us?
@@TheCruisingKiwis I'd stop with the clickbait for starters and changing the title after 12 or so hours. I say that about the title because it's annoying if I've already watched it and then click it again in a few days thinking I've not watched it. I'd also drop the scenes of Ivan doing his best Forest Gump impersonation or whatever that was. It adds nothing. Scenery, above and below water are your friends. Activities. I get that it's not easy for you guys and I hope this doesn't sound nasty as I'm not trying to be. I love you guys. Clickbaiting is dishonest. Not funny. I unsubbed RR2 and followtheboat because of it. Many won't but some will unsub. I have a lot on my plate for a few days but I'll try and have a think about what might get you more views and get back to you if you like. cheers.
@@victorbitter583 We are told (and it seems to be true) that thumbnails and titles (something that I'm really bad at coming up with ideas for) sell the video. After releasing a new vlog we watch the analytics in the first few hours and if the video is not doing well we may adjust the title or the thumbnail accordingly to try and improve the videos reach. You can put your blood sweat and tears into the edit but if your title and thumbnail don't attract an audience you're playing to an empty theatre. Recently YT restricted one of our videos (after it had been playing for two weeks) and, with no warning or reason given, changed another to unlisted, removing all the views and the comments as it did so. We desputed these actions but the restricted one is still restricted and there was nothing that could be done to save the views or comments on the second video but we could put it back to public, which we did. We assumed the video would just slot in where it was but it was released as if it was a new video. This may be one (about the floating soccer pitch) that you took issue with? This week the original video slotted back into it's position with all the comments and views reattached??? So bizarre. On another note for every person who asks us for longer videos there will be another who would like them shorter. We get asked for more under water photography, less underwater, Ivan's so funny I could watch him all day, cut Ivan's antics out, love the clickbait go for it, what's with the clickbait? I do appreciate your offer of help and look forward to hearing your ideas we consider all advice we are given.
@@TheCruisingKiwis HAHA, I was explaining to my new "Lady", why it was imperative I get on my PC to see RUclips and watch the Cruising Kiwi's. That is good to hear. If you watched our earlier episode about the sail drive diaphragm replace we did antifoul the recess (it hadn't been anti fouled before) so hopefully that hold the growth at bay. We really don't want to haul out again so soon.
Ivan was looking for a future Job? Natural Comedian...Make me laugh every time!!!
Yes Ivan has a very quick wit, all the boys have. They make great travelling companions🤩
Nice work Finn. (We were a high school rowing family for a few seasons). 6.59 eh... I think I managed a sub 10 minute erg ... once!
Thanks Craig. Keep and eye out for our next episode due out mid week for the final. It's a dousy.

Yeah Rachel, as long as u can still work, dosn't really matter if ur injured and in pain😭 What's ur problem Rob, why didn't u go looking for her, u even said" I thought something went wrong" seriously. Glad Fin did really well, bravo mate. 🇳🇿 hope puss is well, she looks like she is enjoying her new loving family. 🐈 Well uv got both ur big strong boys with u Rachel, so get them to help you, which I'm sure the would anyway. Really enjoy the channel, please please take care when ur own ur own all of u. 🇦🇺🌈👍
Rob was just joking when he asked could I still work, we always try to make light of serious circumstances. I'm sure he would have sent out a search party had a I been much longer. It's not unknown for me to be enjoying my run and go a bit further at times. Thank you for taking an interest in Finns rowing. If you are interested to see how Finn's final pans out we are doing an extra vlog mid week to round up our time in Tionman and show the nail biting action that took place during Finn's race. Not to be missed 🤩
@@TheCruisingKiwis Terrific, love the skulls, my Grandfather John Erickson was an amazing rower in singles, doubles, he won several gold medals, I'm lucky because he gave them to me in his will. I thought they have signs everywhere saying don't feed the monkeys? This is the reason. It could of been worse, I'm glad you're ok.
They do have signs but this was a local feeding them, what ya gonna do?
⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵
Wow, those monkeys. I'm staying in South Africa at the moment and here, it's the same. So, so many. Too many.
They can be rather captivating then the next minute terrifying huh
I know this will sound like a bad comment. But helmets only takes a second to put one on. Also only takes one false move to fall off. I put one on no matter how short the ride . And I've ridden bikes for over 30 years in that time I unfortunately have seen people without helmets have very serious accidents and more. Be safe we love your videos
I can't fault your logic. Helmets would be great unfortunately in many of the places we have hired motor bikes, here in SE Asia helmets just aren't part of the deal. Very few people wore helmets here and we don't own any, but maybe we should.
Go Finn Go Faster Faster Faster!
Yeah baby yeah!
YEAH
My Swiss FB friend Martin Wildi ( met in New Zealand 22 years ago) s still globetrotting. TIOMAN ISLAND is his favourite island
Tioman is beautiful, the people are friendly and for now they have a lovely balance between opening to tourism and keeping their culture intact.
*love the savage monkey clickbait.* i would have gone more savage tho. do you know Shakma? yeah. _JC
Thanks JC, no don't know who shakma is. So who is he/she?
Go Fin!
Thanks Kid!
@@TheCruisingKiwis that right, forgot about that episode, take care and we enjoy your travels here in Noosa
Everything was plausible until you mentioned Rob's repairs actually working :-)
Never mind the monkeys what about that HUGE scary ant! 3:50
You're right it was gigantic. Luckily there was only one, I wouldn't have wanted to see an army of ants that size.
Thanks Robin, can't say we've ever had any problems like that here.
If you ever go to Gib stay away from the monkeys there. Give my congrats to Fin hope he does well in the final.
Athletes have their travel, lodging, and food covered, but they are 100% responsible
Finn is taking donations; he has a trust we can donate too!
As a member of the national team he gets a living allowance which is less than the unemployment benefit so he works part time when able to. Finn has set up a buy me a coffee thingy but he is looking to revamp that.
Go Fin!!
Yeah baby yeah!
You Kiwis have funny accents. That show is called Mohel. I Wouldn't swim through that boat if I were you boys.

Your own fear injured you. That is why i always use a walking stick or poles. It / they come in handy. Take care of that wrist and for God's sake; stay out of trouble or your nick name will be """" Rob""""", hahahahahahahahahaha Ttfn Jim
Can't afford Rachel being out of action due to the wrist Jim 😉
@@TheCruisingKiwis #TeamHamill
If you got bitten by the monkeys I think you need to get a rabies shot. It happened to a couple from sailing vagabond.
Thanks Margaret yeah fortunately it was a shaggy dog story that I thought was funny when Rachel told me - as in the video - so all good.
Your problem with the monkeys is they lack discipline, I spank my monkey all the time and it does not give me any trouble.
Naughty!
:)
Cheers Jon!
