  • There really is a vintage Carousel on the National Mall, and for just $3.50 you can ride it any day.

I suppose that is probably true, that we all miss portions of our childhood from time to time. We do occasionally throw adulthood to the wind and just play. It can be very refreshing. Thanks so much.

You really should Evan. I enjoyed it, as did Bev. There is no age restriction, and it's just fun.

It was a blast! Back in the day Bev and I were annual pass holders for Disney, and so we went quite often, and we almost invariably rode the carousel. It's fun, and it's easy.

Glad you got a chance to visit before moving back to Michigan. With how much you get around and see that was a long wait for Bev! Good to see how happy she way, nothing like a bit of joie de vivre. Hope you find another one to try out soon Bev! xx

It is interesting that there are some things that you TRY and make the time for, try and make the effort for, but still just don't work out again and again, until of course they FINALLY do. This was one of those things. The government Printing Office is another one, and we STILL haven't gotten to visit/tour that! I guess on the up side is that life is very full, and we are essentially never bored.

Do you regret not riding it before? I know I always said we were waiting until our kids were old enough to appreciate Disney World before we took them. Then I totally regretted not taking them years before that.

Regret? Not sure if that is the sensation. I wish things had worked out better for us at times, and I hope that we will have more opportunities eventually. But I suppose I accept that there are finite time, resources, energy, opportunities and cooperative weather. The delay was not necessarily by choice so much as by chance. But I get what you're saying, and I do try and embrace the moment as much as humanly possible.

Yes it really was. I wish I could have gotten to doing it sooner, and will again when we get the chance.
