Assalamualaikum Dr. Arshiya this side. I am glad that I found your channel on RUclips. Your clarity in the topics and the way you explain is commendable. Keep up the great work Dr. Waqas 👍
Exactly, I was thinking the same.Apart from that factual inaccuracy I think everything else was right. Glucose uptake in brain is through glut 1 and 3 receptors which are insulin independent.Hence I think that the brain wouldn't be ordering the liver to produce ketones, rather insulin deficiency such as in T1DM combined with lack of energy substrate in peripheral organs would stimulate the liver to produce ketone bodies. Do correct me if wrong. However the brain does require insulin for Glucose metabolism and for satiety/hunger mechanisms. Great video regardless.
That’s too great teaching of u sir… going through all ur videos really helping me alott… requesting u to post video on management of different types of anemia
nice presentation, very well explained. But do we give 0.9% or 0.45% saline. This is HHS and its a hyperosmolar state, so hypotonic saline might be better
What we have been studying in basic sciences that insulin is not need to transport glucose into the brain. Actually this is not so simple. There are many insulin sensitive receptors present in the brain. Whole glucose metabolism is disturbed in the absence of glucose. Remember this area is still under research and there are many more new things yet to come that might actually defy our older concepts. Thank you for asking 😊
Perfect example of a very good teacher and great Doctor.
Dr.Waqas keep it up .
thank you

Brain cell don't depend on insuline they receive glucose through glut 4 receptor which are no dependent on insuline same like in RBCs ?

Aren’t glucose transporters In brain cell insulin-independent?

It is better to use muscle cells as an example rather than to use brain cells
