I created a solid that I merged together out of a number of different elements, and I'm trying to remove 0.3" of material right in the middle. I can create the gap with both splitting and the boolean subtract, but no matter what I do the top and bottom portions are still grouped and I can't slide the top down onto the bottom. I'm mostly just trying to cut down a 20 hour print by removing some unnecessary materials.

Well, not 5 minutes after I posted this question did I stumble upon the answer. Under the "Combine" options I clicked Separate (Shift+P) and I was able to move them independently. I'm using 123D Design 2.1.11. And all it did was separate the two parts that were no longer touching, didn't "explode" the entire solid. Thanks again for this wonderful series of walk throughs. Although if I may make one tiny suggestion, add into the titles exactly which processes you demonstrate in the video. It'll make searching for it much easier.

I would like to know why the "camera" doesn't work. I had a little luck with the "camera but the copied picture flashed on and off. How do I get the "camera" to work. Need help.

    Help!
    Hi, there.
I have a problem with my 123D Design software. One day, it just refused to open. When I click its icon, the prompt screen appears, but then it just disappears and nothing opens up!
I even uninstalled and then reinstalled the program. But still, it just doesn't open anymore. What can I do to resolve this issue? Thanks for any suggestions. E.

Maybe your file is corrupted. I suggest downloading it on another software, copying it on a usb, and reinstalling it on your main software from the usb.
