When I first studied the Bible with a Christian I heard many bold claims and I had many questions and every answer came from the Bible and the answer was always harmonious with the scriptures. that was over 35 years ago and. I am so thankful for the good and honest man who told me the truth. He had no agenda except my salvation. My motivation is the same to seek and save the lost. The Church of Christ is the Church of Christ!
is your church service on the sabbath . the 7th day of the week. if not you may be being deceived .few who find it very few. Sunday worship the first day of the week is under Satan's authority who changed the sabbath to his day of worship
@@markmurphy7211* is your church service on the Sabbath. * Did Jesus's ministry only take place on the Sabbath? Are we called to keep the Sabbath day Holy now or are we called to deny self take up our cross daily and follow Jesus? If you are seeking first the kingdom of God every day... then you are keeping God's law. * if not you may be being deceived * And if you think the balance of God's will is to keep one day Holy then you maybe are being deceived. * Sunday worship the first day of the week is under Satan's authority * Under the direct knowledge of the Apostles the New Testament believers met to break bread (and take up a collection when necessary) every first day of the week. I suspect it was done this way to free up the Apostles and Evangelists to proselytize the Jews meeting on the Sabbath. Jesus' own attitude toward those who created of Sabbath-keeping an Idolization... that they were ignoring matters that were far more important just to seek to be justified by this one ordinance. Should people starve watching the birds eat up the gleaning portion because it is the sabbath day? The Sabbath was created for man and not man for the Sabbath. * who changed the sabbath to his day of worship * You are making a statement that someone else surmised but it did not come from scripture.
@@markmurphy7211 * Sunday worship is the mark of the popes authority over the word of God * Read what I posted. Meeting every first day of the week is scriptural.
Another point should be made as well. Christ was resurrected on the 1st day of the week. To my understanding this is why it is called the Lord's day. Some English versions of the Bible honor God the Father (LORD) and Jesus (Lord) and examples in the Old Covenant such as Sarah calling Abraham lord. So the Lord's day Sunday is because God the Father raised His only begotten son on Sunday it actually is God the Father we worship on Sunday because the task God the Father had given to Jesus had been completed. This has nothing to do with the Roman Catholics claiming a change. The Sabbath is still on Saturday the 7th day. Those who study the scriptures know this. Those who make comments about changes of the Sabbath are following unfounded doctrines of men, be careful. The Bible sternly warns about following the doctrines of man.
It's obvious Trey is a 5 point calvinist (tulip) and I would like to encourage anybody who is part of the reformed church to find them a church of Christ near them! Awesome job Don & Aaron!
No!!! They are bass-awkwards… 1) they think you can loose your salvation 2)They think you have to be baptized in order to be saved. 3) they do not believe in “Original sin” 4) they believe that all people that do not believe as they do are damned ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED!!!
* No!!! They are bass-awkwards… * You can lose your salvation... like it or not... God is watching and judgment begins at the household of God. In the Old Testament... an entire nation in the process of being saved... lost their salvation because of their attitude during the process. They obeyed. Everywhere they were told to go they went. And as a result of that obedience scripture says they were baptized unto Moses in the sea with the clouds overhead... Yet... they failed to obtain the promise and it was because they provoked God by their unbelief. * They think you have to be baptized in order to be saved. * The process that makes New Covenant baptism effective is the process where everyone who is saved will be saved. That process is known as the eternal law of faith. From God's word directly from his chief messenger... he that believes and is baptized shall be saved. The ones who do not believe will be condemned. You are erroneously taught that it is enough to believe in Jesus superlative motive but Jesus marveled at the attitude of people who would claim his Lordship but deny his authority to command them.
@@kainable8769 * they do not believe in “Original sin” * Ezekiel 18 tells us that God does not hold innocent people guilty for the sins of others. It is the soul that sins that shall die. Read it. * they believe that all people that do not believe as they do are damned * The way to eternal life is narrow and not easy to find unless you are looking for it. If you think you have already found it... you should still be watching where you are going.
Wow...I am so familiar with these arguments. I was brought up in the CoC from the age of 2 weeks old. My Dad was an elder in the CoC for 30 years, and I was a full time minster in the CoC for over 25 years. Now in my 70s, I'm no longer a member of that faith movement. However, I still have many wonderful friends in the CoC. There is an old argument that a few churches like to use to prove their genuineness and authenticity. That is to trace their origins back to the first century. This is a favorite technique of the Catholic Church, the Church of England and the Church of Christ. Yet, historically, all these faith systems had a later starting point. There is no question for the honest searcher that the mainstream CoC of today had their beginnings in the 1800s. In fact when I was a little boy in the late 50s, I remember some CoC calling themselves Campbellites, which in that day and time was held in honor by some, not so much today however. Also, I knew in the late 50s as a little boy, that the church of Christ derived their plan of salvation from Walter Scott (restoration leader in the CoC), who had invented "The Five Finger Gospel," which was to "hear, believe, repent, confess and be baptized." He started with 7 points, but later narrowed it down to 5 points so it could be demonstrated on the fingers of one hand when preaching. And regarding the word, "denomination," it merely means, "a recognized autonomous branch of the Christian Church." Even though each CoC has some differences, in most regards the mainline CoC is the same in belief system, governing, and plan of salvation, so easily fit that definition. In addition, the "church of Christ," was never meant to be a title on a church building or letterhead, it was merely one description of the Lord's church. We also have such phrases in the New Testament as "Household of Faith," "Church of the First-Born," "the Way," "church of God," and so on. In fact, the phrase "church of God," is used more times than "churches of Christ," in the New Testament. I'm not going to take apart these arguments that are used to defend the CoC in this video, though I'm highly tempted to do so. I will swallow my pride and refrain from doing so. Plus, I know that any of my arguments, no matter how biblical and sound, will only fall on deaf ears...so what use would it be. People want to remain where they are regardless of what arguments they might hear. So let me just end on a positive note. The CoC is not a cult. It wasn't when I was growing up, and it wasn't when I was preaching for them. The only CoC that might be considered a cult is the International church of Christ. There are many wonderful believers in the CoC, who love the Lord and truly believe what they are preaching and teaching. I have great respect for them, even though we live in disagreement. There are two mottos that I have taken from the CoC that have followed and benefited me to this day. The one was said by Thomas Campbell in 1809 when he was a member of the Seceder Presbyterian Church before forming the CoC. He said, "Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent." The other motto was one I heard when growing up in the CoC, "Have a chapter and a verse for everything that you believe and teach." I have derived great blessings from these mottos even till this day in leading my path.
Good morning Martin Just finished reading your comment - are you no longer attending a COC - if so & you don't mind me asking where do you currently attend church. Myself like you have attended & am a member of the COC - I do feel & am struggling with the fact that they seem to be consumed with dying instead of living. I am to the point in life - I am 67 - where I need to be uplifted when attending church service - at this point I am happy that I went but feel more sadness in regards to the focus that is put on death & the here-after instead of living life in happiness and joy. I get it are actions now will be determine our life after death. It's just after Sunday service I feel sad & the thought of dieing whether it is myself or someone close to me is totally consuming my thoughts. I feel I need to be uplifted on Sunday morning with the sermon & leave with a smile on my face & feel bigger than life - I don't & think I'm going to die then what. Any ideas of comfort would be greatly appreciated. Kathy
@@kathyharris9387 thanks for your comment. I fellowship with a local home fellowship…just a few people, but closer to New Testament fellowship. Everyone is loving and supportive. Plus we can agree to disagree on many issues and still have fellowship, though we disagree on very little. You said that actions now will determine our life after death which makes it sound more complicated than it really is. John 5:24 has blessed me in many ways, maybe it will bless you too. Once we place our trust in Jesus, our eternal life has begun. John says that we can know that we’re saved (1 John 5), and that perfect love casts out fear. We won’t be perfect till we’re reunited with Christ,so don’t fret the small stuff. Just swim in His love for you and serve others. He’s on your side. He wants you to achieve and be happy. Remember, when you hear the man behind the pulpit, he’s only a man, with a certain agenda, his own personal bias and vision. This doesn’t make him right, or even the message you need right now. Just focus on God’s love and grace and on building others up.
Martin Thanks so much for your reply Your group sounds like what would be a fit for me - growing up when visiting my grandparents they attended church at a small church in the country - I guess maybe that is more my style then the church I now attend which is a city church. I just feel churches in the country worship God within their heart & sometimes a better attitude.Once again thank you for your time
I'm going to answer you the way I just answered someone else. My personal history started in 1962. My spiritual history started before I was born. Even though I fellowship with Coc... the history you understand and cite... is not the history that counts. It is a matter of faith and it is a matter of focusing on the spiritual and not worldly things.
Great job! So thankful that New Testament Christians are growing platforms like this. I listened to the Cultish podcast when it came out and I have also listened to the "update" they made a few months ago. It was pretty much the same as the first one with the same people. I had one thing to add to your comments made about the way many denominations think of the "sinful nature" inherited from Adam that they claim babies are born with. I have heard that it is from a false interpretation of Psalm 51:5 (NIV supports this false interpretation) and Deut 23:2-3 (Moabite great-grandmother & Ammonite great-great grandmother) They use these to support the false idea that David was born in iniquity or sin.
He claimed the "Church of Christ" began in the 1830's and was started by Alexander Campbell. I live in Alabama. The oldest continuous congregation of the church of Christ in this state is the Rocky Springs Church of Christ. Historical documents show that congregation began in 1807. Alexander Campbell did not arrive in America until 1809, and didn't leave his prior denominational ties until more than 20 years later. If I am remembering correctly, Campbell preached his first sermon in 1810. Since the Rocky Springs Church of Christ existed in Alabama before all of these dates (and congregations elsewhere can be shown to exist much earlier, even before Alexander Campbell was born) then it is impossible that he originated the Church of Christ.
He is referring to the mainline churches of Christ that exist today. They later broke off in three groups, church of Christ, Christian church and disciples of Christ. I'm sure throughout history there have been many isolated groups with the same name on their building. So they are not speaking of every isolated group that happened to come up with the same name.
Rocky Springs congregation began with members from the Old Philadelphia congregation in TN in Warren Co. The 1833 building is still there and used still to this day for special events. They took the old stage road from TN in that community down to AL and planted that congregation there. :)
The CoC in 1807 was not a restoraton church. It was probably a church that taught infant baptism. These people had never heard of the Walter Scott Plan of salvation.
I am a new Christian and it took me over four years of striving to find God’s truth, it truly has been agonizing. I was finally led to The Church of Christ, and I can’t even tell you how wonderful it is to hear the truth finally!!!! These people that call themselves Calvinists are led by Satan’s dark forces, and Satan is very good at what he does. It is mind blowing that somebody would leave The Church Of Christ to be a Calvinist, absolutely mind blowing!!!!!!!!!! Pray for these people!!!🙏🏼
Stay in the Bible brother, we must go through Many hardships to inherit the kingdom of God acts 14:22 ,we have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling Philippians 2:12; I grew up Church of Christ but not that way any longer! you can still go to heaven etc.. but don’t let anybody take your zeal though for that entire word of God! @@jjphankwhat?? Your comment doesn’t even make sense. You’re basically confirming what we know as true as the original commenter whom you responded to wrote.
You're in a church that doesn't teach the Gospel. Although they claim to know the bible, they only use the verses that agree with their pet doctrines and they ignore the others that contribute to the correct understanding. I pray for you! I escaped from that manmade denomination. Pray that the Lord would lead you to truth and He will. God bless!

I'm Eastern Orthodox and we also reject Augustine's doctrine of Original Sin. From this segment, they charge the church of Christ as being a cult because they hold to Pelagianism. These gentleman, like most Protestants in general, appear to be completely ignorant of the facts surrounding Pelagius, Augustine, and the early church supposedly condemning Pelagianism as a heresy. There were supposedly 14 points which Augustine presented as taught by Pelagius, when in reality they were completely fabricated. Pelagius was examined twice by councils of bishops and was determined to be orthodox; that is, that he taught what the church taught. Augustine had Pelagius tried by the pope in absentia and it was the pope who declared Pelagianism to be a heresy. The book mentioned by Dr. Ali Bonner is quite an important work. She accuses Augustine of a deliberate campaign to change the orthodoxy of the church. Augustine had previously affirmed free will, but later in life espoused the doctrine of Original Sin, contrary to every single church father before him amd the explicit teaching of the early church. In fact, there's another book I would recommend by Dr. Ken Wilson called The Foundation of Augustinian-Calvinism, where Dr. Wilson presents original source material to show that Augustine brought in Gnostic heresies into the church, later to be revived by the Reformers, especially Calvin.
I was raised by members of the Church of Christ, and got baptized into it last year, but I've since found Eastern Orthodoxy and I'm converting to it. I wish there were more Orthodox speaking on the Church of Christ, there's too much engagement only between them and Roman Catholicism, lots of CoC vs. Catholic debates that can be found. Their focus of attack is always on the points that the Catholic church is legitimately wrong on, so I want to see what they'd do with the real Church.
@@PhoenixBaby96 I appreciate your reply. I, too, was baptized into the church of Christ but converted to Eastern Orthodoxy, so we share much in common. It was a process of many years. They claim they don't teach anything Alexander Campbell taught, which is technically true, but they do read the Bible in exactly the same way; hence why they, like every single other denomination, explain away certain verses, such as Matthew 19:21, 2 Corinthians 13:12 and John 6:45. They actually hold very much in common with Protestants in that they view the fall and sin in an Augustinian framework, and they hold to penal substitutionary atonement. They also don't believe the church has an explicit mission to help the sick, oppressed and the poor.
@@solochristo491 It's frustrating because there's no accountability. They're embarrassed to point to any one person in the tradition, such as Alexander Campbell, because to do so is to follow the "traditions of men". There's a good reason the movement is sometimes referred to as a "wild democracy". Not something very Christian, that.
@@PhoenixBaby96 hello. I too would like to see more engagement between the Eastern Orthodox religion and the church of Christ. I would be willing to debate a leader of in your church over a mutually agreeable topic.
I just watched that cultish episode episode out of curiosity and I was so confused why they thought that we believed the things this man was saying. I was thinking does America teach differently in their congregations or are these people misinformed??? And then RUclips recommended this video. I’m Very grateful and relieved.
Possibly and also take into note that the Israelites who were in Babylon were in a new land than their own and there were temples to murdok and the Ishtar gate so Ezekiel and other mosaic preists were keeping their faith in GOD right even though some of them married Babylonians and we're being drawn into their line of thinking in the apocrypha the book of Baruch who was Jeremiahs scribe tells them about not worshipping the gods of their land
I’m really excited to see this. You tube recommended the cultish videos to me recently and my heart raced the whole time. Growing up in the Church and getting to travel and worship in many states, I just did not understand where he’d gotten his conception of the Church. Seemed like it was a video on weird caricatures of assumptions
I was always taught if you planted an apple seed, you got an apple tree, if you planted a peach seed, you got a preach tree, and if you planted the seed of the Word of God as found in the New Testament, you get a New Testament Christian or Church.
Dr Richardson's memoirs show that he did not understand the meaning of baptism. Selena had no idea about Alexander Campbell's baptism in 1812. He was baptized by a baptist preacher. AC said Baptist baptism was a good baptism. Why was he baptized by a baptist preacher? There were no CoC preachers in 1812. The thief on the cross died under the new law. Nothing goes back past 1827 in the CoC. Someone who has never heard of Leroy Garrett needs further study although Aaron has great knowledge of bible issues and doctrines. We all need further study. Thanks for all you do.
I believe every single one of us needs to put Trey and his friends in our prayers!!! He had the truth at one time and satan has a choke hold on his heart and mind! He has so much pride and ego and the desire to have people follow him and not Christ 😞 He may be gaining earthly followers but he is loosing his eternal soul 😞
Actually, some of us who are keeping up with Trey Fisher and the guys he works with are starting to doubt he ever had the truth. His continues to misrepresent the church of Christ. Virtually every aspect of what he says on the plan/Sal & worship is incorrect.
@@MrCaza7096 I struggle to even watch anything with him in it. If he was a part of the Lord's church, did a human let him down and he is now against the entire church (which happens often) He seems to be dead set on turning anyone he can away :-(
@Frankie Weber I don't know. It could just be his personality. He also seems to just dismiss others as well. I do know he's dishonest. I'm completely shocked that he would debate Aaron Gallagher.
Some of the things he said that were not covered in this video makes me think he was in a congregation without a faithful eldership. They do ask him in one of the two podcasts if he was a member of the Boston Movement or International Church of Christ and he denied it. If he truly wasn't part of either of these then he either "did not have ears to hear" the truth or he was in a weak congregation with weak or no elders. He does mention that he hasn't been a part of the church since the 80s.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed! GBN is a non-profit organization funded by members & congregations of the Church of Christ. The best way to help us is by sharing our content, so we can reach more people with the Gospel!
The first time I watched that Cultish video I was just confused and puzzled as a lot of what they said was just misrepresentations and historical inaccuracies. If you're gonna have an alleged "expert" then they should probably have some kind of grasp on the topic. Trey is not that expert which made for a very unfruitful discussion.
I would understand if Don and Aaron decided not to give them the time of day; however, this thinking is not uncommon and should be addressed. Thanks GBN for doing that. 😊
Trey was an expert here. He was an expert at not understanding nor properly conveying the beliefs of the people he was labeling as a cult. And that was unfortunate.
@@BossHossStudios I’ve watched all of the videos, and I just don’t see that. I think he was taught by some very liberal people who really don’t have a good grasp of the scriptures. He misrepresented many things about the church. Reminds me of Apollos in Acts 18:24 who was still teaching the baptism of John and Priscilla and Aquila expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. I hope Aaron has been able to persuade Trey to come back to the Lord.
Going by the Bible is now “mysterious and Gnosticism” 😂. The Lords Church just brought back Biblical based teaching, from the Bible alone. I’m happy to be part of the church and apart of the local congregation by being obedient to the gospel message.
I became a restorationist (independent Christian Churches) without even knowing that restorationists existed. Ironically, I did it, primarily, by studying early church history.
bros Don & Aaron are good speakers and apologists. But, the critic Trey, is quite honest in his criticism, that was his observations and perceptions on Church of Christ...
You gentlemen explain it all nicely and kindly. I respect the Church of Christ.. I have to.. my parents believed all you’re saying though they would have used KJV
@reylambarte5615 Jesus, himself said in Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." He asks in Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me "Lord, Lord," and do not do the things which I say? Read Galatians 3:26-27: "You are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, for as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. The words "put on" (NKJV) are a translation of the Greek verb enduo which signifies "to enter into, get into, as into clothes, to put on." Can we be saved prior to "putting Christ on" or "being clothed" with Christ? Of course not. But when and how does one put on Christ---according to Paul? When one is baptized in water. Those who teach we can be saved before baptism are, in reality, teaching we can be saved while spiritually naked and without Christ! Paul affirms that "we put on" Christ at the point of our baptism----not before. Ask yourself have you been clothed with Christ. Visit the church of Christ (Romans 16:16) for most teach the truth on how to be saved.
I'm guessing it rained on the thief on the cross, allot. The Cornelus group had the Holy Spirit before water baptism by water. Maybe John was right, he baptized with water the one after him baptized with the HOLY SPIRIT.
@@rickhuntling7338 for any ordinary man water baptism is a retual done to show that the person undergoing the baptism had repented and was forgiven by God, for the case of Jesus as a son of man he had to undergo the ritual the first reason, second to show all that He is truly the son of God, third this signals the start of His ministry on earth.
GOD'S Plan For Our Salvation...(Short/Condensed Version) The Holy Bible definitely teaches that there are steps that a person must take in order to be Saved and to come to CHRIST. We Must Hear the Gospel of CHRIST, for Faith comes by Hearing the Word of GOD (Romans 10:17). A person must Hear. The fact that we have sinned, GOD loves us, and CHRIST died for us is learned when the gospel is preached. In Every case of conversion found in the book of Acts, people first had to Hear...Romans 10:17, John 5:24, Acts 2:37, Acts 8:6, Acts 8:35; Acts 9:6, Acts 10:33, Acts 16:14, Acts 16:32, and Acts 19:5. As we Hear we learn that we have sinned...Romans 3:23, that GOD loves us...John 3:16, and that CHRIST died for us...Romans 5:8. Without Hearing the Gospel Of CHRIST, we Cannot come to CHRIST...John 6:44-45. Upon Hearing GOD'S Word, we must Believe...Mark 16:16, John 6:47. We Must All Believe in CHRIST, for Without Faith it is Impossible to Please GOD (Hebrews 11:6; John 8:24). This is another way of saying we must have Faith. Our SAVIOUR in John 8:24 said, if ye believe not that I AM HE, ye shall die in your sins. Some denominations teach that a person is saved the moment he or she believes, but that is Not true. If that was true, then why was king Agrippa just almost a Christian? He believed...Acts 26:27-28. Why aren’t the devils saved? They believe...James 2:19. No, it takes More than just Believing and Faith only to be saved...James 2:24.
A person must also Repent...Acts 2:38. We Must Repent of all of our past sins, for GOD Commands all men, every- where to Repent (Acts 17:30-31; Luke 13:3-5). Our LORD taught that Repentance was absolutely Necessary in Luke 13:3 and 5 or else we will perish. That is why Saint Peter commanded people in Acts chapter 2 to Repent. Repentance is a Turning...a Turning From Sin and Turning to GOD. If, upon Hearing and Believing GOD'S Word, and we are willing to Repent, then we all Must then Confess that our MESSIAH and CHRIST is the Only Begotten SON of GOD...Matthew 10:32, Matthew 16:16; Acts 8:37. Confession is made with the mouth unto (in the direction of) salvation as stated in Romans 10:9-10. Again, We All Must Confess our Faith in CHRIST JESUS as the Only Begotten SON of the Living GOD and our LORD (Romans 10:9-10). For HE said, He that Confesses ME before men, him will I also Confess before MY FATHER who is in Heaven (Matthew 10:32). Confession of our sins (1 John 1:7-9)
After Confessing CHRIST to be the SON of GOD, then we all Must be Baptized...Acts 2:38, Galatians 3:27. Baptism is the another step that helps to save us...1 Peter 3:21, because Baptism in the Holy Bible is for (in order to have) the Remission (Forgiveness) of our sins...Acts 2:38. Let our salvation be patterned after those we read about in the book of Acts! Again, We Must All be Baptized into CHRIST for the Remission of Sins, for saint Peter said, Repent, and be Baptized everyone of you in the Name of YESHUA CHRIST for the Remission of your sins (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16).
Now these first several Steps (Hearing, Believing, Repenting, Confessing and being Baptized) are only for Qualifying for the Race and now We All Must actually Run the Race that is set before us all...1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Galatians 2:2, Galatians 5:7, Philippians 2:16, Philippians 3:14, Hebrews 12:1-2, 2 Timothy 4:7, 2 Timothy 4:8. Running the Race is actually the very difficult part after becoming a christian or disciple of CHRIST. You know that in a Race all the runners Run, but only one gets the prize. So Run to Win! All those who compete in the games use self-control so they can win a crown. That crown is an earthly thing that lasts only a short time, but our crown will never be destroyed. So I do not Run without a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something-not just the air. I treat my body hard and make it my slave so that I myself will not be disqualified after I have preached to others. Let us Run the Race that is before us and never give up. We should remove from our lives anything that would get in the way and the sin that so easily holds us back and entangles us, and let us Run with endurance the Race that is set before us.
After Baptism, then We all must Live a faithful godly Life in CHRIST and Live a Faithful Life for CHRIST. We all need to walk in our CHRIST’S Light...Revelation 2:10, 1 John 1:7. We also need to be CHRIST like in all we say and do, and in CHRIST church we must worship GOD in spirit and truth, partake of the LORD'S Supper every first day of the week, Praise and Glorify HIM and be a Servant and a Disciple of CHRIST. One must Live Faithfully as a disciple of CHRIST, Live for CHRIST and stay faithful to GOD...We Must Have Love For GOD and Everyone. We are all Blessed If we keep and do our GODS commandments...Revelation 22:13-14. We must encourage and edify others to stay faithful and fight the good fight faith until the end of our earthly lives. We must rightly divide the words of GOD and put them into practice what GOD teaches us from the words of life. We must also test the spirits of mankind in order to see if they really are from GOD or if they are from the evil one. We are saved by continuing in true righteous obedience to our only GOD, for this is showing that we truly Love our GOD if we obey HIM and keep HIS commandments...Revelation 2:10
Faith alone without works will not save us, for our GOD said faith without works is dead as per James 2:14-26. There is no such thing as once saved always saved, because anyone can fall from GOD’S Grace and be eternally lost. Once Saved Always Saved is False Teaching and False Doctrine and it is Only Wishful Thinking. We all should be willing to Suffer like and for CHRIST. A woman cannot speak or teach men in church meetings or church assemblies or congregational church service meetings as per 1 Corinthians 14:33-37 and 1 Timothy 2:11-12. Women must remain or be Silent in the churches of our LORD and GOD. A man must not wear a head covering or a veil whenever he prays to GOD and a woman must wear a veil or head covering whenever she prays to GOD as per 1 Corinthians 11:1-16.
Our GOD is Composed of Three Spiritual Divine Beings...our Heavenly FATHER, HIS Only Begotten SON and our LORD and MESSIAH and CHRIST, and our HOLY SPIRIT. They All make up One GOD in Unified Oneness or One in Unity, One in Purpose, One in the Way, One in the Complete Truth, One in Patience, One in Meekness, One in Everlasting, One in Justice, One in Righteousness, One in Mercy or Mercifulness, One in Holiness, One in Hope, One in Perfect/Perfection, One in Harmony, One in Love, Etc.
@@mariacook3040 The Thief On The Cross In Luke 23:43 CHRIST said to one of the thieves that was crucified with HIM Today shalt thou be with ME in Paradise. Many people take this verse out of context and teach that since the thief on the cross was not baptized therefore baptism is not essential for salvation. Since we cannot know the thoughts of others, we are not able to judge their motives, but we can make application of what CHRIST said in Matthew 22:29 Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the Power of GOD. . So, what do the Scriptures say concerning the thief on the cross and the necessity of baptism? First, the thief on the cross did not need baptism. CHRIST makes a statement in Matthew 9:6 But that ye may know that the SON of Man hath Power on Earth to Forgive Sins. Therefore, my LORD had the Power to Forgive the Sins of the thief and Baptism would not have been necessary. Secondly, Baptism for Remission of Sins that applies to us today did Not apply to the thief on the cross seeing that he lived and died under the Old Covenant/Old Law/Old Testament made through Moses. The New Covenant/New Testament/New Law given through our MESSIAH went into Effect After the Death of CHRIST. Hebrews 9:17 For a Testament is of Force After men are Dead: otherwise, it is of No strength at all while the Testator Liveth. Also, John 1:17 For the Law was given by Moses, but Grace and Truth came by YESHUA CHRIST. . We can see these principles after my SAVIOUR Rose from the dead and before HE ascended into Heaven. HE gave commandments to HIS apostles in Mark 16:16 He that Believeth and is Baptized shall be Saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. This is under the New Covenant/New Testament of CHRIST that applies to us today but did Not apply to the thief on the cross. Faith only will Not save. Baptism only will Not save but Both are Essential for Salvation. . The Holy Bible does not say whether or not the thief on the cross (Luke 23:43) was Baptized before he was on the cross, but we do know a sinner has to be Baptized to be Saved (Mark 16:16) under the New Law/New Covenant. . As my LORD lived HE could save Any One from their sins and Anyway HE chose. Thus the sinner of Luke 18:10-14 was Justified and the thief on the cross in Luke 23:43 was promised Paradise, because these incidence happened Before YESHUA Death. When YESHUA died, salvation can only be given according to the conditions of HIS Will. . This is where the costly mistake is made. Countless numbers of people are patterning their salvation like the sinner of Luke 18 and the thief on the cross. However, this does Not meet the conditions of the will found after YESHUA Death. In order to be saved today, we Must Hear (John 6:44-45), Believe (Romans 10:17), Repent (Luke 13:3,5), Confess (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:10), and be Baptized (Mark 16:16). To fail to do these is making a costly mistake because our souls are at risk! . In summary, concerning the thief on the cross we read of a Believing and Penitent sinner and a Compassionate and Forgiving SAVIOR. About extreme stance on Baptism: Most of the churches on conservative groups will even re-baptized people who are already members of other Church of Christ group because the Coc conservative groups do not recognize as True church those whom they call Church of Christ, mainline, liberal, etc.
As long as Someone accepted Jesus as Lord Christ, and Savior that enough, beyond this you add another Savior aside from the Lord Jesus. They might be ignorant in other things, that is why Jesus said after baptism to "teach them every that he taught us..." Logically, we don't know everything after baptism, only the essential confession that: "Jesus is Lord and Christ" (Acts 2:36; Acts 8:37)
@@JhunMaReadingandDevotion My first baptism was due, in part, to pleasing my then fiancé and some pressure from the church rather than being solely motivated by my love and understanding of Christ.
@@JhunMaReadingandDevotion No where in the Bible does it say "Accept Jesus as your personal savior." The Bible teaches that the word of God must be preached taught and heard or it must be read by the individual; John 6:45, Acts 8:30-31. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard----and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14). So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). We must believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:15-16 and that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins (John 8:24). The Bible says "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:3). Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). Every accountable, responsible soul who believes the gospel of Jesus Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection) is commanded by God to confess their belief (Matthew 10:32-33).And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest (be baptized). And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8:37). Next one must be baptized for the remission of sins just like Saul; Acts 22:16 which says "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Please read Acts 8:35-39 and note what needs to be done when Jesus is preached.
What gospel were the 12 apostles teaching if when they were confronted by Jesus and was told how Jesus was to die and the 12 weren't going to have it? Fast forward to Paul's description of the gospel that saves in 1 Cor. 15:1-4
I used to be a member, in the biblical text mentioned that we need to be an agreement with each other not in and opposite in such manner, I know not their is so many Church of Christ then when I was a member at the time i guess that's why I no longer wanted to be any longer in any relationship with religions just the biblical truth of the heavenly Father of the Christ only the Bible.
"Church of Christ" is not the only name, there are many Biblical Names. Good point bro! But, Many Churches of Christ groups are making a Claim that "CHURCH OF CHRIST is the only Biblical name. As if Church of Christ is a proper name given by God to be used by all churches, and they don't have fellowship to other churches having different names. Actually, this is Denominationalism, making identity by having a Particular Name= To Denominate their Group.
The word "church" is not supposed to be capitalized. The church of Christ is just a name to distinguish it from the church down the street, so to speak.
I have been going back through this series, Aaron you mention a book you were writing about historical church figures, I believe. Is it finished? If so where can I get a copy?
@@bbarnaby8516 As I finally come to realize (after leaving) there is a LOT of CoC dogma that they would deny is dogma. In this debate Aaron brought up AT Robertson, He was a Greek scholar etc etc. Aaron was right about AT R. He was the greatest Greek scholar in the 20th century. I studied at a church of Christ recently. This denomination is very secluded from the rest of the Christian world. A truly non denominational church welcomes everyone that is under Christ. Every church thinks they have the secret sauce, that their way is the “truth” this church is no different. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits, and church of Christ membership has been declining for decades. They claim that New Testament Christian’s aren’t under the law, but Christians should obey it out of loving obedience towards God yet they reject the 7th day sabbath as “legalism” even when other denominations call them legalists. With that said, one of my closest friends from work is a member of the CoC and he’s one of the most selfless loving caring human beings I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I say all this to say: no the CoC is not an occult. They are just another Christian church that believes they have the “secret sauce” and the true interpretations of vague scriptures.
I would also add that, in my opinion, to build a structure, fill it with people that follows your ideas of biblical truth, and then claim that you are the original church that Jesus built on Peter and then condemn everyone in other structures under a different name TO HELL is prideful and presumptuous. What revelation did Mr Campbell receive from God to make such a claim? Where in the Bible does it say that the church will fall away and then be restored? The church in the book of Acts was gaining members by the thousands. The “church of Christ” denomination has been losing members every year for decades.
2:35 to 2:55 - "unfaithful member" So I was CoC and withdrawn from because I became "unfaithful" to dispensation theology and CoC traditions. Not once in that time have I been accused of breaking any Bible teaching and Christ like behavior. Not once! I instead choose to believe and live out what "Jesus" instructed us to do. I actually believe him and for that I was found to be unfaithful, called satan, described as the recipient of satans fiery darts. The loving brethren (elders) never even told us they were withdrawing from our family. We found out a month later through friends. I'm a follower of Messiah Yeshua who's been born again (yes baptized) and because I choose to actually believe what my Savior said.. for that I was deemed unfaithful by CoC.
@truthnotradition7 A few more questions 1. What is dispensation theology? 2. What coC traditions are you talking about? 3, Who do you worship with today?
The "series" is extremely disingenuous in that it pretends to be something other than two Church of Christ Apologists defending against allegations of the denomination being a cult in the into and the description. After five minutes I switched to the Cultish video. Thank you at least for bringing them to my attention.
For those posting this video... Do you believe we are born with a natural desire for sin? Or do you believe we are born with the natural desire for holiness and righteousness? Or do you believe we are born neither with a natural desire for sin or a natural desire for holiness and that we only choose one or the other because someone convinces us one way or another (either through teaching or example)?
I would say none of the 3 examples capture what the Bible teaches. You are born sinless, you will sin, not because of an innate desire to sin, not because someone else led you or forced you to sin, but because you choose to sin. Paul was born under the law of Moses, but he was alive (spiritually) apart from the law, but when the commandment came (when he became accountable to the law) sin took advantage and he died (because he sinned). Paul chose to sin, he knew the law, he knew what was right and even though he wanted to do good, he stumbled, as we all do. We will all sin and it will always be of our own volition, as moral agents with free will, but through Christs sacrifice, we have a propitiation, the blood, that washes us clean, IF we are in the body, as Christ is the savior of the body.
@@dustinhuffman8089 So you don't see the fall of Adam as having any bearing on our ability to sin/not sin? Eph 2:3 says that "by nature we are children of wrath". The reason we choose to sin is because our natural self wants to sin. It is part of who we are as a fallen human being. 2 Peter 1:4 says that way we escape "sinful desire" is to become partakers of the "divine nature" that comes through Christ. While it is debatable if we are born guilty of Adam's sin or become guilty of sin when we commit personal sin. I don't think it is debatable that we are born selfish, with sinful desire. When you think about it, all sin comes from selfishness. We want what we want and seek to get it. We want to be our own God and rule our own life.
At around 28 minutes in Aaron says that people weren't baptizing babies until Augustine put his own spin on original sin but this is historically inaccurate. Tertullian was talking about how people were baptizing babies in the 200s AD.
At around 6:00 to 6:10 they are talking about how you should at least watch this video so you'll understand the Church of Christ and not misrepresent their beliefs. One thing that I see the Church of Christ constantly misrepresenting is the beliefs of people like me who believe in the biblically accurate OSAS. They are constantly falsely accusing us of believing we can go out and just sin as much as we want and there will be no consequences. That's not even remotely close to what we believe we believe God will chastise you until you come to your senses, he may even take your life early. We rightly believe that you cannot lose your salvation but we do NOT believe that there are no consequences to Sin.
If water batpism is how you get your sins forgiven. Wouldn't you have to get water baptized every time you commit a sin? Maybe just stay in the water to stay forgiven
Yes...baptism of the Holy Spirit is all you need. Ephesians 4:4-6 4)There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; 5) one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6) one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
28Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” - John 6:28-29 Belief is a work and we are required to do more than just believe for those that despise "works based salvation" 18But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? - James 2:18-21 and Faith without works is dead :)

So .. what about how we are Grafted In to the True Olive Tree .. in Roman’s 10 and 11 ?? Grafted in to the Called Out Assembly of Yeshua the Messiah .. ❤
Romans 5:12-21 Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned- 13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come. 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. 20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We've all been had. Dare to read: "Romans Proves Paul Lied - Have We Inherited Lies From Our Fathers?" Verse by verse - comparing Romans to the teachings of Jesus; in depth review of the Sermon on the Mount, with references; and the consolidated Sinai Covenant Standards to show Jesus had to have been inspired by God to teach what he did - restoring the Covenant Standards of Elohim that Judaism altered before him. Judaism, Catholicism, and all the rest afterwards - have missed the boat greatly. Evangelical beliefs are lies against mankind, Jesus, and the Father in Heaven!
I use to be a church of christ member. And i have to say its the only church that follow the new testament according to what it teaches rather it hurts or not. I learned alot about the new testament from the church. And it will give you strong backbone against all other christian churches. But sad to say the bible is made up by man and it contradictions old testament all of it is false and just a story.
It's odd how a church group who attempts to follow God's law, and scripture as humanly perfect as possible is called a cult by the others... so what are they teaching and living by?
Proverbs 18:17 The first one to plead his cause seems right, Until his neighbor comes and examines him. Romans 16:17-18 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. This is why we follow the Bible or scripture only. Tradition and history is not the same as God's word. Jesus corrected the Pharisees on these things.
These two don’t know Jack!!! Any time I have an objection with CoC, I have to have there verses separate but hey can take one and add whatever they want or remove whatever they want to justify their position.
“…babies born perfect and possibly will sin or commit sin in the future”. I’m lost with that how could a baby sin while not even knowing what sin is…even if you command a baby not to cry I doubt it would obey.
Great message, thankyou. If you believe in going back to what the bible says, and that the creeds and confessions etc., are uninsipired and often wrong (I agree), then can you show me where the original church or the bible taught the "trinity" which you seem to make a big deal of, when in fact it was a latter invention? (And no, I am not a Jehovah's Witness). And of changing the Sabbath to Sunday, which likewise was a later invention (as even the Catholic church teaches)? (And no, I am not a Seventh Day Adventist).
i love how you use a old testament verse to explain your new testament belief of children not being born a sinner then twisted romans 5:12 to fit your quota. try reading the whole passage it is very clear we are born into sin buddy
@randyhenry2477 Billy Graham twisted John 3:16 to teach salvation by "belief only." So, we don't have to repent and confess before salvation? Well, nobody believes that. The word "only" is not even in John 3:16, nor would the context of John 3 allow one to believe "belief only," Faith of course is necessary but not faith "alone"; one must also be baptized; Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:47-48 and Acts 22:16.
Men indeed have come up with different Models of Theology. It is fair to say that Augustine started Calvinism and Calvin perfected it. I constantly hear about Palagian. It is most interesting to see in history that for the first 300 years, the church was unanimous in Repentance and Baptism for the remission of sins. Not that baptism in itself saves, for the principle thing is Godly Sorrow which leads to repentance. The exceptions would be the thief on the cross, and if someone actually trusted in Christ and died before he was baptized, I do not believe the Lord would hold that against him. Also, all the arguing on the Mode of baptism is really sad. The Lord does not Major on the Minors. As a Prison minister, I've known converts baptized in the Showers. Are they any less Saved? Then the question of Original Sin. I always believed it, until recently. Adam was created sinless. Yet he sinned, but not without help from the Serpent/ Devil. I think one of the inevitable consequences of a Self Aware Conscious Being, having free will to do good or evil is the possibility of doing evil. The LORD said, " Man has become as one of us, knowing good and evil." We must know evil first and then choose the good. The LORD GOD wants both angels and mankind to love Him. This destroys Calvinism's Determinism. Love, not made to love, can only come from a free heart, not programmed. At the end of the video, Rom. 7 is about Paul not knowing sin. This is not because he did not know sin as an infant; later, as he grew up, sin revived. Rather as a Pharisee, who thought he was right with God under Moses's Law, his conscience was not troubled. He was deceived into believing he was touching the righteousness of God, blameless. But when the Conviction of God's Holy Spirit came upon him, he realized he was lost. (Jn.16) [Phl 3:4-13 KJV] 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, [of] the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things [but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them [but] dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. His servant, Peter
The COC started in 1827 with the Walter Scott plan of salvation. No one in the history of the church was told to obey this plan.until 1827. Name one person that obeyed this plan before 1827. There were no churches that had a sign with COC in front of the church. If Alexander Campbell were alive today he would not be allowed to preach in the COC that you represent. If AC had never come to America there would not be a COC in the entire world as it exists today. First of all there would not be a Walter Scott plan of salvation. No one in the history of the COC were told to obey such a plan until 1827. Hope this comment is not deleted.
The Thief On The Cross In Luke 23:43 CHRIST said to one of the thieves that was crucified with HIM Today shalt thou be with ME in Paradise. Many people take this verse out of context and teach that since the thief on the cross was not baptized therefore baptism is not essential for salvation. Since we cannot know the thoughts of others, we are not able to judge their motives, but we can make application of what CHRIST said in Matthew 22:29 Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the Power of GOD. . Protestant Evangelical thats deep in such I was not able to read that in my bible and I agree I am a new testament Christian I do not even align myself as protestant because I was taught and verified that what I had been taught was in line with the teachings of the bible. So if you try to be technical using history my point of reference would only be the bible.,
When I first studied the Bible with a Christian I heard many bold claims and I had many questions and every answer came from the Bible and the answer was always harmonious with the scriptures. that was over 35 years ago and. I am so thankful for the good and honest man who told me the truth. He had no agenda except my salvation. My motivation is the same to seek and save the lost. Jesus' own attitude toward those who created of Sabbath-keeping an Idolization... that they were ignoring matters that were far more important just to seek to be justified by this one ordinance. Should people starve watching the birds eat up the gleaning portion because it is the sabbath day?
It's obvious Trey is a 5 point calvinist (tulip)

Good morning Martin
Just finished reading your comment - are you no longer attending a COC - if so & you don't mind me asking where do you currently attend church.

Thanks so much for your reply
Your group sounds like what would be a fit for me - growing up when visiting my grandparents they attended church at a small church in the country - I guess maybe that is more my style then the church I now attend which is a city church.

@@PhoenixBaby96 Sorry, I meant John 6:54, not John 6:45. Typo.

It seems Ezekiel was dealing with a pre-cursor of Calvinism of that day.

Well done on answering the error guys

Amen, so sad. I believe deep down he knows better, but S you said pride has filled his heart.

Trey was very embarrassing with his avoiding and contradictions. He'd get caught and then try demeaning (however poorly) Aaron.

I am critical to any teaching with regards to salvation wherein the act of water baptism was added to the requirement.
@reylambarte5615 Jesus, himself said in Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved."
He asks in Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me "Lord, Lord," and do not do the things which I say?
Read Galatians 3:26-27: "You are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, for as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. The words "put on" (NKJV) are a translation of the Greek verb
enduo which signifies "to enter into, get into, as into clothes, to put on." Can we be saved prior to "putting
Christ on" or "being clothed" with Christ? Of course not. But when and how does one put on Christ---according to Paul? When one is baptized in water. Those who teach we can be saved before baptism are, in reality, teaching we can be saved while spiritually naked and without Christ! Paul affirms that "we put
on" Christ at the point of our baptism----not before.
GOD'S Plan For Our Salvation...(Short/Condensed Version)
The Holy Bible definitely teaches that there are steps that a person must take in order to be Saved and to come to CHRIST.
The theif òn the cross that acknowledged Jesus didn't get baptized
@@mariacook3040 The Thief On The Cross
In Luke 23:43 CHRIST said to one of the thieves that was crucified with HIM Today shalt thou be with ME in Paradise.
Concerning salvation for anyone living today under CHRISTS New Law/Covenant/New Testament we must accept all that is written and be willing to Believe that CHRIST is the SON Of GOD. Mark 16:15-16, Repent and turn from our sins. Acts 2:37-38; Confess our Faith that YESHUA CHRIST is the SON of GOD. Acts 8:36-37, and be Baptized for the Remission of Sins. Acts 22:16.

Excellent study. Praying for Trey I remember Trey talking about. leaving the Church of Christ.
@plove2679 Trey has left the church of Christ but we can still pray for him.

About extreme stance on Baptism:
Most of the churches on conservative groups will even re-baptized people who are already members of other Church of Christ group because the Coc conservative groups do not recognize as True church those whom they call Church of Christ, mainline, liberal, etc.
We re-baptize if the previous 'baptism' was incorrect. For example, one who is baptized in ignorance.
As long as Someone accepted Jesus as Lord Christ, and Savior that enough, beyond this you add another Savior aside from the Lord Jesus.
They might be ignorant in other things, that is why Jesus said after baptism to "teach them every that he taught us..."
Logically, we don't know everything after baptism, only the essential confession that: "Jesus is Lord and Christ" (Acts 2:36; Acts 8:37)
@@JhunMaReadingandDevotion My first baptism was due, in part, to pleasing my then fiancé and some pressure from the church rather than being solely motivated by my love and understanding of Christ.
@@JhunMaReadingandDevotion No where in the Bible does it say "Accept Jesus as your personal
savior." The Bible teaches that the word of God must be preached taught and heard or it must be
read by the individual; John 6:45, Acts 8:30-31. How then shall they call on him in whom they have
not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard----and how shall they
hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14). So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). We must believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:15-16 and that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your
sins (John 8:24). The Bible says "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:3). Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).
Every accountable, responsible soul who believes the gospel of Jesus Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection) is commanded by God to confess their belief (Matthew 10:32-33).And Philip said, If
thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest (be baptized). And he answered and said, I believe
that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8:37). Next one must be baptized for the remission of sins just like Saul; Acts 22:16 which says "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash
away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Please read Acts 8:35-39 and note what needs to be
done when Jesus is preached.
What gospel were the 12 apostles teaching if when they were confronted by Jesus and was told how Jesus was to die and the 12 weren't going to have it?
Fast forward to Paul's description of the gospel that saves in 1 Cor. 15:1-4

Can you please post the information about the history of the church of Christ in Europe on your website. What is your website address? Thanks 🙏 ❤

2:35 to 2:55 - "unfaithful member"
So I was CoC and withdrawn from because I became "unfaithful" to dispensation theology and CoC traditions.
Even WITHIN the pages of the New Testament, apostasy was popping up! I definitely take church history with some grains of salt!
The "series" is extremely disingenuous in that it pretends to be something other than two Church of Christ Apologists defending against allegations of the denomination being a cult in the into and the description. After five minutes I switched to the Cultish video. Thank you at least for bringing them to my attention.
Hello! Glad to see this program back! This is Gwendolyn Thomas!
Ephesians 4:4-6
4)There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; 5) one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6) one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
You apparently don't understand why Jesus came. You're thinking in terms of the law of Moses, which required a sacrifice for each sin.
@nanciewanda I know why christ came. The "church of christ" doesn't" understand it. That's why I made the comment
The "original" first century church all rejected Paul as a liar - for 300 years! Campbell didn't know - he believed the lies Rome gave us all.
28Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” - John 6:28-29
Belief is a work and we are required to do more than just believe for those that despise "works based salvation"
18But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? - James 2:18-21

Grafted in to the Called Out Assembly of Yeshua the Messiah .. ❤
We all have the consequences of Adam's sin not the sin itself
Romans 5:12-21
Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned-
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law.

I wished you were right about the CoC, but sadly not.
@@martin9410 why do you say that
It's odd how a church group who attempts to follow God's law, and scripture as humanly perfect as possible is called a cult by the others... so what are they teaching and living by?

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.
This is why we follow the Bible or scripture only. Tradition and history is not the same as God's word.

How does he know who’s Inspired or not!?
Campbell's beliefs were wrong before he adopted them, as they are wrong today. Every false religion is anti John 3-16. CoC included.
@randyhenry2477 Billy Graham twisted John 3:16 to teach salvation by "belief only." So, we don't have to repent and confess before salvation? Well, nobody believes that. The word "only" is not even in John 3:16,
nor would the context of John 3 allow one to believe "belief only," Faith of course is necessary but not faith "alone"; one must also be baptized; Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:47-48 and Acts 22:16.
Amen brother. Humans have always added hoops to jump thru because they want to feel like they did something to deserve salvation.
Which churches you consider cults ??
These guys sound like mainline church of Christ.
Church of Christ is indeed a denomination!!!
@kainable8769 The churches of Christ salute you; Romans 16:16.
Very true...they meet the dictionary definition of a denomination, but they find that term disapproving.
(Jn.16)
[Phl 3:4-13 KJV] 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things [but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them [but] dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

The Thief On The Cross
In Luke 23:43 CHRIST said to one of the thieves that was crucified with HIM Today shalt thou be with ME in Paradise.
Acts 22:16.
